Nutrikinetic study of fermented soybean paste (Cheonggukjang) isoflavones according to the Sasang typology

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: In Oriental medicine, certain foods may be beneficial or detrimental based on an individual's constitution; however, the scientific basis for this theory is insufficient. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of body constitution, based on the Sasang type of Korean traditional medical classification system, on the bioavailability of soy isoflavones of Cheonggukjang, a quick-fermented soybean paste. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A pilot study was conducted on 48 healthy Korean men to evaluate the bioavailability of isoflavone after ingestion of food based on constitution types classified by the Sasang typology. The participants were classified into the Taeeumin (TE; n = 15), Soyangin (SY; n = 15), and Soeumin (SE; n = 18) groups. Each participant ingested 50 g of Cheonggukjang per 60 kg body weight. Thereafter, blood was collected, and the soy isoflavone metabolites were analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Ntrikinetic analysis of individual isoflavone-derived metabolites was performed. RESULTS: Our nutrikinetic analysis identified 21 metabolites derived from isoflavones in the blood samples from 48 healthy Korean men (age range, 21-29 years). Significant differences were observed in the time to maximum concentration (Tmax) and elimination half-life (t1/2) for nine metabolites among the three groups. The Tmax and t1/2 of the nine metabolites were higher in the SE group than in the other groups. Moreover, the absorption rates, as determined by the area under the plasma-level curve (AUC) values of intact isoflavone, were 5.3 and 9.4 times higher in the TE group than in the SY and SE groups, respectively. Additionally, the highest AUC values for phase I and II metabolites were observed in the TE group. CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that isoflavone bioavailability, following Cheonggukjang insgestion, is high in individuals with the TE constitution, and relatively lower in those with the SE and SY constitutions.

  • 유산균은 국내외 연구진들에 의하여 피부장벽을 강화하는 효능 및 미백, 보습효과가 뛰어나다는 연구 결과가 보고된 바 있다[5, 26]. Lactic acid인 Lactobacillus rhamnosus는 보편적으로 많이 사용하는 프로바이오틱스인 Lactobacillus casei보다 낮게 측정되는 세포독성 결과와 높은 tyrosinase 억제활성을 바탕으로 멜라닌 생성을 줄임에 따라 미백활성을 가진다. 또한 Lactobacillus rhamnosus 파쇄물은 melanoma cell의 멜라닌 생성 저해능이 Lactobacillus casei보다 월등히 높아, 높은 미백 향장 활성을 가지는 것을 확인 할 수 있다(Table 2). 이는 곧 천연물질로써 기존에 사용하던 합성미백제보다 피부에 독성을 주지 않고, 부작용 없이 피부에 적합한 향장소재로 판단되며, 현대의 새로운 미백향장소재로서 활용가능성이 매우 높을 것으로 사료된다. 더 나아가 항산화 활성은 멜라닌 세포 형성 억제에 직접적으로 영향을 주며, 주름 및 노화 등의 출발점이 되어, 미백 활성도 증가됨을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서, 기능성 향장소재로써 가치가 높은 Lactobacillus rhamnosus는 합성물질 및 기타 천연물을 대체할 수 있는 항산화 및 미백 기능성 향장소재로 다가갈 수 있으며, 향장소재로써 선택의 폭을 늘릴 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

유방암 환자의 식행동 수정을 위한 영양중재 효과판정 (Nutritional Intervention for Dietary Behavior Modification in Breast Cancer Patients)

  • 본 연구는 유방암 환자의 식행동 수정을 위한 영양중재 효과판정을 위해 전문가 설문을 통한 통계분석으로 진행하였다. 연구의 대상은 2015년 12월부터 2016년 5월까지 강남세브란스병원에서 유방절제수술을 받은 30명의 여성 환자였다. 연구방법은 숙련된 임상영양사가 영양중재 전후 식행동 수정 및 체중 변화를 측정하였고, 운동, 음주 및 건강보조식품 복용여부에 대해서도 조사하였다. 연구결과 본 연구대상자의 평균 연령은 $54.3{\pm}9.3$세이었고, 월평균 체중감소율은 $1.4{\pm}3.5%$이었다. 영양중재 전후 식행동 수정변화 점수는 3점 척도로 측정 시 $2.00{\pm}0.45$ 점에서 $2.76{\pm}0.18$ 점으로 유의하게 상승하는 결과를 보였다(p<0.001). 음주를 하는 환자의 비율은 20%에서 영양중재 후 전원 금주하는 효과를 보였고, 운동수행 비율도 53%에서 영양중재 후 97%로 증가하였다. 건강보조식품의 복용 비율은 40%에서 영양중재 후 20%로 감소하는 결과를 보였다. 이상의 결과를 고려해 볼 때, 유방암환자의 영양중재 후 식행동 수정은 추후 유방암의 재발을 방지하는데 매우 중요하다고 사료된다.

