  • This paper addresses a new method of blind source separation (BSS) when sources are nonstationary signals. Our method requires only multiple correlation matrices of the observed data at several time-windowed data frames to estimate the mixing matrix. In contrast to most existing BSS methods where higher-order statistics is necessary, our method is based on only second-order statistics. In the framework of correlation matching, we develop a new BSS algorithm. The useful behavior of the proposed method is verified by numerical experiments.

  • 본 연구는 크로마토그래피적 방법에 의한 단백질 분리를 규모화시키기 위한 기초적인 실험을 행한 것이다. 단백질 분리를 위해서 화학적 처리된 폴리에틸렌섬유를 미국 Millipore사의 여과 Cartridge에 장착시키고, 그 시스템에서 단백질인 5%의 Bovine Serum Albumin을 통과시켜 섬유 표면의 단백질 흡착능력과 결합 가역성 등을 관찰하였다. 또한 실험자료들을 Omega 프로그램이 내장된 컴퓨터와 맥킨토시의 Kaleidagraph로 자료처리 한 것을 보여주었다.

  • Injection molding is a very important industrial process for the manufacturing of plastics objects. During an injection molding process of composites, the fiber-matrix separation and fiber orientation are caused by the flow of molten polymer/fiber mixture. As a result, the product tends to be nonhomogeneous and anisotropic. Hence, it is very important to clarify the relations between separation' orientation and injection molding conditions. So far, there is no research on the measurement of fiber orientation using image processing. In this study, the effects of fiber content ratio and molding condition on the fiber orientation-angle distributions are studied experimentally. Using the image processing method, the fiber orientation distribution of weld-line in injection-molded products is assessed. And the effects of fiber content and injection mold-gate conditions on the fiber orientation are also discussed.

  • Carbon-silica membranes were Prepared by Pyrolyzing polyimide/silica composite obtained from ill-situ polymerization of alkoxy silanes via sol-gel reaction. In this study, effects of silica content and silica network in polyimide matrix were focused on the gas permeation and separation properties of the final carbon-silica membrane. The membranes prepared were characterized with a field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), a solid state $^{29}$ Si nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy ($^{29}$ Si-NMR), an electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA), a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and gas permeation tests.

Affinity Separations Using Microfabricated Microfluidic Devices: In Situ Photopolymerization and Use in Protein Separations

  • The use of microfabricated microfluidic devices offers significant advantages over current technologies including fast analysis time and small reagent requirements. In the context of proteomic research, the possibility of using affinity-based separations for prefractionation of samples using microfluidic devices has significant potential. We demonstrate the use of microscale devices to achieve affinity separations of proteins using a device fabricated from borosilicate glass wafers. Photolithography and wet etching are used to pattern individual glass wafers and the wafers are fusion bonded at 650$^{\circ}C$ to obtain enclosed channels. A polymer has been successfully polymerized in situ and used either as a frit for packing beads or, when derivatized with Cibacron Blue 3GA, as a separation matrix. Both of these technologies are based on in situ UV photopolymerization of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) in channels.

염산지페프를 마이크로캅셀에 관한 생물약제학적 연구 (Biopharmaceutical Studies on Zipeprol Dihydrochloride Microcapsules)

  • Poorly permeable $Eudragit^{\circledR}$ RS 100 polymer was used as a wall material for the microencapsulation of zipeprol dihydrochloride by a phase separation method from chloroform-cyclohexane system with 5% polyisobutylene in cyclohexane, and microcapsules obtained were evaluated in vitro by particle size analysis, scanning electron microscopy, drug release test and in vivo bioavailability test in rats. The mechanism of drug release from microcapsules appeared to fit Higuchi matrix model kinetics. The area under the first moment of plasma concentration-time curve of the microcapsules obtained was considerably increased (p<0.05) as compared with that from zipeprol dihydrochloride oral solution. Therefore, it may be suggested that $Eudragit^{\cirledR}$ RS 100 coated zipeprol dihydrochloride microcapsules can be used as a sustained release medication.

