초정밀가공 시 임피던스 측정을 통한 시편 수평맞춤 및 공구의 기준위치 설정 (Workpiece Horizontality and Reference Positioning of Cutting Tool by Measuring Impedance in Ultra-Precision-Machining)

  • In ultra precision machining, it is necessary to adjust the horizontality and reference position of a workpiece in a noncontact manner. For this, a simple process by measuring impedance between a tool tip and a workpiece which are connected to impedance analyzer is proposed. As the distance between the tool and the workpiece gets closer, the reduction rate of impedance becomes higher over all frequency ranges. By setting threshold value of impedance reduction rate at specific frequencies through preliminary experiments, the distance between the tool and the workpiece can be predicted and it directly enables us to horizontalize the workpiece and to set the tool to the desired reference position.

  • Tool wear is considered an important issue in manufacturing and engineering, as worn tools can negatively impact productivity and product quality. Given that the wear status of tools plays a decisive role in the production process, measuring tool wear is a key task. Consequently, there is significant attention in manufacturing fields on the precise measurement of tool wear. Current domestic methods for measuring wear are limited in terms of speed and efficiency, with traditional methods being time-consuming and reliant on subjective evaluation. To address these issues, we developed a measurement module implementing the DeepContour algorithm, which uses image processing technology for rapid measurement and evaluation of tool wear. This algorithm accurately extracts the tool's outline, assesses its condition, determines the degree of wear, and proves more efficient than existing, subjective, and time-consuming methods. The main objective of this paper is to design and apply in practice an algorithm and measurement module that can measure and evaluate tool wear using image processing technology. It focuses on determining the degree of wear by extracting the tool's outline, assessing its condition, and presenting the measured value to the operator.

  • On the machine measuring system composed of touch trigger probes, a DNC module, a CMM module, an analysis module and a man-machine interface unit was developed. Measuring accuracy is affected by working accuracy of the on the machine measuring system. The working accuracy of the system is due to geometric errors of th machine tool, servo errors of feed drives and positioning errors of probes. In order to compensate for the measuring errors due to the working accuracy, a calibration module was developed. The measuring automation system was realized with the on the machine measuring system and an IBM-PC on the machine center through a RS-232C. It turns the machining machine (CMM). The system is used for dimensional checking of machined components. initial job setup, part identification, identification of machining errors due to deflection and wear of tools. cutter run out, and calibration of machine tools. A horizontal machining center equipped with FANUC OMC wre used for verification of the system. The validity and reliability of the system. The validity and reliability of the system were confirmed through a series of experiments with gage blocks, ring gages, comparison measurement with a commercial CMM, and so on.

  • In general, manufacturing error originated in bad material, machine tool defection, tool defection, and tool breakage. When the manufacturing process is stable, the error is come from the tool wear. In common on-machine measurement, teaching probe and touch sensor are widely used, however in this thesis the automatic tool compensation system using electric touch point measuring system is developed and evaluated, and effective operating is proposed.

  • The traditional surface measuring method using confocal principle requires much time to measure an object surface since it is a scanning tool. In this paper, the upgraded confocal microscope is introduced. It is also a scanning tool but it requires 2D-scanning while the traditional one requires 3D-scanning. It means the time for measuring is considerably reduced. In addition, the measuring system is configured to increase the efficiency of beam. He-Ne laser whose frequency is 632.8nm is used for the laser source. An example of measuring result through the upgraded confocal microscope is showed.

  • A study for the roundness of machining center is classified into two ways. one is the way that progresses the roundness amending the parameter of machining center based on the measured value after the measurement of the roundness of machining center by means of a existing measuring device, another is the way that measures the roundness by remodeling the existing measuring device. The former is studied by pack hei jae team in Seoul university, the latter is studied by TSUTSUMI. Especially TSUTSUMI measures the roundness according to circular compensation after the insertion of developed measuring desire using a rotary encoder to the spindle of machining tool. We study how regulation velocity occuring with circular motion of machining center table influences the roundness after measuring the roundness using Circular Test method by a 2 dimention probe and a standard discus in this experiment.

  • This study evaluated the impedance characteristics of earth termination system and developed a variable frequency-typed inverter (measuring tool) for the utilization in ground design for lightning protection. The variable-frequency-typed inverter were composed of rectification part, voltage adjuster, IGBT controller and measuring part. Meanwhile, the square wave signal of variable frequency converted its frequency up to lightning surge band by using an IGBT after rectifying an alternating current (AC). It conducted performance evaluation of ground impedance of actual earth termination system by using the developed measuring tool for ground impedance and confirmed that such impedance-oriented performance evaluation was effective in the design of lightning protection.

  • Recently, a demand for precision 5-axis machine tools is significantly increasing, and the maintenance of machine tool accuracy becomes more important. it is very difficult to evaluate to accuracy of 5-axis M/C in the production site since it needs expensive measuring equipment and skilled engineer. On the other hand, evaluation items of 5-axis M/C are not systematically organized in the existing KS and ISO standards. In this study, the evaluation items for 5-axis M/C were derived systematically and a test workpiece was developed to evaluate the machine tool accuracy more easily. The error sources of machine tool can be estimated by machining and measuring of the test workpiece. The correlation between the machine tool accuracy and the accuracy of machined test workpiece was analyzed. As a result, the accuracy of machined test workpiece represented the accuracy of machine tool and the error sources very effectively.
