경량 연자성 소재의 군 시설물 적용 시 방사선 차폐효과 분석 (Analysis of Radiation Shielding Effect of Soft Magnetic Material applied to Military Facility)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 경량 연자성 소재의 방사선 차폐 효과를 분석하여 군사시설에 대한 적용 가능성을 확인하는 것이다. 연자성 물질은 EMP 차폐에 효과적인 것으로 알려져 있다. 이 물질이 방사선 차폐에도 효과적이라면 군 방호에 효과적으로 적용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 감마선 차폐 효과를 확인하기 위해 Cs-137 및 Co-60 선원을 사용하여 실험을 수행하였으며, 중성자 차폐 효과를 평가하기 위해 Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) 모델링을 적용하였다. 그 결과 연자성 소재의 두께가 증가함에 따라 감마선과 중성자의 선형 감쇠 법칙에 의한 차폐성능이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 연자성 소재를 군사용 구조물 등에 적용할 경우에 방사선 차폐에 효과적이라는 것을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Management Innovation of KORAIL and Military Application -Focusing on the Direction of Innovation in the Military Medical Institution-

  • This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the management situation of the Korea Railroad Corporation(KORAIL) through the management innovation process of the KORAIL and to suggest its implications for military application. Despite stable demand, the railway passenger industry had the limitation of not being able to abolish deficit routes due to public service obligations. In addition, the launch of the Suseo High-Speed Line has introduced a competitive system, posing a threat to corporate management. KORAIL wanted to overcome this crisis by innovating its management through the utilization of big data, improvement of the freight business, decentralization of demand, the introduction of tourism railroads, and development of station influence areas. By utilizing big data, KORAIL was able to optimize the railway fare system while reducing fixed costs spent on railway maintenance. It also drastically reduced the station of cargo and created a base station to pursue economies of scale. On the other hand, the existing exclusive station system was abolished to solve the chronic saturation of the downtown area, and the railway demand was moved to Gwangmyeong Station and Suwon Station to optimize the passenger supply. In particular, it developed a new business model called the tourism railway by developing the mountain Byeokjin Line, which was a chronic deficit line, and sought to improve liquidity through the development of the station influence area. Such a process of innovation at KORAIL suggests an appropriate direction in seeking ways to innovate the military medical institutions. First of all, the necessity of improving organizational immersion through the development of a personnel structure suitable for the compulsory organization, while expanding the facilities of the division and corps, and reducing the time required for medical treatment and waiting through the establishment of a data-based medical system was suggested. Next, it was also discussed to integrate the National Health Medical College, which received accreditation as a medical facility through the designation of advanced general hospitals and is ultimately under discussion with the Medical Institution. Through this, we hope that the military medical institutions, which are facing various challenges, will overcome existing limitations and be re-lighted as innovative institution that provides comprehensive public health services.

  • 국내 국경 지역의 주요 도로에 낙석 장애물을 설치, 운영하여 적군의 이동을 방지하고 차단하고 있다. 그러나 접경지역의 개발로 인한 교통량 증가는 낙석으로 인한 도로 교통 혼잡, 교통 안전, 도시 미관 저하 등 많은 문제를 야기하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 단위별로 다르게 적용되는 낙석장해물 철거 및 교체 시설 설치 지침을 제공하고, 운영에 필요한 낙석 장해물 유지비에 대한 국방부의 정책 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 낙석 장해물 제거 및 대체시설 설치에 관한 지침 연구의 일환으로 필수 낙하 장해물에 대한 표준 단가를 제시하여 암석 제거 여부를 판단 할때 판단 자료로 활용하고자 하였다.

Patterns of Antimicrobial Resistance and Detection of mecA Gene from Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Healthcare Facilities and U.S. Military Hospital in Korea

  • A total of 108 strains of MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) clinical isolates was collected from $121^{st}$ general hospital (U.S. military hospital), Korean healthcare facility from January to March in 2005 and Wonju Christian hospital in 1999. Antimicrobial susceptibility test by Vitek System and MIC test using oxacillin and cephalothin stripes by E-test were executed. PCR based detection of mecA gene was performed on the all of MRSA clinical isolates, too. MRSA clinical isolates were characterized with antimicrobial resistance patterns, PCR based detection of mecA gene and validation of the multiplex PCR strategy of SCCmec among clinical isolates.

