  • This study was to investigate the mediating effect of subjective happiness on the effect of andropause symptoms on suicidal Ideation in married middle-aged men. Final Participants were 199 married middle-aged men with andropause symptoms. Andropause symptoms, suicidal ideation, and subjective happiness of middle-aged men showed significant correlations. The mediating effect of subjective happiness on the relationship between andropause symptoms and suicidal ideation was verified. The findings revealed that an improving subjective happiness of men with andropause symptoms can be helpful for the prevention of suicidal ideation. Therefore, the researchers suggest that future researchers develop nursing interventions for the prevention of suicide ideation of men with andropause symptoms based on the results of the study, and evaluate its' effects.

  • Background: Our study aimed to investigate the mediating role of work-family conflict (WFC) on the relationship between long commutes and workers' anxiety and insomnia. Methods: Our study measured the two dimensions of WFC, time-related, and strain-related, which were considered multiple mediators. The mediating effect of WFC on anxiety and insomnia was investigated by decomposing the total effect into a direct effect (long commuting time → anxiety or insomnia) and an indirect effect (long commuting time → WFC → anxiety or insomnia). The combined indirect effect (joint indirect effect) of strain-related WFC and time-related WFC was estimated. The effects were presented as odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: The direct effect of 120 min or longer of commuting time was 1.39 (95% CI: 1.17-1.65) times increase in the odds of anxiety and 1.64 (95% CI: 1.41-1.90) times increase in the odds of insomnia than those whose commuting time was less than 60 min. In the case of indirect effects, those whose commuting time was 120 min or longer had 1.13 times higher odds of anxiety (95% CI: 1.07-1.18) and 1.12 times higher odds of insomnia (95% CI: 1.07-1.17) via WFC. The joint indirect effects accounted for 26.4% and 18.5% of the total effect on anxiety and insomnia, respectively. The longer the commuting time, the stronger both direct and indirect effects. Conclusions: Our findings highlight the mediating effect of WFC on the relationship between long commuting times and workers' anxiety and insomnia.

  • IThis research meets with empirical results in pursuit of aim as below mentioned. Firstly, it gets a line on two-way effects which have an effect on both (the country image and corporate image) by using the corporate image for the study of the country image. After making an analysis of the empirical test, found out that the corporate image has influence upon the country image significantly. Also found out that the country image has an effect on the corporate image powerfully. Therefore, it effects an inspection of evidence that the country image and corporate image have significantly positive concern, each other. Secondly, it is offering the way to use the culture marketing as grasping the mediating effects, which culture difference has influence upon the country image and the corporate image. The mediating effects show that the country image has influence on the corporate image more as culture difference is bigger.

  • This paper categorized Korean small and medium businesses' global capabilities based on the preceding studies about the global capabilities and then, examined how their global capabilities would affect their competitive advantages and business management performances. As a result of testing the research model, it was found that the small and medium businesses' global capabilities had some significant effects on their competitive advantage (p<.001). On the other hand, the global capabilities had some positive effects on the business management performances and the mediating effects were significant (p>.05), which means that the competitive advantage has some mediating effects on the correlation between the global capabilities and the business management performances. Accordingly it was possible to analyze the correlation between global capabilities of small and medium businesses and their competitive advantage and thereby, provide for an opportunity to shift the paradigm of the global competition strategies.

  • Adolescent psychosocial smoking prevention programs have been successful, but limited in the magnitude of program effects on the reduction of smoking behaviors. This is primarily due to the mixed results of independent studies with program variations. This systematic, quantitative research synthesis is designed to identify program key factors that are likely to increase program effects. The present study examined school-based psychosocial smoking prevention programs (1978-1997)among students in grades 6 to 12 in the United States. Theoretical formulations in this analysis of mediating effects posit that program impact on knowledge and/ or skills is associated with less smoking behaviors among program participants. Knowledge factors investigated in this study included health effects, social consequences, social influences, and social norms. Skill factors included affective skill, self-efficacy, assertiveness, self-control, problem solving, and refusal skill. The findings from this study highlight the importance of social consequences knowledge factor and assertive communication skill factor in decreasing adolescent smoking behaviors.

  • This study explored the effects of three-wall (3-W) movie screen on advertisement viewers' feelings of physical presence, perceived pleasure, and evaluation of advertisements. The findings from an experiment (N = 188) in a real movie theater demonstrate that 3-W screen enhances the feelings and perception toward the advertisements, with physical presence presenting the mediating effects. Of note is that the effects of 3-W screen were presented differently depending upon the types of the advertisements; the dynamic one and the static one. The effects were mostly applied to the dynamic advertisement, but not to the static one. Given the high costs of installing 3-W screen in movie theaters, the study's findings suggest more elaborate designs of advertisements to enhance the applicability of 3-W screen.

  • This paper investigates the effect of Team Member Exchange Quality (TMX) and technology management education on innovative behavior mediating effects of Empowerment. Innovation behavior is necessary for the continuous innovation of the organization. To that end, this paper investigates the relationship among TMX, technology management education, empowerment, and innovation behavior. Independent variables are TMX and technology management education; dependent variable is innovative behavior; and mediating variable is empowerment. The hypotheses of this paper are as follows. First, team members with a high quality of TMX will generate more innovation behavior. Second, innovation behavior will be created if team members receive a lot of technology innovation education. Third, empowerment will have a mediating effect on the relationship between TMX, technology innovation education and innovation behavior. To test these hypotheses, questionnaires were distributed and thoroughly analyzed using correlation analysis, multiple regression, and mediating effect analysis. Until now, there have been many previous studies investigating innovative behavior; however, this paper is still meaningful in that this study focused on the effects of TMX and Technology management education on innovative behavior mediating the effects of empowerment.

For this purpose, research was conducted in 154 college students majoring in hair in B Region. Such instruments as the major selection motive inventory, the major satisfaction inventory, and the employment preparation behavior inventory were used. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, product moment correlation analysis, and regression analysis were performed. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the mediating effects of major satisfaction on the association between major selection motives and employment preparation behavior in college students majoring in hair and Sobel test was carried out to determine the significance of the mediating effects. This study obtained the following results: First, among the major selection motives, the personal motives were positively correlated with major satisfaction and employment preparation behavior, and major satisfaction was positively correlated with employment preparation behavior in college students majoring in hair. Second, the personal motives and major satisfaction affected employment preparation behavior in college students majoring in hair. Third, major satisfaction exerted partially mediating effects on the association between the personal motives and employment preparation behavior in college students majoring in hair. Major satisfaction partially affected the association between the social motives and employment preparation behavior.
