  • Sound has been rated negatively in many industrial areas as the noise to be removed. In the agricultural process such as rice milling based on grinding the surface of the rice, however, it may be anticipated that the sound can contain the some information on the process. In this research, on the assumption that variation of the shape of the rice kernel during milling may bring the change in frequency characteristic of sound signal, we tried to investigate the relationship between the milling degree in the grinding test mill and the resonance and anti-resonance frequencies (the frequencies at which the sound power has the extreme values).   • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of the helix angle of endmilling cutter on the cutting characteristics of inconel 718 in up endmilling. To this end cutters with helix angle of $20^\circ$, $30^\circ$, $40^\circ$ and $50^\circ$ degree have been prepared. And a modified cutting force model in up end milling process is presented. Using this cutting force components of 4-tooth endmills with various helix angles have been predicted. Predicted values of cutting force components are well coincide with the measured ones. As helix angle increases overlapping effects of the active cutting edges increase.

극저온 볼 밀링을 통한 Ibuprofen 분말의 마이크로화 (Micronization of Ibuprofen by Cryogenic Ball Milling)

  • For the present study, the cryogenic ball milling process was applied to make Ibuprofen microsized. The cryogenic ball milling was performed at low temperature of about -18$0^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours. The particle size distribution was determined before and after the cryogenic process. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement was made to determine the effect of cryogenic process on the crystallinity of Ibuprofen. The results showed that the size of Ibuproffn was reduced about 10 times by the cryogenic process. The degree of crystallinity of Ibuproffn was slightly reduced by the cryogenic process.

도정도에 따른 쌀가루 및 쌀국수의 품질 특성 (Effect of Degree of Milling on Physicochemical Properties of Rice Flour and Rice Noodles)

  • 추청벼를 5분도미, 10분도미, 12분도미로 도정하여 쌀가루를 제조하였으며, 도정도에 따른 쌀가루의 이화학적 특성을 분석하고, 생면 쌀국수를 제조한 후 색도, 물성, 조리 특성 및 기호도 검사 등을 실시하였다. 도정도에 따른 쌀가루의 평균 입도는 $13.14{\sim}14.14{\mu}m$로 모든 시료 간에 유의적 차이가 없었으며, 색도 L 값은 12분도미 쌀가루가 91.51로 가장 높았고, 황색도 b 값은 5분도미에서 6.11로 가장 높게 나타났다. 시차 주사 열량계에 의한 호화개시온도, 호화정점 온도 및 호화종결온도는 도정도에 따른 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았고, 호화엔탈피는 12분도미에서 11.18 J/g으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 쌀가루의 미세 형태는 모든 시료에서 다각형 전분 입자를 확인할 수 있었으며, 도정도가 높아질수록 쌀 전분 고유의 다각형 입자가 많이 노출되어 있었다. 쌀국수의 조리 후 중량, 수분흡수율 및 부피에 대한 조리 특성은 도정도에 따른 영향은 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 쌀국수색도 측정 결과 5분도미는 10분도미와 12분도미에 비해 명도가 낮고 황색도가 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 조리전과 후의 각 색도 값에 대해 t-test를 실시한 결과 a 값과 b 값은 모든 처리구에서 조리 과정에 의해 유의적으로 감소하였다. 기계적 조직감에서 경도와 씹힘성은 5분도미 쌀국수에서 가장 높았으며 부착성, 탄력성 및 응집성 값은 시료간에 유의적인 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 외관의 기호도는 5분도미 쌀국수가 5.00으로 가장 낮았으며 맛에 대한 기호도는 도정도에 따른 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 전반적 기호도는 5분도미에서 4.25로 가장 낮게 나타났으며 10분도미와 12분도미는 각각 5.50 및 6.25로 유의적인 차이가 없었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 잣나무 목분의 탈리그닌 정도가 습식디스크밀을 이용한 해섬처리의 효율에 미치는 영향과 얻어진 해섬물의 성질을 조사하였다. 또한, 탈리그닌 정도가 종이의 인장강도 특성에 미치는 영향도 조사하였다. 탈리그닌의 정도는 아염소산나트륨과 초산을 사용하는 Wise법의 처리횟수를 달리함으로서 조절하였다. 탈리그닌 정도가 증가함에 따라 해섬효율은 향상되었으며, 디스크밀 처리횟수가 증가함으로서 섬유직경은 감소, 여수시간은 증가하였다. 또한 종이의 인장강도 및 탄성률도 탈리그닌 정도 및 디스크밀 처리횟수가 증가할수록 증가하였다.

