  • Tuning of digital STC parameters for the system with unknown and time varying parameters as well as delays presents many preconditions and difficulties. In order to eliminate these difficulties and to enhance STC control functions, the present study employs the metbod of expert control for STC and to implement it in nod-minimum phase plants. In this paper, implimedtation of the Expert STC for process control, STC. parameters is carried out by tuning systematically and by applying these parameters to non-minimum phase plant. This controller supervises a status of the plant, and robust control function for time delay or change of the plant is demonstrated by computer simulations.

제한적 상태지속시간을 갖는 HMM을 이용한 고립단어 인식 (Isolated Word Recognition Using Hidden Markov Models with Bounded State Duration)

  • In this paper, we proposed MLP(MultiLayer Perceptron) based HMM's(Hidden Markov Models) with bounded state duration for isolated word recognition. The minimum and maximum state duration for each state of a HMM are estimated during the training phase and used as parameters of constraining state transition in a recognition phase. The procedure for estimating these parameters and the recognition algorithm using the proposed HMM's are also described. Speaker independent isolated word recognition experiments using a vocabulary of 10 city names and 11 digits indicate that recognition rate can be improved by adjusting the minimum state durations.

  • This paper demonstrates an AI application for representing operator's heuristic knowledges in implementing process control. AI controller constitutes servo and regulatory controller, respectively. The knowledge base for servo controller was designed to obtain the process output with respect to the desired set-point in short period. The regulatory controller was to provide smooth output near the set-point. The AI controllers was implemented in Turbo-PROLOG on IBM-PC. For the parallel processing, Turbo-C was linked to calculate the process output. The result shows that this AI controller can be well suited not only for minimum phase but also for non-minimum phase. This controller may be used as a back-up controller for rather extensive expert system.

  • We have developed a dual control algorithm by means of innovations approach and established the stability of dual by introducing the pole-placement method suggested by Berger on the non-dual control. The dual controller realizing this algorithm decreases control loss sharply when compared with that of a non-dual controller, and shows the characteristics of suppressing the output deviation in transient state effectively. The total control energy and the accumulated square misdistance of this dual controller are shown to be 1-10% and 0.1-10% of those of CE control, respectively. Consequently this controller solves the non-minimum phase problem encountered when discretizing the system equation, and can be used to overcome the uncertainty of system effectively by adjusting the learning rate of the controller.

  • Level control in the steam generator of a nuclear power plant is important process. But, the low power operation of nuclear power plant causes nonlinear characteristics and non minimum phase characteristics (swell and shrink), change of delay. So, we can't lead good results with conventional PID controller. Particularly, the design of controller with constraints is necessary. This paper introduces MPC(Model Predictive Control) with constraints and designs a good performance MPC controller in spite of the input constraints and nonlinear characteristics, non-minimum phase characteristics

Variable-magnitude Voltage Signal Injection for Current Reconstruction in an IPMSM Sensorless Drive with a Single Sensor

  • Three-phase current is reconstructed from the dc-link current in an AC machine drive with a single current sensor. Switching pattern modification methods, in which the magnitude of the effective voltage vector is secured over its minimum, are investigated to accurately reconstruct the three-phase current. However, the existing methods that modify the switching pattern cause voltage and current distortions that degrade sensorless performance. This paper proposes a variable-magnitude voltage signal injection method based on a high frequency voltage signal injection. The proposed method generates a voltage reference vector that ensures the minimum magnitude of the effective voltage vector by varying the magnitude of the injection signal. This method can realize high quality current reconstruction without switching pattern modification. The proposed method is verified by experiments in a 600W Interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) drive system.

  • 본 논문에서는 불확실성을 갖는 비선형 시스템에 제어기를 설계하기 위해서 출력제환 선형화 방법을 통하여 비선형 시스템을 선형시스템으로 변환하고 슬라이딩 모드 제어기법을 사용하여 파라미터들을 갱신하고 이를 통하여 제어입력을 갱신하는 강인성제어기를 제안하고자 한다. 비선형시스템은 최소 위상시스템이고, 시스템의 상대차수는 r<n 이며, 제로 다이나믹스는 안정하다고 가정한다. 제안된 제어기에 대해서 대역적 점근적 안정도가 보장됨을 보였으며, 제안된 제어기에 대해서 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 타당성을 검증하였다.

Internal Model Control for Unstable Overactuated Systems with Time Delays

  • In this paper, we have proposed a new internal model control structure (IMC). It is aimed at unstable overactuated multivariable systems whose transfer matrices are singular and unstable. The model inversion problem is essential to understand this structure. Indeed, the precision between the output of the process and the setpoint is linked to the quality of the inversion. This property is preserved in the presence of an additive disturbance at the output. This inversion approach proposed in this article can be applied to multivariable systems with no minimum phase or minimum phase shift with or without delays in their transfer matrices. It is proven by an example of simulation through which we have shown its good performance as a guarantee of stability, precision as well as rapidity of system responses despite the presence of external disturbances and we have tested this control structure in the frequency domain hence the robustness of the IMC.

  • Thermodynamic analysis of a mixed refrigerant refrigeration cycle has been performed by computing thermodynamic properties of various refrigerants. The analyses are carried cut to identify the sources and distribution of the energy degradation by irreversible processes. Heat exchange process with the surroundings produces the entropy and the irreversible loss can be reduced by the mixed refrigerant whose phase change temperature varies during the phase change processes in the evaporator and the condenser. The concept has been applied to find the minimum compression work and thus the minimum energy loss in the overall system, specifically in the case of the mixed refrigerant of R12 and R114. Parametric studies have been added to recognize the various factors affecting the system performance.

  • A binary continuous phase frequency shift keying (CPFSK), whose phase is a continuous function of time and instantaneous frequency is constant, is a bandwidth efficient constant envelope signalling scheme. A transmitting signal is formed by combined coding of a convolutional encoder and a binary CPFSK modulator. The signal is transmitted throuth additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel. If the received signal is detected by a coherent maximum likelihood(ML) receiver, error probability can be expressed approximately in terms of minimum Euclidean distance. We propose rate 2/4 codes for the improvement of error performance without increating the data rate per bandwidth and the receiver complexity. Its minimum Euclidean distances are compared with those of rate \ulcornercodes as a function of modulation index and observation interval.