  • 본 논문은 IEEE 802.11a에서 사용되는 ISM (Industry, Science, Medical) 밴드인 5GHz 대역에서의 무선 LAN(W-LAN)에 대한 시스템의 성능평가와 분석을 하였다. W-LAN은 현재까지 개발, 적용되고 있는 2.4 GHz대의 제품이 주류를 이루고 있으나, 이는 전송 속도가 11 Mbps로 고속의 전송이 요구되는 시스템에는 부적합하다. 이를 해결하기 위해 5 GHz 대역에서 54 Mbps까지 전송 속도를 지원하는 차세대 W-LAN을 구현하여, 강의실이나 구내 일정한 지역에서의 통신은 물론 차량과 같은 고속으로 이동시에도 데이터가 끊어짐이 없이 지속적인 서비스가 되도록 무선 접속장치(AP: Access Point)와 무선 단말 장치 (NIC: Network Interface Card) 간의 다중 경로 페이딩 채널을 모델링하였다. 또한 간섭성을 감소시키기 위해 컨벌루셔널 부호의 사용과 데이터 통신에서 필요로 하는 신뢰성있는 BER을 얻기 위해 단일 텝 LMS (Least Mean Square) 등화기를 적용하였고, 인접 심볼 또는 채널간 간섭을 제거하는 시뮬레이션으로 차세대 LAN 시스템의 성능을 평가 및 분석 하였다.

액티브 시니어 여가활동 참여자의 여가지지, 여가몰입 및 웰니스 간의 관계 연구 (A Study of Relationship among Leisure Supports, Flow and Wellness among Active Senior of Leisure Activity Participants)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 액티브 시니어 여가활동 참여자들을 대상으로 여가지지와 여가몰입 및 웰니스의 관계를 규명하는데 있다. 연구대상자는 서울, 경기, 전라도 지역에 거주하며 1가지 이상 여가활동과 3개월 이상 여가활동에 참여하는 액티브 시니어 209명을 선정하였다. 본 연구의 자료처리는 SPSS 18.0과 Amos 18.0을 이용하여 연구대상자에 대한 빈도분석, 연구변인의 신뢰도 분석과 확인적 요인분석, 상관 관계분석과 구조방정식분석을 실시하였다. 위 연구과정을 거쳐 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 액티브 시니어 여가활동 참여자의 여가지지는 여가몰입에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다(p<.01). 둘째 액티브 시니어 여가활동 참여자의 여가지지는 웰니스에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다(p<.01). 셋째, 액티브 시니어 여가활동 참여자의 여가몰입은 웰니스에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다(p<.001). 고령사회로 접어든 현시점에서 여가활동 참여 액티브 시니어를 대상으로 여가지지와 여가몰입 및 웰니스의 관계를 규명하여 그들의 건강하고 행복한 노후를 추구할 수 있는 방안을 모색했다는 점에 의의가 있고, 웰니스를 영위하기 위해 여가에 참여할 수 있도록 본인 뿐만아니라 우리 사회가 노력해야 한다는 것을 시사한다.