Quality characteristics of improvement pellet nuruk inoculated from Aspergillus luchuensis 34-1

  • Aspergillus luchuensis 34-1 was inoculated into wheat pellets with different conditions of raw materials to produce nuruk. The degree of substrate reactivity improvement of steam treated raw materials compared with that of non-heat treated was analyzed. The water content of the pellet was adjusted to 25% and 35%, and steam treatment for 10 minutes improved the substrate reactivity at 2.1-fold and 3.1-fold, and sterilization was also possible. The characteristics of improvement pellet nuruk were investigated according to the degree of crushing and water content of raw materials according to the temperatures and humidities ($23^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$ and RH 60%, RH 80%). The pH of the pellet nuruk was higher depending on the temperature, humidity and moisture content of the koji were lower, and the pH of the flour-pellet nuruk was lower than that of 2 mm milling wheat-pellet nuruk according to milling degree. It can be seen that the milling degree affects the growth of mold. The acidity and amino acid were generally higher as fermentation time increased. Also, the higher the incubation temperature, humidity and moisture content, the higher the value. Glucoamylase activity was significantly the highest in moisture content 35% D2b nuruk, cultured at $30^{\circ}C$ and 80% RH for 38 hours. This is higher than the previous reports on glucoamylase of rice-koji or commercial nuruk using fungi isolated from traditional nuruk. From these study, it is expected that making of improvement pellet nuruk would save the fermentation time considerably compared with traditional nuruks.

V2O5/TiO2 촉매의 Ball Milling에 따른 산소 거동 특성 연구 (A Study on the Oxygen Behavior Characterization of V2O5/TiO2 Catalysts by Ball Milling)

  • Ball milling을 이용하여 제조한 $NH_3-SCR$$V_2O_5/TiO_2$ 촉매의 산소 거동 특성을 연구하였다. Ball milling으로 인한 촉매 $TiO_2$의 결정구조, 비표면적 변화는 없지만 $H_2-TPR$분석에서는 최대 환원온도가 저온으로 이동한다. 산소농도를 달리한 반응성 실험에서 모든 촉매는 산소가 없을 때 매우 낮은 NOx 전환율을 보이고, 산소 농도에 따라 BMC (Ball Milling Catalyst)의 활성이 더 우수한 경향을 나타낸다. 이는 격자산소와 기상산소의 반응참여 정도가 NMC (No Milling Catalyst) 보다 더 크기 때문이다.

  • In this paper, the test of machinability according to the cutting positions when the ball end milling of hemispheric workpiece is carried out to find the optimum cutting position of free form surface die. Tool runout, cutting force. and chip form are measured. The results show that the optimum cutting condition to get the constant feed per tooth is the inclined angle of 40 degree of workpiece.

3축 CNC 밀링을 이용한 치아 모형 제작 방법 (Making Teeth Models using 3-aixs CNC Milling)

  • The current study presents a simple setup method for making teeth models using a three-axis CNC milling machine. Physical teeth models can be made by several methods: casting, machining, and three-dimensional printing. Since the shape of a teeth model requires five-axis machining, the machining of a teeth model using a three-axis CNC milling machine requires careful setup operations. In this paper a simple datum shape is designed within the work piece of the teeth model. The datum shape is an n-sided prism with regular n-polygon ends and rectangular sides. In the present study a 12-sided prism is used, which easily makes 30 degree rotations for finish machining. The proposed setup approach does not require any special tools for making the teeth model using a three-axis CNC milling machine. A test was run and the results show that the proposed approach is useful for experimental makings with the limited facilities available.

PARTICLE SIZE-DEPENDENT PULVERIZATION OF B4C AND GENERATION OF B4C/STS NANOPARTICLES USED FOR NEUTRON ABSORBING COMPOSITES

  • Pulverization of two different sized micro-$B_4C$ particles (${\sim}10{\mu}m$ and ${\sim}150{\mu}m$) was investigated using a STS based high energy ball milling system. Shapes, generation of the impurities, and reduction of the particle size dependent on milling time and initial particle size were investigated using various analytic tools including SEM-EDX, XRD, and ICP-MS. Most of impurity was produced during the early stage of milling, and impurity content became independent on the milling time after the saturation. The degree of particle size reduction was also dependent on the initial $B_4C$ size. It was found that the STS nanoparticles produced from milling is strongly bounded with the $B_4C$ particles forming the $B_4C$/STS composite particles that can be used as a neutron absorbing nanocomposite. Based on the morphological evolution of the milled particles, a schematic pulverization model for the $B_4C$ particles was constructed.
