Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the causal relationship of familial factors (parental acceptance, autonomy, and family satisfaction), social support (teacher's support and friend's support), school achievement, self-concept, and school adjustment. Based on preceding research, this study established a path model of school adjustment and its related variables. Methods: Two thousand six hundred and twenty nine middle school students participated in this study. Data were collected by a visit-survey with an organized questionnaire and was analyzed by the SPSS and AMOS programs. Results: Self-concept showed a significantly direct influence to school adjustment while both family satisfaction and school achievement directly and indirectly influenced school adjustment. Parental acceptance, autonomy, and social support indirectly influenced school adjustment. Conclusion: These results imply that first, family satisfaction, and self-concept are essential to solve the problems of school adjustment. Especially friend's support, teacher's support and school achievement should help improve the self-concept and school adjustment. Second, a variety of programs are available for schools to employ in an effort to provide interventions for students who demonstrate school maladjustment. Finally, it is necessary for family, school and society members to comprehensively cooperate to improve school adjustment.
This study examined parental education efforts on teacher confidence in parents of children attending elementary and middle school in Seoul. The effects of parents' educational efforts on teacher trust were examined to examine the mediating effects of parental school trust and local education satisfaction. The major findings of the study were as follows. First, parental education efforts had a positive (+) effect on teacher trust. Second, there was a mediating effect of school trust in parental educational efforts and teacher trust. This implies that the parental educational efforts directly affect teacher trust, but indirectly influence teacher trust through school trust. Finally, it was found that mediation effect of satisfaction of local education was found in the relationship between child education effort and teacher trust. This implies that parents effort directly affects teachers' trust, but indirectly influences teacher trust through local schooling satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to suggest how to activate the school library by examining how the users' perceive teacher librarians. For this purpose, questionnaires and in-depth interviews were conducted for students in 10 middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi. Analyses lead to these findings: the image types of teacher librarians were classified as professional image, active image, and simple-work image. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the effect of teacher librarians images on school library user satisfaction. In order to enhance the teacher librarians images and school library user satisfaction, it is necessary to strive to cultivate the active attitude and professionalism of teacher librarians. Also, as the frequency of use is lower, the teacher librarians' images are viewed as simple work. Therefore, it is required to consider various reading events and reading education to raise the frequency of use. This study shows that the teacher librarians' images have a positive effect on school library users' satisfaction and suggests improvement plan for school library activation.

This study analyzed the cases of three teacher communities participating in an innovative professional development program and clarified the characteristics and the process of lessons for mathematics-oriented convergence that were developed and applied during the program. Each of the teacher communities designed and implemented lessons according to the context of each community and the concept of lessons for mathematics-oriented convergence were developed and refined. The lessons developed by the three teacher communities were characterized as convergence problem posing lessons using technology, convergence of various subject content focused on mathematical concepts through team teaching, and convergence lessons according to students' achievement levels. The program contributed to teacher community activities by proving sustainable professional development in the area of convergence education, a connection between the content of their professional development and the context of the field, and opportunities for active participation in the process of developing and implementing the convergence lessons.
Since the characteristics of teachers that affect mathematics academic achievement are constantly changing and affecting mathematics achievement, longitudinal studies that can predict and analyze growth are needed. This study used data from middle and high school students from 2013(first year of middle school) to 2017(second year of high school) of the Seoul Education Longitudibal Study(SELS). By classifying the longitudinal changes in mathematics academic achievement into similar subgroups, the direct influence of teachers' characteristics(professionalism, expectations, academic feedback) perceived by students on the longitudinal changes in mathematics academic achievement was examined. As a result of the study, it was found that the characteristics of mathematics teachers(professional performance, expectation, and academic feedback) in group 1(343 students), which included the top 14.5% of students, did not directly affect longitudinal changes in mathematics academic achievement. Students in the middle 2nd group(745, 32.2%) had academic feedback from the mathematics teacher, and the 2nd group(1225 students) in the lower 53%, which included most of the students, showed that the expectations of the mathematics teacher were the longitudinal mathematics achievement. The change has been shown to have a direct effect. This suggests that support for teaching and learning should also reflect this, as the direct influence of teachers' professionalism, expectations, and academic feedback on longitudinal changes in mathematics academic achievement is different according to the characteristics and dispositions of students.
