  • To investigate the developmental stages of dental and skeletal maturation by ages and the correlations among dental maturity, skeletal maturity of cervical vertebrae, and that of hand-and-wrist, the author used the cephalograms, orthopantomograms, and hand-and-wrist radiograms of 1055 patients (male 458, female 597) aged 7 to 20 years old. In the cephalograms, the skeletal maturity stages of each bone were mainly assessed by Hassel and Farman's cervical vertebrae maturation indicators (CVMI) method. In the orthopantomograms, the dental maturity stages of each tooth were mainly assessed by Nolla's tooth calcification stages method. In the hand-and-wrist radiograms, the skeletal maturity stages of each bone were mainly assessed by Fishman's skeletal maturity indicators (SMI) method. The results were as follows. 1. There was a high correlation among dental maturity, skeletal maturity of cervical vertebrae, and that of hand-and-wrist in the both sexes (P<0.001). 2. There was a high correlation (r=0.91-0.93) between skeletal maturity of cervical vertebrae and that of hand-and-wrist. 3. There was a high correlation (r>0.8) between skeletal maturity of hand-and-wrist and maturity of upper and lower canine, first premolar, and second premolar. 4. There was high a correlation(r=0.8) between skeletal maturity of cervical vertebrae and maturity of upper canine. 5. By the ages, dental maturity, skeletal maturity of cervical vertebrae, and that of hand-and-wrist were obtained in the both sexes. In summary, dental maturity, skeletal maturity of cervical vertebrae, and that of hand-and-wrist we of sufficient diagnostic worth as an index to predict adolescent growth.

  • The software architecture is an essential part of a software-intensive system. In addition, the architecture evaluation is a very important process and a cheap way to avoid a software disaster. This article introduces a new method to evaluate architecture by maturity levels. Maturity Models which are about software and software process, have gained wide scale acceptance over the last decade. We are applying these techniques to the software architecture and propose SW(Software Architecture Maturity appraisal Model). SAMM consists of six-levels. We expect that our maturity model SAMM describe the requirements that any architecture must have in order to improve its software architecture design and constitute a proven architecture within which to manage the improvement efforts. We can reduce our effort to design architecture, have a guideline to construct the high qualify architecture with SAMM, and evaluate architecture and make architecture level.

  • The maturity method in which the strength increase of cement concrete is expressed as a function of an intergral of the curing period and temperature of the concrete has often been applied to its strength prediction. For the purpose of the application of the maturity method to the compressive strength prediction for lightweight polymer mortars using an unsaturated polyester resin as a binder, the lightweight polymer mortars with various catalyst and accelerator contents, are prepared. tested for compressive strength, and the datum temperatures for the maturity equations are estimated. The maturity is calculated by using the maturity equations with the estimated datum temperature. The compressive strengths of the lighweight polymer mortars are predicted from the maturity-compressive strength relationships.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the career maturity of high school students was affected directly or indirectly by psychological separation from their mothers and through the mediation of self-concept. The subjects in this study were 496 juniors from regular high school in the city of Daegu, who included 243 boys and 253 girls. The measurements of this study were a career-maturity inventory, psychological separation inventory (PSI), and self-concept scale. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, career maturity had significantly positive correlation to conflictual independence from mothers for them. Second, as for the influence of psychological separation, and self-concept on career maturity, three variables, including competence self-concept, home self-concept, attitudinal independence from mothers, classroom self-concept, had significantly explanation of career maturity. Third, as a result of making a path analysis of the impact of psychological separation from mothers on career maturity through the medium of self-concept, conflictual independence gave a direct impact only, and its indirect effect was insignificant. The attitudinal independence showed both direct and indirect influences, for mothers had a significantly indirect impact only.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how software policy shows the moderating effects between organizational capability maturity and organizational performance. The software policy includes the proportions of development personnel and development budget that can affect organizational performance. It is important to empirically identify whether the ratios of budget and personnel, which are some of the main policy indexes of the organization can promote the causal relationship between organizational maturity and organizational performance. These personnel and budget may be assumed to affect the causal relationship between organizational capability maturity and organizational performance. The results of this study shows that the moderating effects of software policy are partially proved. The two policy indexes, personnel ratio and budget ratio, showed a moderating effect between process implementation and organizational performance, but did not show any moderating effect between quantitative management and organizational performance. This is because the companies participating in the survey are still in the early stages of quantitative process management and quantitative management does not show the differentiated results among the participating organizations. The significance of this study is as follows. In the academic aspect, the causal relationship between organizational maturity and organizational performance was examined empirically, and it was analyzed whether the two adopted policy indicators have a moderating effect between organizational maturity and organizational performance. On the practical side, the analysis suggested that the ratios of budget and personnel emphasized by the government or organization played a role of facilitating the organizational maturity and organizational performance.