소형 초음속 디퓨저를 이용한 고고도환경 모사에 대한 시험적 연구 (Experimental Study of High-Altitude Simulation using Small-Scale Supersonic Diffuser)

  • Experimental study was conducted on cylindrical supersonic diffuser in order to investigate the effects of the ratios of diffuser area to nozzle throat area (Ad/At), diffuser area to nozzle exit area (Ad/Ae), nozzle exit area to its throat area (Ae/At), and diffuser length to its diameter (L/D), the free volume of vacuum chamber, and the relative distance between nozzle exit and diffuser inlet on the diffuser performance. The study showed that the minimum diffuser starting pressure (Po/Pa)st increased monotonically with increase in (Ad/At) as predicted by the normal shock and momentum theory models and the volume of vacuum chamber affected vacuum pressure level during diffuser operation at lower value of (Ad/Ae). The results of this investigation will be utilized in the design of real-scale high-altitude simulation test facility.

대기체계의 정비전략 결정방법 (A Decision Method of Optimal Maintenance Strategy for Standby System)

  • This study develops a maintenance strategy for a reparable 2-unit standby system. The maintenance strategy implies the waiting time to call the repair facility when the unit-1 fails. Almeida and Souza set up the multi-attribute utility function consisting of system availability and repair cost for several maintenance strategies and decide the optimal maintenance strategy that maximize the expected value of the utility function. We decide the optimal maintenance strategy satisfying the following two criteria about the utility function : maximum variance using Almeida and Souza's utility function. It both criteria are not satisfied at the same time for every strategies, the strategy maximizing the lower confidence limit for expected utility function is regarded as an optimal one.

  • The air traffic situation variables were emphasized in this research to review the awareness level of job performance of military air traffic controllers in application of air traffic situation variables such as detection of aircraft identification, type of aircraft, position ,speed, altitude, determination of separation between departing and arriving in-trail aircraft, physical airport conditions, adverse weather conditions, NAVAID outage and ATC facilities' operational status. In this respect, This study was conducted under the auspice of ATC facility operating agencies and devoting air force air traffic controller's participation by answering the questionnaires from nine radar approach control facilities and other air traffic control towers.

국방물류전략의 성과요인 분석 (Analysis of Performance Factors of Defense Logistics Strategy)

  • This study reconstructed the military logistics improvement project currently being implemented by ROK military as a defense logistics strategy. In addition the factors affecting the performance of the defense logistics strategy are analyzed using PLS. The significance of this study is as follows. First, the defense logistics improvement project was structured as a defense logistics strategy according to function. Second, PLS is used for performance factor analysis. Most of the existing defense researches utilized the ML structural equation. However, this study used the PLS structural equation in view of the fact that each detail project is the formation of defense logistics strategy. Third, we identified projects that have a substantial impact on defense logistics performance and those that do not. We found that inventory, process, and information strategy influenced logistics performance among defense logistics strategies. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the facility/equipment strategy had no significant effect on defense logistics performance.

EOTS 시선안정화 제어기 설계와 외란모델을 이용한 성능예측 (LOS Stabilization Controller Design of EOTS and Performance Prediction Using Disturbance Model)

  • The EOTS(Electro Optical Tracking System) must have stabilization performance to provide high-quality images under disturbance environment. In this paper, we present a controller that can minimize the LOS error and has a simple structure. Hence, to evaluate the performance of this controller, analysis in the frequency domain and LOS error measurement are performed. In order to measure the LOS error without a 'rate table' that requires a lot of facility investment, we propose a design method for disturbance model that considers the operating environment of the EOTS. Finally, the performance of the stabilization algorithm is evaluated by the proposed disturbance model.

Application of storm water management model to designing the sponge city facilities in the Athletes Village of Military World Games in Wuhan

  • This study discusses application of the storm water management model (SWMM) to designing the sponge city facilities in the Athletes Village of Military World Games in Wuhan in October 2019. The SWMM was used to simulate the runoff processes and reduction efficiencies of the sponge city facilities. The runoffs of the sponge city facilities were compared with those of traditional drainage system for the design rainfall of 35.2mm and the rainfalls with different recurrence periods. The results show that the hign density sponge city facilities could meet the requirements for 80% of annual runoff control rate, SWMM can determine the scales of the sponge city facilities and effectively simulate the hydrological processes for different layout schemes. The simulation model is also helpful to making optimization of the sponge city facility layout.
