  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common psychiatric disorders in childhood. This disorder, in addition to its main symptoms, creates significant difficulties in education, social performance, and personal relationships. Given the importance of rehabilitation for these patients to combat the above issues, the use of virtual reality (VR) technology is helpful. The aim of this study was to highlight the opportunities for VR in the rehabilitation of children with ADHD. This narrative review was conducted by searching for articles in scientific databases and e-Journals, using keywords including VR, children, and ADHD. Various studies have shown that VR capabilities in the rehabilitation of children with ADHD include providing flexibility in accordance with the patients' requirements; removing distractions and creating an effective and safe environment away from real-life dangers; saving time and money; increasing patients' incentives based on their interests; providing suitable tools to perform different behavioral tests and increase ecological validity; facilitating better understanding of individuals' cognitive deficits and improving them; helping therapists with accurate diagnosis, assessment, and rehabilitation; and improving working memory, executive function, and cognitive processes such as attention in these children. Rehabilitation of children with ADHD is based on behavior and physical patterns and is thus suitable for VR interventions. This technology, by simulating and providing a virtual environment for diagnosis, training, monitoring, assessment and treatment, is effective in providing optimal rehabilitation of children with ADHD.

  • The prediction of the exact behavior of multistory building is one of the most complicated problem encountered in structural engineering practice. An efficient computer method for the three dimensional analysis of building structures is presented in this paper. A multistory building is idealized as an assemblage of a series of rectangular plane frames interconnected by rigid floor diaphragms. The matrix condensation technique is employed for the reduction of degrees of freedom, which results in a significant saving in computational efforts and the required memory size. Kinematical approach was used to assemble condensed stiffness matrices of plane frames into a three dimensional stick model stiffness matrix. The static analysis follows the modified tridiagonal approach. Since this procedure utilizes the condensed stiffness matrix of the structure, the dynamic equations of motion for the story displacement are developed by assigning proper mass for each story. Analysis results of several example structures are compared to those obtained by using the well-known SAP IV for verification of the accuracy and efficiency of the computer program PFS which was developed utilizing the method proposed in this study. The analysis method proposed in this study can be used as an efficient and economical means for the analysis of multistory buildings.

  • In this paper we design and implement a new Hybrid Equipment Data Acquisition System (HEDAS) for data collection of semiconductor and optoelectronic manufacturing equipments in the equipment engineering system(EES) framework. The amount of the data collected from equipments have increased rapidly in equipment engineering system. The proposed HEDAS efficiently handles a large amount of real-time equipment data generated from EES framework. It also can support the real-time ESS applications as well as non real-time ESS applications. For the real-time EES applications, it performs high-speed real-time processing that uses continuous query and filtering techniques based on memory buffers. The HEDAS can optionally store non real-time equipment data using a HEDAS-based database or a traditional DBMS-based database. In particular, The proposed HEDAS offers the compression indexing based on the timestamp of data and query processing technique saving the cost of disks storage against extremely increasing equipment data. The HEDAS is efficient system to collect huge real-time and non real-time equipment data and transmit the collected equipment data to several EES applications in EES framework.

  • Recently, the use of various location-based services-based location information systems using maps on the web has been expanding, and there is a need for a monitoring system that can check power demand in real time as an alternative to energy saving. In this study, we developed a deep learning real-time virtual power demand prediction web system using open source-based mapping service to analyze and predict the characteristics of power demand data using deep learning. In particular, the proposed system uses the LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) deep learning model to enable power demand and predictive analysis locally, and provides visualization of analyzed information. Future proposed systems will not only be utilized to identify and analyze the supply and demand and forecast status of energy by region, but also apply to other industrial energies.

  • An autonomous virtual character can conduct itself like a human after recognizing and interpreting the virtual environment. Artificial vision is mainly used in the recognition of the environment for a virtual character. The present artificial vision that has been developed takes all the information at once from everything that comes into view. However, this can reduce the efficiency and reality of the system by saving too much information at once, and it also causes problems because the speed slows down in the dynamic environment of the game. Therefore, to construct a vision system similar to that of humans, a visual observation system which saves only the required information is needed. For that reason, this research focuses on the descriptive artificial intelligence engine which detects the most important information visually recognized by the character in the virtual world and saves it into the memory by degrees. In addition, a visual system is constructed in accordance with an image transaction theory to make it sense and recognize human feelings. This system finds the attention area of moving objects quickly and effectively through the experiment of the virtual environment with three dynamic dimensions. Also the experiment enhanced processing speed more than 1.6 times.

  • In an environment where all nodes move, the sensor node receives anchor node's position information within communication radius and modifies the received anchor node's position information by one's traveled distance and direction in saving in one's memory, where if there at least 3, one's position is determined by performing localization through trilateration. The proposed localization mechanisms have been simulated in the Matlab. In an environment where certain distance is maintained and nodes move towards the same direction, the probability for the sensor node to meet at least 3 anchor nodes with absolute coordinates within 1 hub range is remote. Even if the sensor node has estimated its position with at least 3 beacon information, the angle ${\theta}$ error of accelerator and digital compass will continuously apply by the passage of time in enlarging the error tolerance and its estimated position not being relied. Dead reckoning technology is used as a supplementary position tracking navigation technology in places where GPS doesn't operate, where one's position can be estimated by knowing the distance and direction the node has traveled with acceleration sensor and digital compass. The localization algorithm to be explained is a localization technique that uses Dead reckoning where all nodes are loaded with omnidirectional antenna, and assumes that one's traveling distance and direction can be known with accelerator and digital compass. The simulation results show that our scheme performed better than other mechanisms (e.g. MCL, DV-distance).