  • Objectives This study was designed to find out the relationships between obesity and growth, skeletal maturity among children by analyzing body composition and bone age. Methods Subjects were composed of 577 children from six years to seventeen years of age, without any other diseases related to growth, were measured their body composition and bone age. Results As obesity index was increased, the RH-MPH(%) and skeletal maturity significantly was also increased. The RH-MPH(%) of the obesity group was significantly increased than that of normal weight group; the skeletal maturity was more increased in th obesity group. It means the recent height of obese children was more taller than that of inherited from the parents, while skeletal maturity of obese children was more rapidly progressing. The RH-MPH(%) was increased in children who revealed stage of second sexual character; skeletal maturity was decreased in children who developed secondary sexual character. Conclusions Obesity children might be taller than what it supposed to be. However, obesity could cause the increase of skeletal maturity. It means the growth plate of obese children has been closed early.

  • The maturity structure of corporate debt is one of the significant financing choices that a firm must make simultaneously while deciding how to finance its operational and investment decisions. Even though the capital structure is one of the scrutinized topics of interest in the corporate finance literature, scarce studies have investigated corporate debt maturity, even less so in the context of emerging markets. The choice of a suitable debt maturity structure is exceptionally relevant for firms. It can enable them to avoid mismatch by aligning assets in line with liabilities, addressing agency-related problems, sidestep the ill effects of cost of capital, and signaling the firms' earning quality and value. The study investigates the firm-specific and macroeconomic determinants significant for the debt maturity structure of Vietnamese corporate firms. A sample of 722 non-financial firms listed on the Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi Stock Exchange in Vietnam from 2007 to 2018 was taken to test the hypothesis. The study's methods fixed effects panel data analysis provides empirical evidence that firm size, firms' quality, liquidity, leverage, asset maturity, tax impact, and macro variables are significantly related to the debt maturity structure.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with career maturity among Korean high school students. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was adopted using secondary data from the 2012 Korean Welfare Panel Study (KoWePS). The participants were 496 high school students who completed the supplemental survey for children, which included items on career maturity, self-esteem, study stress, teacher attachment, relationship with parents, peer attachment, depression and anxiety. Descriptive statistics, the chi-square-test, the t-test, and a decision tree were used for data analysis. Results: The decision tree identified five final nodes predicting career maturity after forcing self-esteem as the first variable. The highest predicted rate of high career maturity was associated with high self-esteem, experience of career counseling, and high teacher attachment. The lowest predicted rate of high career maturity was associated with low self-esteem and low attachment to friends. Conclusion: Factors influencing career maturity were varied by levels of self-esteem in Korean high school students. Thus, it is necessary to develop different approaches to enhance career maturity according to levels of self-esteem.

  • The debt maturity structure has a significant impact on a company's financial situation. Any debt maturity structure decisions substantially impact investment decisions due to changes in capital cost and dividend decisions due to cash flow consequences. This study used the system generalized method of moment (Sys-GMM) to investigate the debt maturity structure of real estate companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) in the duration from 2008 to 20019. It found that the firm size, liquidity, and tangible assets affected the decision on debt maturity structure. The tangible asset had the most significant impact on the possibility for companies to access long-term loans. This finding revealed that the majority of the real estate companies listed on HOSE borrowed money from banks. Such decisions are most likely affected by the collateral. Another finding of the study is that financial institutions had a major impact on loan maturity structure, whereas the effects of the financial market were negligible. Besides, the real estate companies listed on HOSE seemed not to pay attention to changes in inflation, economic growth, and institutional qualities when deciding on the debt maturity structure.
