  • Automative system and robot are operated by motor. Recently, automative system and robot need correct operation and control for precise task. Therefore they need precise motor control technology. In present, controller needs precise motor control technology in automative system and robot. Usual step motor driver that has 200 steps per revolution is not proper. So we need micro step motor driver that is more precise then usual step motor driver. In this paper, micro step motor driver is used for precise control of step motor. The goal is precise operation and location control. This micro step motor driver is A3972SB that is made in Alloegro Company. It has serial port that receives two 6-bits linear DAC value.   • In this study, We use microstep control to reduce vibration of step motor. Microstep control of step motor is usually thought of as an extension of conventional step motor control technology. The essence of micro stepping is that we divide the full step of a step motor into a number of substep called microstep and cause the stepmotor to move through a substep per input pulse. In ideal case, by controlling the individual phase currents of a two-phase step motor sinusoidally we can get uniform torque and step angle. But due to the nonlinear characteristics of the step motor, we need to compensate current waveform to improve the over-all smoothness of the conventional micro stepping system. We implement digital Pulse Width Modul- ation (PWM) driver to drive step motor and microphone was used for detecting vibration. Driver enables speed change automatically by increasing or decreasing micro stepping ratio which we call Automatic Switching on the Fly. To compensate the torque harmonics, neural network is applied to the system and we found compensated optimal input current waveform. Finally we can get smooth motion of step motor in a wide range of motor speed.

  • The control method which electrically subdivides 1 step(1.8\ulcornerstep) of a PM step motor into 64 micro-step (0.028\ulcornerstep) is realized using micro-step algorithm on the basis of the look up table method and the position and velocity control using Z-80 microprocessor is also realized. With micro-stepping. The resolution of the system is improved, also by micro-step control of driving-current of the step motro, which is followed by the increase of micro-step subdivision-coefficient, the precise position and velocity control of step-motor can be realized and the stabilization of the system is improved.

  • In this study, we developed a measuring system utilizing machine vision for measuring the precision of positioning of micro stepping motor. The measuring system equipped with CCD Camera, ring illumination and diffuser measures the repeatability and the hysterisis of a micro stepping motor by means of the pointer attached to the motor directly. With the measuring system, it was possible to measure the precision of the micro stepping motor in the resolution of $50{\mu}m$.

  • This paper is about improving characteristic of plant by using micro-step driver method in 5 phase step motor for satisfying the condition of low oscillation and high accuracy in soldering machine.   • This paper proposes that 5 phase step motor drive system has high performance utilizing a micro step control with a current controller. Also this paper proposes an analog current controller to minimize size of the 5 phase step motor drive system. It has better advantages of cost and noise and heating than commercial products. As a result, Applying this system to position control robot the validity of suggested analog current controller and driver system is verified.

  • In our research, we designed a small step motor with 2-phase structure and a micro step driving IC, which is used in an automotive instrument. The step motor for the automotive instrument has the better advantages than a cross coil type motor. These advantages are the characteristics with a good linearity, a fine accuracy, a low noise and so on.

  • In this paper, a voltage equations, a thrust force equations and kinetic equation are derived from the basic structure of a 2-phase hybrid type linear stepping motor(HLSM). And a micro-stepping method in order to eliminate effectively the resonant phenomena and to increase the positional resolution of the HLSM was proposed. The proposed micro-stepping method can divide one step into the maximum 128 micro-steps under simple control system. The dynamic characteristics of proposed micro-stepping method were analyzed by the ACSL(Advanced Continuous Simulation Language) with the voltage equations, the thrust force equations and the kinetic equation, and were measured by laser experimental system. As the result, the justice of theory was confirmed, and the resonant phenomena, the positional resolution and dynamic thrust were improved by the proposed micro-stepping method.
