Maxwell의 On Governors를 통해 본 안정성 해석의 기원 (Origin of Stability Analysis in View of On Governors by Maxwell)

  • James C. Maxwell published a paper titled "On Governors" in the Proceedings of the Royal Society of London in 1868. However, this paper was ignored for about 80 years due to unreadability of the paper itself. In 1948, Norbert Wiener revived this paper and identified it as the first significant control theory paper, which gave Maxwell his due as the first contributor to this theory. The purpose of this article is to provide historical information on the origin of stability analysis through Maxwell's paper, and to revisit the key idea of the paper in view of the present stability theory with clear explanations. This article includes a proof and some illustrative figures of governors that were not shown in the original publication.

  • This study examined the taxonomic composition of marine benthic algal flora from Maxwell Bay, King George Island, Antarctica, collected between January 1988 and January 1995. The rhodophyte specimens collected and examined included a total of 20 genera and 20 species of red algae. Of these, 2 species, Kallymenia antarctica Hariot and Pantoneura plocamioides Kylin, were recorded in Maxwell Bay for the first time. Taxonomic keys for the rhodophytes are also provided.

  • It leaves much room for improvement that UTM-01 is of practical use. Therefor we will design of UTM-02 system. The design of new magnet is based on light weight for bogie system. We used Maxwell-3D FEM for design of new magnet. The new magnet for UTM-02 that was reduced weight of magnet. 22kg, then it was increased ratio lift to weight is 9.87.

ON SEMILOCAL KLEIN-GORDON-MAXWELL EQUATIONS

  • In this article, we study the Klein-Gordon-Maxwell equations arising from a semilocal gauge field model. This model describes the interaction of two complex scalar fields and one gauge field, and generalizes the classical Klein-Gordon equation coupled with the Maxwell electrodynamics. We prove that there exist infinitely many standing wave solutions for p ∈ (2, 6) which are radially symmetric. Here, p comes from the exponent of the potential of scalar fields. We also prove the nonexistence of nontrivial solutions for the critical case p = 6.

맥스웰 응력텐서의 물리적 의미의 고찰 (On the Physical Meaning of Maxwell Stress Tensor)

  • Maxwell stress tensor is one of the methods which are generally used for electromagnetic force calculation. In this paper, it is presented that Maxwell stress tensor T and n${\cdot}$T have no physical meaning and therefore should not be used as sources of mechanical force for deformations or dynamics. The divergence of Maxwell stress tensor ${\nabla}{\cdot}T$ is the one which can acquire a physical identity and is electromagnetic body force density by an action at a distance like a gravity. This result can be derived from the principle of power balance, and also verified by some thought experiments. The virtual air-gap approach is proposed as a valid solution for the calculation of the body force.

분자동역학법에 의한 기체분자의 속도분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Velocity Distribution of Gas Molecules by the Molecular Dynamics Method)

  • The velocity distribution of gas molecules from the experimental results was confirmed as the same with the Maxwell-Boltzmann's theoretical results within the experimental error. This study is on the realization of the Maxwell-Boltzmann's velocity distribution of gas molecules by the molecular dynamics(MD) method. The Maxwell-Boltzmann's velocity distribution of gas molecules is extremely important to confirm the equilibrium state because the properties of a thermodynamic system shall be obtained from the system's equilibrium configuration in the MD method. This study is the first trial in the successive researches to calculate the properties of a thermodynamic system by the computer simulations. We confirmed that the maxwell-boltzmann's velocity distribution is developed in some transient time after starting a simulation and dependent on the size of a system. Also it is found that the velocity distribution has no relation with an initial configuration of gas molecules.

미분형 Maxwell 유체내 구형기포의 수축에 관한연구 (A Study on the Collapse of Spherical bubbles in Maxwell Fluids of Differential Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 구형기포가 미분형의 upper convected Maxwell 모델을 따르는 유체 내에서 수축할 때의 현상을 이론적으로 해석하였다. 수치해법으로는 Lagrangian 좌표계에서 지배방정식을 유도 사용함으로써 자연스럽게 자유표면을 추적하는 동시에 압력변수도 반복 에 의하지 않고 직접적인 방법으로 계산할 수 있는 Galerkin-유한요소법을 개발사용하였다. 본연구의 결과 유체의 탄성은 변형초기에 충분히 발달치 못하기 때문에 수축을 가속화시키 지만 수축 후기에는 지연시킴을 알 수 있었다. 수축의 속도는 적분형 Maxwell 유체에서 보 다 빠른 것을 알수 있었는데 이는 유체의 정지이력에 의한 것으로 판단되었다, 또한 Maxwell 유체내에서 기포가 수축할 경우 탄성에 의한 반동현상이 나타나며 반동이 점성에 의하여 감쇄될 때의 진폭과 주기는 비례함을 보였다.