Korean Customer Attitudes Towards SNS Shopping

  • As a new format of retailing, social shopping on SNS has rapidly grown in recent. Although there is much literature associated with customer behaviours in the academic world, little attention has been paid to identifying the shopping patterns of SNS shoppers. This paper will, thus, identify how perceived value has an impact on the buying intention of SNS shoppers, after illustrating what kind of factor influences the formation process of perceived value in the Korean marketplace. Given that SNS shoppers are for the most part 20s as well as 30s, the authors handed out questionnaires to them. Furthermore, based on literature review results, the conceptualised research model was developed. Despite lack of literature, the authors developed five constructs like price reduction, quantity- and time-limited message, product ranges, information-sharing, and required number of shoppers. The researchers made a considerable effort to identify the relationship between research concepts and each variable, based on a few research analysis methods such as frequency analysis, the Varimax rotation technique used orthogonal rotation, Cronbach's Alpha, PCA (Principle Component Analysis), and the like. Amongst the 5 variables used to measure the degree of influences on the perceived value as a social shopping characteristic, it has been evident that price cut, required minimum shoppers, product variety, and information-sharing have a positive impact on the perceived value formation processes of SNS customers. Also, this research implies that SNS retailers can differentiate themselves from other retailers by differently using the above factors. From a practitioner's point of view, these factors should be strategically used to increase the social shopping opportunities of SNS users. It is, furthermore, evident that the perceived value formed by the above 4 factors have played an important role in the buying decision process of SNS customers. In a sense, whether customers are aware of higher price cut rates, information-sharing, required minimum shoppers, and product variety has a positive impact on making buying decisions. From a retailer's point of view, online shopping mall operators are able to use blog as well as twitter to improve the buying intention as a marketing tool of social network, because the business activities provided by social shopping retailers, like the rapid, accurate responses to customer requirements, the provision of a variety of information, and the communications between customers are closely related to buying intentions. There are a few research limitations to conduct this empirical research. It was not easy to review prior papers, due to its lack. In spite of the increasing number of SNS shoppers in Korea, little research attention has been paid to this kind of research topic by academicians, because buying products or services through SNS is in its infancy. With regard to research populations, it would be difficult to generalise the research findings in Korea, owing to unbalanced respondent distribution. Considering the above research limitations as well as the growth of social shopping, many authors should pay considerable attention to SNS-related issues in the future, and develop the more sophisticated criteria to measure the characteristics of SNS shoppers.

스마트폰 사용자 특성에 따른 헬스케어 애플리케이션 만족도 차이 (Differences on Satisfaction of Healthcare Applications by Smartphone Users' Characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 스마트폰 사용자의 일반적 특성과 스마트폰 및 헬스케어 애플리케이션 이용 특성에 따른 헬스케어 애플리케이션의 인지도, 정보품질, 용이성 측면에서의 만족도 차이를 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 자료 수집은 2014년 9월 17일부터 21일까지 헬스케어 애플리케이션 사용 경험이 있는 193명을 대상으로 이루어졌으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 20.0을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test로 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 일반적 특성 중 연령, 교육수준, 경제수준에 따라, 스마트폰 및 헬스케어 애플리케이션 이용 특성 중 스마트폰 운영체계, 스마트폰 사용기간, 설치된 헬스케어 애플리케이션 수 및 주요 정보 출처, 사용 빈도와 사용하지 않는 이유에 따라 헬스케어 애플리케이션 만족도는 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 모바일 헬스케어의 효과적 확산과 헬스케어 애플리케이션의 개발 및 배포 전략을 수립하기 위해서는 스마트폰 이용자의 특성과 요구를 확인하고 이를 반영해야 한다. 또한 개발된 헬스케어 애플리케이션의 지속적인 이용을 위해서는 사용자의 이용 동기를 지속적으로 유발하고 만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 다양한 전략들이 함께 적용되어야 한다.

Customers' perception of the attributes of different formats of menu labeling: a comparison between Korea and the U.S.

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study compared the perception of customers from Korea and the U.S. on the attributes of different formats of menu labeling The specific objectives were 1) to compare the customers' perceived usefulness, ease-of-understanding, clarity, and attractiveness of different formats of menu labeling between Korea and the U.S.; and 2) to compare the customers' use intention to different formats of menu labeling between Korea and the U.S. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A survey was conducted in Korea and the U.S. The participants were allocated randomly to view 1 of the 7 restaurant menus that varied according to the following types of menu labeling formats: (type 1) kcal format, (type 2) traffic-light format, (type 3) percent daily intake (%DI) format, (type 4) kcal + traffic-light format, (type 5) kcal + %DI format, (type 6) traffic-light + %DI format, and (type 7) kcal + traffic-light + %DI format. A total of 279 Koreans and 347 Americans were entered in the analysis. An independent t-test and 1-way analysis of variance were performed. RESULTS: Koreans rated type 4 format (kcal + traffic light) the highest for usefulness and attractiveness. In contrast, Americans rated type 7 (kcal + traffic light + %DI) the highest for usefulness, ease-of-understanding, attractiveness, and clarity. Significant differences were found in the customers' perceived attributes to menu labeling between Korea and the U.S. Americans perceived higher for all the 4 attributes of menu labeling than Koreans. CONCLUSIONS: The study is unique in identifying the differences in the attributes of different formats of menu labeling between Korea and the U.S. Americans rated the most complicated type of menu labeling as the highest perception for the attributes, and showed a higher use intention of menu labeling than Koreans. This study contributes to academia and industry for practicing menu labeling in different countries using different formats.

