The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of NIE instruction in learning mathematics. There are two groups. The one group is an experimental group which is assigned to use NIE in learning mathematics for 10 weeks. The other group is a controlled group which is received only ordinary teaching methods. The results of this study are as follows. 1. There is no significant difference in learning achievement between the experimental group and the controlled group in significant level 0.05. 2. There are some difference in mathematical disposition between two groups. That is, the students of experimental group learned NIE are not changed in mathematical disposition. However, the other group takes on negative attitude in a mathematical disposition. Considering that as the students go up higher grade, their mathematical disposition become negative, using NIE in mathematics education is valuable to prevent the negative disposition to the mathematics. 3. There are some difference between two groups in the open-ended problem test in significant level 0.05. Although using NIE has little effects in the ordinary test methods, NIE has some effects in the test which require communication ability.

We study on the mathematical disposition of mathematically gifted students in the middle school of Korea. For this purpose, we use a tool which is a psychological test about disposition of mathematics disliking. The tool was developed by Kim et al. (2001: Studies on Exploring Mathematics Disliking Factors and Devising Tools to Analyze Students' Disliking Trends about School Mathematics. J. Korea Soc. Math. Ed. Ser. A Mathematical Education. 40(2), 217-239) to analyze the mathematical disposition of underachievers and we investigate the characteristic of it.

본 연구는 수학에 관한 편지 쓰기가 고등학생의 수학적 의사소통 및 성향에 미치는 영향에 대해서 알아보는데 있다. 고등학교 1학년 2개 학급을 대상으로 1개 반을 실험반으로 다른 1개 반을 비교반으로 나누어 2개월간 연구하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 그 결과는 수학에 관한 편지 쓰기를 수학과 수업에 적용한 실험반이 교과서 중심의 학습 지도 방법을 적용한 비교반보다 수학적 의사소통 및 성향을 신장시키는데 효과적임이 나타났다. 실제로 수학에 관한 편지 쓰기를 통해 고등학생들은 성취감을 느끼고 반성적 사고를 하게 되며, 수학적 이해과정에 도움을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 수학에 관한 편지 쓰기는 학생들이 학습태도를 긍정적으로 바꾸며 수업에 적극적으로 참여하게 하였다. 그러나 자신의 생각이 노출되는 것에 대한 부담을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 후속연구에서는 충분한 사전 조사로 수학에 관한 편지 쓰기의 횟수와 시간을 잘 결정하고 연구 기간을 충분히 잡아 학생들의 변화를 지속적으로 관찰하며 평가와의 연계로 학생들의 적극적인 참여를 유도할 필요가 있다고 본다.

본 연구에서는 초등학교 6-가 단계 수학 교과에 사이버가정학습을 적용한 후, 수학 학업성취도와 수학적 성향에 미치는 효과를 분석함으로써 학생들의 전반적인 수학 학습에 대한 학업성취도와 수학적 성향을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다.

본 연구에서는 2007 개정 교육과정 이후 강조하고 있는 의사소통을 향상하는 방안을 모색하고 이를 수업에 적용하여 그 결과 학생들의 수학적 성향과 학업성취도에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 이 실험은 대구광역시 달서구 1학년 2개 반 각 24명을 대상으로 실험 반에는 의사소통 중심 수업을, 비교 반에는 전통적인 수업을 1학기 8주간 실시하였다. 학생들이 수학적 의사소통에 익숙하도록 하기 위하여 의사소통 전략을 구안 적용하였으며, 그 구체적 방법은 수정하여 재 진술하기, 질문하기와 요약하기, 발표 수신호 등이다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 의사소통 중심 수학 수업은 학생들의 수학적 성향 중 문제 해결 의지, 수학에 대한 가치 이해에서 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 의사소통 중심 수학 수업이 기존 형태의 학업성취도 평가에는 영향을 미치지 않았다.

본 연구에서는 초등학교 5학년 학생들을 대상으로 구조중심 협동학습을 적용한 문제 만들기 학습이 수학학업성취도 및 수학적 성향에 어떠한 효과가 있는지를 분석하여 초등학교 학습지도에 도움을 줄 수 있는 교수-학습 방법을 제공하기 위한 것이다. 여기서 활용한 문제 만들기 학습 유형은 송민정(2004)의 내용을 참고로 하였으며, 협동학습 구조를 수업 시에 적절히 활용함으로써 학생들에게 수학에 대한 관심과 흥미를 유발시켜서 학업성취도 및 수학적 성향에 긍정적인 영향이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

This study looked at how content reviews with mathematical games in class would influence the mathematical disposition of middle school students. In doing so, three games adapted from prior research were used as a supplementary instruction after school hours over three months. The mathematical topics of the games involved concepts of probability and trigonometry at the middle school level. The results of the pre- and post-survey on mathematical disposition indicate that incorporating mathematical games appeared to have some positive impacts on whether students might be more eager to learn mathematics and actually put more effort in learning materials.

본 연구에서는 고등학생들의 수학 학습양식, 성격기질별 특징을 확인하고 각 성격기질별로 수학학습 전략을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 375명의 고등학교 1학년 학생들을 대상으로 MBTI 성격유형 검사, 수학학습 선호도 조사를 실시하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 많은 학생들이 사교육의 효과를 높게 평가하고 교과서보다는 참고서를 활용한 수학학습을 더 선호하였다. 둘째, 학습 태도, 학습 습관(개념이해 집중도), 문제해결 전략(문제이해 노력, 다양한 전략 사용), 자기 관리(메타인지) 영역에서 성격기질에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 확인되었다. 셋째, SJ형 학생들은 마인드맵 등의 학습 전략, SP형 학생들은 장,단기 학습목표를 꾸준히 실천하는 전략이 필요하다. NT형 학생들은 SRN(자기성찰노트)이나 수학일지를 활용한 학습 전략, NF형 학생들은 논리적 근거를 제시하는 수학학습 노트 쓰기 활동과 대수 학습에 더 많은 시간 투자가 필요하다.

급변하는 사회 환경에 따라 학교교육도 다양성을 추구하고 있는 가운데 교실 내에서도 획일적인 수업이 아니라 학생의 수준에 따라 교육과정을 편성하여 운영하도록 요구되는 추세이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학교 6학년 학급 내 기존의 수업방법에서 탈피하고, 개정 제7차 수학과 교육과정에서 강조하고 있는 수준별 수업을 현장에 적용하기 위해 실험집단을 상, 하 집단으로 편성하여 각 집단에 맞는 수준별 수업 프로그램을 구안하여 적용한 후, 수학 학업성취도 및 수학적 성향에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 이 연구는 개정 제7차 수학과 교육과정이 추구하는 목적을 사전에 적용하여 분석해 봄으로써 교실에서 수준별 수업의 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was providing implications in teaching and learning activities to vitalize mathematical communication and to raise positive attitudes about mathematics. We analyzed mathematical communication, disposition and attitudes of the students who had lower mathematical achievement rather than that of Korean language in class using reading materials and strategies. We found that teaching-learning activities using the reading materials and strategies let the low achievers in mathematics communicate more about mathematical notions and problem-solving process actively. The activities triggered interests and attention of mathematics and self-study. In addition, the lessons with reading materials and strategies aroused confidence, will and responsibility to mathematics learning to the students. They made the learners notice mathematics' values and roles and gave the opportunity of reflection about students' learning processes. As a result, the teaching-learning using reading materials and strategies should be developed and accomplished actively in classroom to turn mathematical inclination and attitudes of the students who had had negative inclination and attitudes to mathematics into those of positive and to vitalize mathematical communication to the lower achievers in mathematics.