  • The sensor networks can be used attractively for various application areas. Time synchronization is important for any Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN) systems. USN makes extensive use of synchronized time in many contexts for data fusion. However existing time synchronization protocols are available only for homogeneous sensor nodes of USN. It needs to be extended or redesigned in order to apply to the USN with heterogeneous sensor nodes. Because heterogeneous sensor nodes have different clock sources with the SinkNode of USN, it is impossible to be synchronized global time. In addition, energy efficiency is one of the most significant factors to influence the design of sensor networks, as sensor nodes are limited in power, computational capacity, and memory. In this paper, we propose specific time synchronization based on master-slave topology for the global time synchronization of USN with heterogeneous sensor nodes. The time synchronization master nodes are always able to be synchronized with the SinkNode. Then time synchronization master nodes enable time synchronization slave nodes to be synchronized sleep periods. The proposed master-slave time synchronization for heterogeneous sensor nodes of USN is also helpful for power saving by maintaining maximum sleep time.

  • Recently, one of the critical issues in the etching processes of the nanoscale devices is to achieve ultra-high aspect ratio contact (UHARC) profile without anomalous behaviors such as sidewall bowing, and twisting profile. To achieve this goal, the fluorocarbon plasmas with major advantage of the sidewall passivation have been used commonly with numerous additives to obtain the ideal etch profiles. However, they still suffer from formidable challenges such as tight limits of sidewall bowing and controlling the randomly distorted features in nanoscale etching profile. Furthermore, the absence of the available plasma simulation tools has made it difficult to develop revolutionary technologies to overcome these process limitations, including novel plasma chemistries, and plasma sources. As an effort to address these issues, we performed a fluorocarbon surface kinetic modeling based on the experimental plasma diagnostic data for silicon dioxide etching process under inductively coupled C4F6/Ar/O2 plasmas. For this work, the SiO2 etch rates were investigated with bulk plasma diagnostics tools such as Langmuir probe, cutoff probe and Quadruple Mass Spectrometer (QMS). The surface chemistries of the etched samples were measured by X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer. To measure plasma parameters, the self-cleaned RF Langmuir probe was used for polymer deposition environment on the probe tip and double-checked by the cutoff probe which was known to be a precise plasma diagnostic tool for the electron density measurement. In addition, neutral and ion fluxes from bulk plasma were monitored with appearance methods using QMS signal. Based on these experimental data, we proposed a phenomenological, and realistic two-layer surface reaction model of SiO2 etch process under the overlying polymer passivation layer, considering material balance of deposition and etching through steady-state fluorocarbon layer. The predicted surface reaction modeling results showed good agreement with the experimental data. With the above studies of plasma surface reaction, we have developed a 3D topography simulator using the multi-layer level set algorithm and new memory saving technique, which is suitable in 3D UHARC etch simulation. Ballistic transports of neutral and ion species inside feature profile was considered by deterministic and Monte Carlo methods, respectively. In case of ultra-high aspect ratio contact hole etching, it is already well-known that the huge computational burden is required for realistic consideration of these ballistic transports. To address this issue, the related computational codes were efficiently parallelized for GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) computing, so that the total computation time could be improved more than few hundred times compared to the serial version. Finally, the 3D topography simulator was integrated with ballistic transport module and etch reaction model. Realistic etch-profile simulations with consideration of the sidewall polymer passivation layer were demonstrated.

  • A new SRAM circuit with row-by-row activation and low-swing write schemes is proposed to reduce switching power of active cells as well as leakage one of sleep cells in this paper. By driving source line of sleep cells by $V_{SSH}$ which is higher than $V_{SS}$, the leakage current can be reduced to 1/100 due to the cooperation of the reverse body-bias. Drain Induced Barrier Lowering (DIBL), and negative $V_{GS}$ effects. Moreover, the bit line leakage which may introduce a fault during the read operation can be eliminated in this new SRAM. Swing voltage on highly capacitive bit lines is reduced to $V_{DD}-to-V_{SSH}$ from the conventional $V_{DD}-to-V_{SS}$ during the write operation, greatly saving the bit line switching power. Combining the row-by-row activation scheme with the low-swing write does not require the additional area penalty. By the SPICE simulation with the Berkeley Predictive Technology Modes, 93% of leakage power and 43% of switching one are estimated to be saved in future leakage-dominant 70-un process. A test chip has been fabricated using $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS process to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the new SRAM, where the switching power is measured to be 30% less than the conventional SRAM when the I/O bit width is only 8. The stored data is confirmed to be retained without loss until the retention voltage is reduced to 1.1V which is mainly due to the metal shield. The switching power will be expected to be more significant with increasing the I/O bit width.
