  • Expert systems are in an early evolutionary phase, but it already has significant impacts on business operations. More and more organizations are becoming interested in applying expert systems as solutions to their business problems. This paper describes how systems started, what is their current situation, and what are their application areas. It outlines what is expert system and how to develop an expert system. And it analyzes expert system shells and shows some current available expert system shells. Lastly, it concludes and predicts the main attributes of the future expert systems.

  • In the present study, flexible display technology, which has attracted significant attention in recent years, is discussed. The technology has been widely applied to various devices, such as foldable smartphones and rollable TVs. Notably, different flexible display types from LCD to OLED and E-paper have been employed to implement such devices in practice. Among them, the OLED technology has thus far led the flexible display market. In the present study, the concept and current application fields of the technology are analyzed, and further its potential applications are discussed.

  • Key technologies of Fourth Industrial Revolution and their innovative applications are expected to bring another technological revolution going forward. The present study takes a close look at the Internet of Things (IoT) among the key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In particular, sensor devices, which serve as the core of IoT-based application systems, are analyzed. This study also examines various applications and solutions using IoT-based systems.

  • Small interfering RNA (siRNA) functions through pairing with specific mRNA sequences and results in the mRNA's degradation. It is a potential therapeutic approach for many diseases caused by altered gene expression. The delivery of siRNA is still a major problem due to its rapid degradation in the circulation. Various strategies have been proposed to help with the cellular uptake of siRNA and short or small hairpin RNA (shRNA). Here, we reviewed recently published data regarding local applications of siRNA. Compared with systemic delivery methods, local delivery of siRNA/shRNA has many advantages, such as targeting the specific tissues or organs, mimicking a gene knockout effect, or developing certain diseases models. The eye, brain, and tumor tissues are 'hot' target tissues/organs for local siRNA delivery. The siRNA can be delivered locally, in naked form, with chemical modifications, or in formulations with viral or non-viral vectors, such as liposomes and nanoparticles. This review provides a comprehensive overview of RNAi local administration and potential future applications in clinical treatment.

Operational Risk Assessment for Airworthiness Certification of Military Unmanned Aircraft Systems using the SORA Method

  • Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are rapidly emerging not only as a key military power, such as surveillance and reconnaissance for military purposes but also as a new air transportation means in the form of Urban Air Mobility (UAM). Currently, airworthiness certification is carried out focused on the verification of technical standards for flight safety suitability of aircraft design in accordance with the Military Aircraft Flight Safety Certification Act and does not employ the model for operational risk assessment for mission areas and airspace. In this study, in order to evaluate the risk of the mission area from the perspective of the UAS operator, a risk assessment simulation has been conducted by applying the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) model to the operating environment of the Korean military UAS. Also, the validity of the SORA model has been verified through the analysis of simulation results, and a new application plan for airworthiness certification of the military unmanned aerial system has been presented.

  • This research paper is aimed at developing an optimal strategy for finding espionage ship sent from North Korea. The optimal strategy developed here handles detection rate and probability that the espionage ship is in a certain specific sea area. A detection model is developed and an application problem is illustrated.

  • 본 논문에서는 직업군인을 위한 군계약학과 컴퓨터응용학과 개설에 따른 교과과정을 제안한다. 군계약학과는 직업군인인 부사관을 대상으로 하는 재교육형 계약학과 학사학위과정으로 일반적인 교육과정과 다를 수밖에 없다. 제안한 컴퓨터응용학과 교과과정은 교육수요자인 부사관에 초점을 맞춘 교육과정이다. 따라서 군 과학화 및 군 정보화와 관련된 컴퓨터관련 교과목은 물론, 국내 4년제 정규대학 최초로 군상담사2급 자격취득에 필요한 교과목을 교과과정에 반영하였다. 또한 병사관리에 필수적인 군 리더십 관련교과목을 포함하여 합리적인 컴퓨터응용학과 교과과정을 제안하고, 영역별 학과 특성화를 위한 교과과정 체계도를 개발하였다.

포열 마모예측용 소프트웨어 개발 및 적용 (The Development and Application Wear of Prediction Tool for Gun Barrel)

  • The erosion wear of gun barrel occurs due to heat and chemical reactions. The high pressure and temperature in chamber increase the erosion wear. It is known that the metal phase transfer is the primary wear factor in a gun barrel under high temperature. In this paper, the tool of wear prediction in high pressure gun tube has been developed. The program developed has three modules such as DIRECT(interior ballistics analysis module), INVERSE(gun design module), and WEAR(wear prediction module). The prediction of wear was compared with the experimental data which was collected in the field unit. The prediction results shows good trend with the collected data.

군 표준차량의 플랫폼 표준화를 통한 전력지원체계 강화연구 (A Study on the Reinforcement of the Combat Support System by the Platform Standardization of Military Vehicles)

  • Platform standardization is widely used in commercial auto industries and other industries to acquire cost reduction as well as high reliability. This paper reviews some application examples and estimates expected effect of Korean army's platform standardization for combat system and combat support system. Also, military platform standardization based on utilization of commercial vehicles has been studied with the standard vehicles used in Korean army. It is estimated that outstanding results may be achieved if a dual platform, the public and military platforms, is utilized. So, when the strategy of the military transportation system is decided, "dual use" concept is necessary and this could maximize the effect of the military strategy reinforcement.

CBT를 활용한 군사훈련 시뮬레이션 효과 분석 (A Study on the Development of the Principles of Fluid Mechanics by WBI Learning Program)

  • 천안함 폭침 사건이 2년이 경과하면서 미사일 발사 등의 군사적 충돌이 문제가 되고 있다. 특히 실제로 군사적 훈련에는 물리적인 한계가 있어 CBT를 활용한 군사 시뮬레이션 교육에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 군특성화 고등학교에서 CBT를 활용하여 화포와 총포 수리에 대한 기능을 On-Line에서 시뮬레이션을 통해 교육을 실시한 후 그 효과를 연구 분석하였다. 또한 화포 수리병을 양성하기 위하여 사용되는 CBT를 활용한 시뮬레이션 교육 실시 집단과 CBT 시뮬레이션 교육을 실시하지 않은 집단 간에 학습효과를 비교 연구한다.