친환경농산물 선택기준이 구매의도에 미치는 영향 : 소비자 태도와 신뢰의 매개, 조절효과를 중심으로 (Effects of Selection Criteria for Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products on Purchase Intention)

  • Purpose - This study investigated the effects of consumers' selection criteria for environment-friendly agricultural products on purchase intention and the effects of consumers' attitudes and the reliability of environment-friendly agricultural products on purchase intention by using the theory of planned behavior. Subjective norms of variables of behavioral intention, attitudes toward behavior and control of the behavior were used to create selection criteria, consumers' attitudes and reliability of environment-friendly agricultural products. The study investigated the effects of consumers' selection criteria, attitudes, and reliability of environment-friendly agricultural products on purchase intention constructing models and hypotheses of mediation and moderation between selection criteria for agricultural products and purchase intention by consumers' attitudes and reliability. Research design, data, and methodology - The findings were as follows: first, consumers' selection criteria for environment-friendly agricultural products had a significantly affirmative influence upon purchase intention. Health was the most important factor of selection criteria convenience was more important than quality and familiarity was next. Consumers' attitudes and trust had a significant influence on purchase intention. Second, testing showed that consumers' attitude and trust partially mediated selection criteria: sub-factors and purchase intention were important in selection criteria. Third, testing showed that consumers' attitude and trust had a significant moderation effect between selection criteria and purchase intention. In the test of the moderation effect between sub-factors of selection criteria and purchase intention, consumers' attitude had a significantly positive influence upon health, convenience, and familiarity, and had no significant influence upon quality and purchase intention. Consumers' trust had no significant influence upon health, convenience, and quality. Results - The study provided several theoretical implications: first, an empirical analysis was undertaken with selection criteria for environmental-friendly agricultural products, consumers' attitude, and trust to investigate subjective norms, attitude toward behavior and control of behavior based on the theory of planned behavior. Second, this study investigated both the mediation effect and moderation effect of consumers' subjective norms on attitudes toward behavior, the mediating effects of perceived behavior control and changes of behavioral intention depending upon size and direction of the variables. This study also provided several practical implications. Conclusions - First, consumption of environment-friendly agricultural products did not increase despite rapid increase of production therefore, promotion of consumption and distribution was needed considering the supply and demand of the products. Second, definite standards for selection criteria were suggested to build up consumers' attitude and trust. Consumers' attitude could be improved by factors including the brand of environment-friendly agricultural products, consistent quality, solving physiological problems caused by adverse effects of environmental problems, supplementary approaches, treatment of adverse effects by eating food, and the development and supply of products in accordance with changes of lifestyle. Finally, consumers' demand for sub-factors of selection criteria could be much higher than health, convenience, and quality of the products. Therefore, a process was needed that could continuously check consumers' needs for the products. Limitations were described at the end of the study.

중국에서의 호텔예약 시스템의 블록체인 특성이 사용의도에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Block Chain Characteristics on the Intention to Use Hotel Reservation System in China)

  • Purpose - As the scope of existing digital transformation expanded to various degrees, the Fourth Industrial Revolution came into being. In 2016, Klaus Schwab, Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), said that the new technologies that lead the fourth industrial revolution are AI, Block chain, IoT, Big Data, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality. This technology is expected to be a full-fledged fusion of digital, biological and physical boundaries. Everything in the world is connected to the online network, and the trend of 'block chain' technology is getting attention because it is a core technology for realizing a super connective society. If the block chain is commercialized at the World Knowledge Forum (WKF), it will be a platform that can be applied to the entire industry. The block chain is rapidly evolving around the financial sector, and the impact of block chains on logistics, medical services, and public services has increased beyond the financial sector. Research design, data, and methodology - Figure analysis of data and social science analytical software of IBM SPSS AMOS 23.0 and IBM Statistics 23.0 were used for all the data researched. Data were collected from hotel employees in China from 25th March to 10th May. Results - The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the block chain characteristics of the existing hotel reservation system on the intention to use and to examine the influence of the block chain characteristics of the hotel reservation system on the intention to use, We rearranged the variables having the same or similar meaning and analyzed the effect of these factors on the intention to use the block chain characteristic of the hotel reservation system. 339 questionnaires were used for analysis. Conclusions - There are only sample hotel workers in this study, and their ages are in their 20s and 30s. In future studies, samples should be constructed in various layers and studied. In this study, the block chain characteristics are set as five variables as security, reliability, economical efficiency, availability, and diversity. Among them, Security and reliability made positive effects on the perceived usefulness. Also, security and economics did on the perceived ease. Availability and diversity did on both perceived usefulness and perceived ease. Perceived ease did on perceived usefulness. And perceived ease and perceived usefulness did on user intent. But security and economics did not on the perceived usefulness
