  • This study examined the reality of military counseling education applied by the Army and studied the effects of military counseling training using virtual reality. First, we explored the cases of virtual reality application related to counseling, reviewed the virtual reality technology that can be benchmarked in the Army military counseling education, and examined the applicable technology. We classified the education method and the curriculum for the students and tested the difference using the analysis of variance, which is a statistical analysis method, through the satisfaction measurement of the current education. In addition, after having students experience virtual reality contents, the effects of practical training applied with virtual reality technology were derived and the difference in actual training was compared and analyzed through T-test. Then, the reliability of the study was improved by analyzing the effects of practical training using virtual reality by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process for the expert group who can consider the overall situation. Based on the results of the analysis, the development plan of military counseling training combined with virtual reality technology and the supplements of current military counseling education were presented as policy implications.

  • Recently, the military need more various education and training because of the increasing necessity of various operation. But the education and training of the military has the various difficulties such as the limitations of time, space and finance etc. In order to overcome the difficulties, the military use Defense Modeling and Simulation(DM&S). Although the participants in training has the empirical knowledge from education and training based on the simulation, the empirical knowledge is not shared because of particular characteristics of military such as security and the change of official. This situation obstructs the improving effectiveness of education and training. The purpose of this research is the systematizing and analysing the empirical knowledge using text mining and network analysis to assist the sharing of empirical knowledge. For analysing texts or documents as the empirical knowledge, we select the text mining and network analysis. We expect our research will improve the effectiveness of education and training based on simulation of DM&S.

  • The goal of education and training in military is to foster strong combatants who can fight and defeat enemies. The Korean military is deeply aware of the importance of education & training, and has been introducing various advanced training systems so far. Despite these efforts, however, the military environment to maintain and strengthen the level of training is becoming increasingly difficult. In this study, it was conducted on the effectiveness analysis and utilization of the game system for military education & training through literature review. As a result of literature analysis, the introduction of the game system could be expected to have various effects throughout the cognitive and behavioral areas. Based on this effect analysis, the concept and shape of game system operation for each purpose were derived, and an improved plan using the game system was proposed.

  • So far, most of the military trainings were carried out in the field, and were influenced by the various parameters of the weather, the climate and the civil complaints regarding the noise. Also, it's the reality that the considerable time and resources are required to maneuver the weapon system used for the military training. Furthermore, the serious damage and casualties during tha military training are important parameters that can't be ignored. Recently, with the development of 5G communication networks and XR technologies, XR technologies are used in various fields that participate with multilateral parts, i.e. in military technology and training. In this paper, to implement the military education, 5G communication network and military education training system were established. The military education training system were composed that over 10 persons were possible to train in the various circumstances such as counter combat, mountains combat, urban combat and beaches combat. Also it is possible to fight with AI combatants, and train the gun disassembly and assembly, and train the various firing exercise. The military training system of using XR technologies were applied to the multilateral military training, and we analyzed the satisfaction results for the experienced persons of this XR system.

  • The purpose of this study is to find improvements in current issues faced in counseling training within the military and also show limits in counseling capabilities of military officers who are in charge of leading and counseling their troops. In reference to previous studies made on this topic, we looked at issues rising from military troops who are mainly in their post-adolescents having difficulties in adopting themselves to military life style. We also studied current status of counseling within the military and the counseling difficulties faced by military officers who are closely related to their troops.Survey and in-depth interviews were conducted to achieve the purpose of this study. 100 military officers were surveyed for the frequency of the counseling sessions, and to supplement the survey, in-depth interviews were conducted 3 military officers and analyzed qualitatively. As a result of the survey and the in-depth interviews 76.5% of the military officers never had counseling training prior to joining the military and only 32.9% received counseling training after joining the military. 61% of the survey participants expressed difficulties in counseling their troops. Most of them expressed difficulties in lack of training and issues on theory based training. For the improvements following have been identified; "understanding the troops", "Identifying the problems", "Execution of the training" and "Techniques for Military Training". This study has a meaning in terms of identifying improvement areas in counseling training in the military through researching into current limits in military counseling and military officers counseling capabilities when the social issue of new troops having difficulties in adopting to military life style are on the rise.

  • This paper focuses on a scheduling problem of military training. Repetitive and identical training over multiple serials is a common type of military education. A simple but systematic method is suggested to determine a training schedule for small groups divided from each serial. A satisfactory training schedule and the number of such small groups can be determined by iteratively solving assignment problems with additional constraints. With this method, loads of instructors can also be balanced without violating constraints associated with precedence and continuity relationships among lectures.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a method of applying AR(Augmented Reality)/VR(Virtual Reality) to educational and training systems from a comprehensive perspective, rather than applying AR/VR technology to specific education and training systems. We suggested whether to apply AR or VR technology to education and training system, the level of application of technology when constructing using AR/VR technology, and the criteria of priority among many education and training systems. To do this, we presented the framework of application of AR/VR technology, the evaluation criteria for selecting priority of education and training system applying AR/VR, and the systematic procedure for utilization of developed method. This study is significant in that it has developed a method to determine the direction of systematic AR/VR technology application for all education and training systems operated by the military or organization. This is expected to contribute to the overall efficiency of the organization in terms of economical utilization of the limited budget as well as the various benefits of utilizing basic AR/VR technology.

  • This paper examines the history of karate, its utilization as military training, and its value as a national defense sport. Originating from Okinawa, karate was introduced into Japanese military training in the modern era and spread worldwide. During World War II, the Japanese military intensified karate training for close-quarters combat. Post-war, karate was introduced to Western society through the U.S. military presence in Japan. In contemporary militaries, various martial arts, including karate, are utilized in training programs such as the U.S. Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and the Israeli military's Krav Maga. These programs integrate techniques from karate, judo, boxing, and other martial arts to create systems optimized for real combat. In military education, karate enhances individual physical and mental capabilities and improves unit combat effectiveness. Rigorous training develops physical fitness, mental resilience, and practical skills for close-quarters combat. Group training fosters camaraderie and unit cohesion. However, due to the changing nature of modern warfare, it is necessary to reconsider the proportion and methods of martial arts training in military education. With the advancement of high-tech weaponry, team operations have become more critical than individual combat skills. Rather than applying traditional karate techniques unchanged, it is essential to modify and develop them to suit modern warfare. Nevertheless, the value of martial arts training, including karate, remains significant in cultivating key soldier qualities such as physical strength, indomitable spirit, and camaraderie. It is anticipated that militaries worldwide will continue to evolve their martial arts training systems in line with changing times.