Characteristics of ethylcellulose microcapsules of sulfisoxazole

  • Sulfisoxazole, a chemotherapeutic agent, was microencapsulated with ethylcellulose by means of phase separation form cyclohexane by temperatture change. The size distribution was determined by use of standard sieves and the effect of core to wall ratio was noted. To examine their shapes and usrface characteristics, the microcapsules were observed with a scanning electron microscope. Release of the drug from microcapsules into pH 7.5 buffer medium was studied. The release pattern was found to have similar properties to the release of a drug from an insoluble porous matrix reported. The apparent diffusion coefficient of sulfisoxazole was measured for the transport of the drug from the core of microcapsules into the surronding sink condition. The apparent diffusion coefficient increased with increasing capsule size.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce and study a class of coupled systems of fuzzy delay differential equations involving fuzzy initial values and fuzzy source functions of triangular type. We assume that these initial values and source functions are triangular fuzzy functions and define solutions of the coupled systems as a triangular fuzzy function matrix consisting of real functional matrices. The method of triangular fuzzy function, fractional steps and fuzzy terms separation are used to solve the problems. Furthermore, we prove existence and uniqueness of solution for the considered systems, and then a solution algorithm is proposed. Finally, we present an example to illustrate our main results and give some work that can be done later.

CO2/N2 분리를 위한 Pebax 혼합막에서 Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-7의 영향 (Effect of Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-7 in Pebax Mixed Matrix Membrane for CO2/N2 Separation)

  • 본 연구는 대표적 poly(ether-b-amide)인 Pebax-1657과 Pebax-2533에 합성된 zeolitic imidazolate framework-7 (ZIF-7)을 넣어 혼합막을 제조하고, 단일기체 N2, CO2에 대한 투과 성질을 조사하였다. 기체투과 결과에서, N2의 경우 Pebax-1657/ZIF-7 혼합막과 Pebax-2533/ZIF-7 혼합막 모두 ZIF-7 혼입에 따라 투과도가 감소하는 비슷한 현상을 보였지만, CO2 투과도의 경우는 고분자에 종류에 따라 조금 다른 경향을 보였다. Pebax-1657/ZIF-7 혼합막의 경우는 ZIF-7의 0~3 wt% 함량 범위에서 CO2 투과도가 감소하다가 그 이후 함량에서 투과도가 증가하였고, Pebax-2533/ZIF-7 혼합막의 경우는 ZIF-7의 0~5 wt% 함량 범위에서 CO2 투과도 증가 없이 감소하였다. CO2/N2 선택도의 경우 두 혼합막 모두 ZIF-7의 함량이 많아짐에 따라 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 특히 Pebax-2533/ZIF-7 5 wt%은 다른 혼합막들에 비해 가장 좋은 투과 성능을 보였다. 이는 ZIF-7이 Pebax-1657보다 Pebax-2533에 더 좋은 호환성을 보이며 CO2에 대한 선택적인 특성이 잘 나타났기 때문으로 생각된다.

천연 식물 추출물에서 Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 활성 억제제의 분리 및 특성화에 관한 연구 (A study on separation and characterization of matrix metalloproteinase-9 inhibitors from natural plants)

  • 천연 식물 추출물로 처리한 matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)의 저해능 실험에서 귀전우 (Euonymus alatus)의 methanol 가용성 분획이 matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-9) 활성에 저해능이 있는 것으로 나타났다. Silica gel column에서 ethyl acetate와 hexane의 혼합비를 달리하는 방법으로 다섯 개의 부분으로 분획하였고 그 중에서 세 개의 분획이 MMP-9 활성에 저해능이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 인체 간암 세포인 Hep3B 세포주와 인체 정상 세포인 Chang 세포주를 같은 조건으로 키운 후 형태학적 변화를 관찰한 결과, 귀전우의 메탄올 추출물로 처리한 세포에서만 핵의 주위에 검은 반점이 넓게 분포되어 있는 것이 관찰되었다. 인체 정상 세포주에 대한 독성 확인 실험에서 대부분의 메탄올 가용성 분획은 독성을 나타내지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
