  • This study aimed to discover the effects of CSR activities on manufacturing employees' organizational trust and job satisfaction. A proposed model based on previous research was empirically tested via structural equation modeling by AMOS using 374 valid samples collected from current employees of D-Heavy Industries & Construction in Chang Won. The results of the empirical analysis are summarized as follows. CSR activities had a partially direct impact on job satisfaction and organizational trust. It has been confirmed that organizational trust has a partial mediation effect(full mediation effect) in the process of CSR activities and job satisfaction. These findings indicate that there exist interrelationships among entrepreneurship, internal and external CSR activities, organizational trust, and job satisfaction. In particular, the importance of CSR activities were identified in terms of effective organizational management by confirming their impact on organizational trust of employees. In addition, organizational trust was verified as an antecedent factor to improve job satisfaction.

  • Recently, International Maritime Organization has been developing e-navigation implementation strategy plan, which is focused on various services for vessel safety navigation. Then, different kinds of software will be developed in maritime area and with this, the quality issues are to be expected becoming more important. In this paper, we adopt software refactoring techniques to reduce the complexity of structure on source code level. It makes software program more effective to understand and modify, without any change of outward behavior. The existing AIS broadcast server program is used as an example for our trial, and calculating coupling and cohesion metric are introduced to analyze the refactoring effect, taking account of the maintainability of IEC/ISO9126 software quality standards.

  • According to the notion that anxious attachment may not explain depression fully, there has been abundant studies investigating the mediating factors affecting the relationship between anxious attachment and depression. However, there was no previous study examining the mediating effect of self-absorption. Therefore, the present study examined the mediating effect of self-absorption on the relationships between adult anxious attachment and depression for 283 college students. To examine relationships among variables, structural equation modeling analysis was utilized. and the present study found a partial mediation effect of self-absorption in the relationship between anxious attachment and depression. This result suggests that anxious attachment influences attentional process and as a result, the maladoptive self-focused attention can precipitate depression. Current findings can contribute to the field by providing knowledge about risk factors and cognitive mediators affecting mental health of college students who are in "transitional period" in their life. Future studies can investigate interactions among risk, protective, and mediating factors affecting the relationship between anxious attachment and depression among college students.

  • This study examined an effect of mother's smart device overdependence and short-term longitudinal mediation effect of mother's responsiveness on children's overindulgence tendency in smart devices. A total 144 children-mother dyads(male 73, female 71) participated in the study. The results of path analysis were as follows. The mother's smart phone overdependence and children's overindulgence tendency in smart devices were measured at time 1 and mother's responsiveness and children's overindulgence tendency were measured at time 2, six months later. When Time 1 children's overindulgence tendency in smart devices was controlled, Time 1 mother's smart phone overdependence significantly predicted time 2 children's overindulgence tendency. This study suggested empirical findings that caregiver's smart device were related with children's overindulgence tendency.

  • This study attempts to test the effects of neighborhoods on children and adolescents' alcohol, cigarette and marijuana use. Theoretically, this study was guided by Akers' (1998) SSSL model as potential explanations for understanding the linkage and provided partial test of the model. More specifically, it aims to test the mediation effects of one of core propositions of the SSSL model; whether differential association with deviant peers as well as with conforming peers mediates social disorganization of neighborhoods on adolescent substance and drug use in a different direction. Using multilevel regression techniques with robust standard error, this study utilized data from 1,791 children and adolescents who were nested in 80 neighborhoods in Chicago. The findings of the study provide mixed supports for the SSSL model. That is, it found that there are not only mediation effects but also moderation effects of differential association on children and adolescents' substance and drug use.

Based on the challenge, the study's purpose is to discover the effect of social support (informational and emotional support) on the SCI. The study also explores the mediation effect of trust and the moderation impact of culture between the USA and Korea. Design/methodology - This study used a sample of 482 surveys filled out by online shoppers from the US and Korea, two countries with divergent cultural values. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is used to analyze the hypothetical paths. In addition, bootstrapping and multi-group analysis are perform to view mediation and moderation effects respectively. Findings - The results of our study shows that both informational and emotional support significantly influences trust and SCI. Our results also supports the mediating effect of trust in social support and the moderating effect of culture in forming SCI. Originality/value - Our empirical results provide important information to businesses formulating cross-cultural SC strategies. This will help SC companies to analyze the aspects of customer trust through social support, which in turn will increase SCI and thereby established a competitive position for SCs. Our results will also be holistic directions for SC vendors in cross-cultural settings, which will offer important social and economic contributions to the sustainable growth of SC's business.

  • The purpose of this study is examining the effect of aging attitudes of older people on their life satisfaction, and investigating the mediating role of solidarity between parents and children. To achieve this, the survey was conducted with 2,076 Korean elderlies who were sampled with proportional stratified, and performed multi-mediated regression with SPSS macro PROCESS v.2.16. The results are following. First, aging attitude that older people recognized significantly affects to their life satisfaction. Second, aging attitude significantly affects to the five sub-categories of solidarity between parents and children. Especially, as elderly shows more negative attitude on aging, the solidarity also goes higher. Third, among sub-categories of solidarity between parents and children, affectional, identical, and functional solidarities play roles of mediator on the relationship between aging attitude and life satisfaction, and affectional solidarity shows the biggest influence on the relationship. Based on the results, practical and policy intervention were suggested for better life satisfaction of Korean elderly.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of self-regulation(SR) and the moderating effect of career identity(CI) in predicting academic achievement(AA) by middle school students' achievement value(AV). The subjects were 1,088 male and 970 female students in the third year of middle school. A conditional process analysis using SPSS and Hayes' process macro was conducted. The results were as follows. First, the partial mediation effect of SR was significant in the relationship between AV and AA. Second, the moderating effect of CI was notable in the relationship between AV and SR, and AV and AA respectively. Finally, the mediation effect of AV on AA through SR was found to decrease as CI increased. These results show that supporting the development of CI for students with low AV helps to improve SR and AA. However, as the effect of CI was found to be weaker than the effect of AV or SR on AA, the follow-up research exploring ways to support the achievement value of middle school students are suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to resolve the factors that affect happiness levels and l Considering the increasing importance of maintaining and developing the careers of working mothers, this study sought to analyze the effect of the meaning of work (MOW) and child-based self-worth (CBSW) on the work-family interface and career commitment. This is the first exploratory study to examine MOW and CBSW as resources for working mothers. For 10 days, starting August 18, 2020, 309 working mothers were asked to complete a questionnaire commissioned by a professional research institute, and 250 valid samples were then analyzed. The analysis found, first, that MOW had statistically significant positive effects on work-family enrichment and family-work enrichment and a negative effect on work-family conflict. Second, CBSW had a positive effect on work-family and family-work conflicts. Third, work-family enrichment had a positive effect on career commitment, while work-family conflict had a negative effect on career commitment. Finally, the mediation effects of the three paths were determined: MOW→work-family enrichment→career commitment; MOW→family-work enrichment→career commitment; CBSW→work-family conflict→career commitment. These results suggest that, to better manage the career commitment of working mothers, attention should be paid to the MOW, CBSW, and work-family interface.
