  • As integrated circuits are developed, the crosstalk and the pulse distortion have been major problems in the design. In this paper. the PML and one-point resistive source are applied. This paper deal with the microstripline circuit which has the gap and three microstripline. Obtaining the Propagation pulse shape in microstripline, we prove that the use of the FDTD in the microstripline is valid.

  • In order to realize miniaturized and low-impedance MMIC passive component, a novel microstripline structure employing periodically perforated ground metal was proposed. The novel microstripline structure showed much lower impedance, and shorter guided-wavelength than conventional one. Using the novel microstripline with periodically perforated ground metal, a miniaturized 15 $\Omega$ ratrace was fabricated. The line width of the ratrace was 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$, and the size of it was 0.375 mm$^2$, which is 9.3 % of conventional one. The ratrace exhibited good RF performances from 20 to 30 GHz.

  • A quarter-wavelength open circuited microstripline slot array is realized at X-band froquency. The optimal feeding point is experimentally determined. The input impedance of the slot array for various frequencies and its radiation pattern are measured. The bandwidth of the slot array is increased by using the 4$\times$4 elements which are slightly different in length and feeding network which is suggested in this papers.

  • An analysis method of slot-coupled microstripline to waveguide transition is presented to developed a simple but accurate equivalent circuit model. The equivalent circuit consists of an ideal transformer, microstrip open stub, and admittance elements looking into a waveguide and a half space of feed side from a slot center. The related circuit element values are calculated by applying the reciprocity theorem, the Fourier transform and series representation, the complex power concept, and the spectral-domain immittance approach. The computed scattering parameters are compared with the measured, and good agreement validates the simplicity and accuracy of the proposed equivalent circuit model.

  • Conventionally it is asummed that the microstrip line conductor has a rectangular cross-section. but the additive and substactive processes used to create conductors for PCBs produce a conductor of approximately Trapezoidal cross-section. For wide Strip line, the thickness and edge effect will be small since most of capacitance is parallel plate rather than fringing and we can ignore the cross-section. For narrow strip lines, the edge effect become immportant. So in this paper, we measure the chracteristic impedance of microstripline by Vector Analyzer and simulate the electromagnetic field of microstripline using finite element method with edge angle.

  • An analytic method of computation of the coupling coefficients between a microstripline and a die-lectric resonator is showen in this paper. The relationships among the substrate material, the ground plane, the diele-lents. The theoretically computed values of Qext are compared with the experimentally measured values of Qext in there is no dieletric spacer between them, As a result, the reflection coefficients with the dielectric spacer between the dieletric resonator and the substrate are decreased more than the reflection coefficients without the didlectric spacer between them.

  • It was shown that the bandwidth of T-shaped microstripline fed slot antenna is wider than many of the conventional feeding structures. In this paper, we proposed a new method of enhancing the bandwidth of T-shaped microstripline fed slot antenna with a shunt open stub, and analyzed this antenna by using the FDTD method. We have computed waves and electric field distribution in the time domain, and VSWR, input impedance and radiation pattern in the frequency domaim by Fourier transforming the time domain results. It was found that the bandwidth of this antenna depend on the position(L$_1$) and length(L$_2$) of a shunt open stub. When these parameters are L$_1$=30 mm and L$_2$=33mm, we obtained the maximum bandwidth at the center frequency of 2.3 GHz. From the computed results, the optimum antenna is designed and fabricated. The fractional bandwidth of this antenna was 53.9 %. The measured results were in relatively good accordance with computed values.

  • We implemented double-negative metamaterials using cross-polarized split-ring resonators in a microstripline. The split-ring resonators comprised quad ring structures and were connected with the microstripline in series. Four different structures, with the shorted rings in varying locations, were fabricated to demonstrate reconfigurable band-pass characteristics. The effective permittivities and permeabilities were extracted using the Ziolkowski method. Excellent agreement between the developed circuit model and the measurement was observed up to 10 GHz.
