Nonlinear Control of Torque and Speed of S.I.Engines Using Electric Throttle Control (트로틀 앵글 제어에 의한 내연기관의 토오크 및 속도의 비선형 제어)

  • A nonlinear engine torque and speed control algorithm using throttle angle control is developed with an engine load torque estimation algorithm. Three 3-dimensional nonlinear engine maps as a part of the nonlinear control algorithm are obtained from steady state engine dynamometer tests. An electric throttle actuator is developed using a stepper motor and a 8 bit micro-processor. The speed control and external load estimation algorithm are tested via engine speed control experiments, and show performance good enough for using various engine torque and speed control applications.

  • 본 논문은 미세구조의 마이크로 액추에이터의 구동해석을 위한 결과로써 3차원 유한요소해석(Finite Element Analysis, FEA)을 이용하여 수행하였다. 마이크로머신과 같은 미소구조물을 해석하는 경우, 컴퓨터의 메인 프로세스에 비해 프리프로세서(pre-processor)의 비중이 높아지고 있어 그 효율화가 가장 중요하다. 수작업에 의존해야 했던 지난날의 요소분할법 기술은 최근에 들어 여러 연구자들에 의해 개발되고 있다. 특히, 복합현상을 다루는 정전 액추에이터에 직접적인 적용에 다소 어려움이 있는데 3차원적인 수치 및 실험평가는 실용적인 문제에서 비추어 볼 때 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 센서로서의 역할을 하는 마이크로 정전 액추에이터의 기본설계를 위한 토대를 구축하고자 3차원적인 FEA 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 미세 회전운동을 분석하였다. 그 결과 설계된 모델에서 먼저 자중해석과 Mode 해석에서 기준치를 모두 만족하였다. 또한 설계된 액추에이터의 형상에 따른 회전자의 변형해석을 수행하여 시작토오크와 탄성한계까지의 위치제어에 필요한 회전각을 구하였으며, 정전장 해석을 통하여 시작토오크는 전압 $V^2$에 비례함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Biped robot requires that an energy source and a control part should be installed on the body to realize active system. So, we choose the DC motor having high torque in compact size in this study. In the DC motor serve system, we choose power amplifier with analog configuration, developed the module combined the controller and the driver. We applied this module to robot actuator and studied the response characteristics in an action and a return. Main controller with serve system, loading PIC micro controller, can be load on the robot with light weight.

  • 최근 Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical(MOEMS)기술의 발달과 더불어 적응 광학(Adaptive optics)분야나 패턴 인식 분야에 적용 가능한 공간 빛 변조기의 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 적응 광학용 공간 빛 변조기는 대기의 turbulence에 의하여 왜곡된 빛의 위상을 파면 센서(wave sensor)와 실시간 제어기를 통해 보정하는 역할을 한다. 적응 광학 분야에서 상업적으로 사용되던 기존의 공간 빛 변조기는 전왜소자 배열(piezoelectric actuator array)에 의하여 지지되는 평면 거울을 사용하여 크기가 크고 전력 소비도 심하며 무엇보다도 가격이 비싸다는 단점이 있었다$^{(1)}$ . 그러나 MOEMS 기술의 적용으로 인해 공간 빛 변조기의 크기 및 무게 그리고 소비 전력이 줄어들었으며 반도체 공정을 통한 대량 생산으로 저가로 생산할 수 있게 되었다. ACTUATION CHARACTERISTICS OF A MICROMIRROR FOR FINE-TRACKING (미세 트랙킹을 위한 마이크로미러 액튜에이터의 구동 특성)

  • A micromirror actuated by piezoelectric unimorph cantilevers is proposed as a tine-tracking device for high-density optical data storage. Bending motions of the metal/PZT/metal unimorphs translate an integrated micromirror along the out-of-plane vertical direction. The micromirror alters the optical path of the incident laser beam and linearly steers the reflected laser beam by its out-of-plane parallel actuation. Numerical analysis shows that the actuated micromirror can satisfy the tracking speed imposed by the requirement on the access time for the high-density optical data storage up to few tens Gbitlin2 owing to the light mass of the micromirror. In this paper, preliminary characteristics of the micro-machined PZT actuated micromirror (PAM) are reported. Only a 360 nm-thick PZT film deposited by sol-gel process shows both good electrical and mechanical characteristics for the fine-tracking actuator. The micromirror can be easily actuated up to several micrometers under low voltage operation condition well below 10 volts.

  • The reproducibility of water droplet formation which is indispensible in the investigation of a drop-on-demand piezoelectrically driven inkjet was verified by checking the size of droplet and distance from the nozzle tip of inkjet head to droplet. Based on the reproducibility of droplet formation, we visualized the formation of micro-scale droplets by acquiring consecutive images at the jetting frequency of 500 Hz for which air bubbles were not generated. Two different electric waveforms were used to drive the piezoelectric actuator. The visualization system consists of a high-speed camera that can capture images up to 250,000fps, a long-distance microscope and a halogen lamp as a light source.

  • A dual-stage positioner for fast and fine robotic manipulations is presented. By adopting the merits of both coarse and fine actuator, a desirable system having the capacity of large workspace with high resolution of motion is enabled. We have constructed an ultra precision XY positioner with dual-stage mechanism where the PZT driven fine stage is mounted on the motor driven XY positioner and applied it to fine tracking controls and micro-tele operations as a slave manipulator. We describe essential merits of the compound actuation mechanism and some control strategies to successfully utilize it with proper servo system design. Through experimental results, the effectiveness of the coarse/fine manipulation by the dual-stage positioner will be shown.

  • For compensating the error motion of hydrostatic guideways, the structure and the theoretical design method of ACC(Active Controlled Capillary) are proposed. The maximum controllable range, micro step response and dynamic characteristics of ACC are analyzed experimentally for verifing the availability. The experimental results showed that by the use of ACC, the error motion within 2.7${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of a hydrostatic guideway can be compensated with the resolution of 27nm, 1/100 of uncontolled error, and the frequency band of 5.5Hz. From these results, it Is confirmed that the ACC is very effect to improve the moving accuracy of high or ultra precision hydrostatic guideways.

Performance Analysis of an Industrial Inkjet Printing Head Using the 1D Lumped Model

  • A design approach using a one-dimensional (1D) lumped model was studied and applied to an industrial inkjet printing head design for micro patterning on printed circuit boards. For an accurate analysis, a three-dimensional piezoelectric-driven actuator model was analyzed and its jetting characteristics were applied to 1Danalysis model. The performance of the 1D lumped model was verified by comparing measured and simulated results. The developed 1D model helped to optimize the design and configuration of the inkjet head and could be implemented in the design of multi-nozzle inkjet printing heads to improve the jetting frequency and minimize crosstalk.

  • This study aims to develop a PZT-driven depth adjustment device with a flexure hinge and to investigate its static/dynamic characteristics. This device will be applied to rapidly and accurately trace a flat surface with slight waviness of up to several hundreds of micrometers in magnitude. One typical example is to cut a film coated on a steel plate. A depth control system composed of PMAC, PZT/PZT amplifier, flexure hinge/knife, and laser displacement sensor is implemented on a desktop three-axis machine and an actual cutting test is conducted on a steel workpiece with a sinusoidal-wavy surface. It is verified that the dynamic characteristics of the device limit the maximum cutting speed and depth precision.
