Visco-elastic damping material for reducing heavy-weight floor impact noise and vibration in reinforced concrete structures was tested according to its thickness in the damping layer. The effect of damping material was compared with 20, 15, 10 and 5mm thickness. The wave propagation characteristics was measured for suggestion of an efficient method to reduce the floor impact noise. The method was proposed using the flexural wave propagation characteristics. The result showed that reduction of the thickness of damping layer made a slight difference; the natural frequency moved to higher frequency and the amplitude increased at low frequencies with 5mm thickness of damping material.
We have synthesized poly(3-hexylthiophene) and studied the optical properties of P3HT for applying to the red emitting materials of organic electroluminescent device. Usually, an organic EL device is composed of single layer like anode/emitting layer/cathode, but additional layer such as hole transport, electron transport and buffer layer is deposited to improve device efficiency. In this study, Multilayer EL devices were fabricated using tris(8-hydroxyquinolinate) aluminum($Alq_3$) as electron transport material, (N,N'-diphenyl-N,,N'(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'diamine))(TPD) as hole transport/electron blocking materials and LiF as buffer layer. That is, a device structure of ITO/blending layer(TPD+P3HT)/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al was employed. In the Multilayer device, the luminance of $10{\mu}W/cm^2$ obtained at 10V. And, we present the experimental evidence of the enhancement of the Foster energy transfer interaction in emitting layer.
The laminar boundary layer flow and heat transfer of anisotropic fluids in the vicinity of a wedge have been examined with constant surface temperature. The similarity variables found by Falkner and Skan are employed to reduce the stream wise-dependence in the coupled nonlinear boundary layer equations. The numerical solutions are presented using the fourth-order Runge - Kutta method and the distribution of velocity, micro-rotation, shear and couple stresses and temperature across the boundary layer are plotted. These results are also compared with the corresponding flow problems for Newtonian fluid over wedges. It is found that for a constant wedge angle, the skin friction coefficient is lower for micropolar fluid, as compared to Newtonian fluid. For the case of the constant material parameter K, however, the magnitude of velocity for anisotropic fluid is greater than that of Newtonian fluid. The numerical results also show that for a constant wedge angle with a given Prandtl number, Pr = I, the effect of increasing values of K results in increasing thermal boundary layer thickness for anisotropic fluid, as compared with Newtonian fluid. For the case of the constant material parameter K, however, the heat transfer rate for anisotropic fluid is lower than that of Newtonian fluid.

Layer transfer process has emerged as a promising tool in the field of thin silicon solar cell technology. This process can use mono-crystalline silicon as a surface for the epitaxial growth of a thin layer of silicon. It requires some sort of surface conditioning of the substrate due to which the surface become suitable for homo-epitaxy and lift off after solar cell fabrication. The successful reuse of substrate has been reported. The use of the conditioned surface without any kind of epitaxial layer growth is also the issue to be addressed. This review paper basically describes the five most cost effective methods on which works are in progress. Several types of possible problems envisaged by different research groups are also incorporated here with necessary discussion. Work in Korea has already started in this area in collaboration IC Design and Fabrication Centre, Jadavpur University, India and that also has been mentioned.

Melting characteristics of unrestrained liquid ice in a rectangular vessel with heated top wall were investigated experimentally. The liquid ice, a mixture of ice particles and ethylene-glycol aqueous solution, was adopted as a testing material. During the melting process the liquid ice was drawn by buoyancy to the heated top wall of the rectangular vessel where close-contact melting occured. The melting behavior and melting rate of the liquid ice as well as local/mean heat-transfer coefficient at the heated top wall were observed and measured under a variety of conditions of heat flux and various initial concentration of the aqueous binary solution. It was found that the heat transfer of the heated top wall is remarkably promoted by the close-contact melting, and that the dendritic frozen layer at the lower interface of the liquid ice is formed. Photographic evidence demonstrated that plumes containing solute-rich liquid issued from isolated chimneys within the liquid ice layer where segregation of interstitial channel took place.
Comparing the absorption volume of test pieces immersed over time in room temperature moisture with weight, WF absorbed about 40% more than PLAIN, and PLAIN stopped absorbing after 10 minutes, but WF continued to absorb. It is thought that the woven fabric layer of the core material continued to absorb moisture. In the heat transfer test, the test piece to which only WF was applied had a temperature difference of about 2℃ compared to PLAIN, and when the insulating liquid was sprayed, there was a difference in heat transfer properties of up to 5℃. This is judged to have low heat transfer properties of the basic woven fabric, but the heat insulating liquid also further reduces heat transfer properties.
Friction characteristics of automotive friction materials containing different metallic fibers rubbing against Al-MMC and cast iron disk specimens have been studied. Friction materials containing aluminum, copper or low steel carbon fiber were tested. Friction tests were composed of three different phases to investigate the effect of temperature, pressure, speed, and drag time. The results showed that the friction material containing Al fibers has lower friction force and wear amount than the others with Cu or Steel fiber. On the other hand, the wear of friction material was severe in the case of using Al-MMC rotors. These results showed that the thermal decomposition of solid lubricants (and organic components), formation of transfer layer, and SiC particles in the AI-MMC rotor play crucial roles in determining the friction characteristics.
We have fabricated transparent and flexible thin film transistor(TFT) on polyethylene terephthalate(PET) substrate using Zinc Oxide (ZnO) and Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) film as active layer and electrode. The transfer printing method was used for printing the device layer on target plastic substrate at room temperature. This approach have an advantage to separate the high temperature annealing process to improve the electrical properties of ZnO TFT from the device process on plastic substrate. The resulting devices on plastic substrate presented mechanical and electrical properties similar with those on rigid substrate.
The Organic Electroluminescence (OEL) device, that was consisted of ALq3(8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum) and TPD(N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine), has been used. We investigated characteristics of brightness and current density about OEL that was oxidated each layers. We used two samples that were fabricated each continuous and non-continuous method. Emission was observed above 10mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and luminance was measured to be 1530cd/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at a current density of 100mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$. A luminance of over 2600cd/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was also observed after the final fabrication process.
In this work, the effect of sputtering working pressure for the tellurium film and its thin-film transistor was investigated. The transfer characteristics of tellurium thin-film transistors were improved by increasing the working pressure during sputtering process. As increasing working pressure, physical and optical properties of Te films such as crystallinity, transmittance, and surface roughness were improved. Therefore, the improved transfer characteristics of Te thin-film transistors may originate from both improved interface properties between the silicon oxide gate dielectric layer and the tellurium active layer with an improved quality of Te film. In conclusion, the control of working pressure during sputtering would be important for obtaining high-performance tellurium-based thin film transistor
