Design and Fabrication of Novel Linear Ultrasonic Motor (선형 초음파 모터 설계 및 제작)

  • In the paper, the novel linear ultrasonic motor for precision position control was designed and fabricated. It was composed of two piezoelectric actuators with longitudinal ultrasonic fluctuations and shaking beam. When two AC electric fields ($Usin{\omega}t$, $Ucos{\omega}t$) were applied in two piezoelectric actuators respectively, the middle part of shaking beam had an elliptical trajectory. According to experimental results, good symmetrical characteristic of two piezoelectric actuators were obtained.

Static Deformation Analysis and Dynamic Characteristics Predicton of Compressed Rubber Materials (압축된 고무재료의 정적 변형 해석과 동특성 예측)

  • The effect of static preload on the dynamic properties of rubber materials is rather important, especially when good isolation characteristics are required at high frequencies. However, there are still few papers for dynamic characteristics of compressed rubber components. It was demonstrated in reference (4) that for bonded rubber material of a cylindrical shape, a simplified theory equation between linear dynamic and nonlinear static behavior of rubber material was useful to predict their combined effects. This paper presents the second part of the study. It is confirmed that for the compressed rubber material, the stress can be factored into a function of frequency and a function of strain(stretch). The finite element methodis applied to analyze non-linear large deformation of rubber material and its results are compared with those of a simplified theory equation. The predicted dynamic material properties based on non-linear static finite element analyses have a good agreement of experimental results and those based on simplified theory equation.

Variation of Transient-response in Open-ended Microstrip Lines with Optically-controlled Microwave Pulses

  • In this paper we develop a method to observe faults in semiconductor devices and transmission lines by calculating the variation of the reflection function in a dielectric microstrip line that has an open-ended termination containing an optically induced plasma region. It is analyzed with the assumption that the plasma is distributed homogeneously in laser illumination. With the non linear material of degradation, the concentration of the carrier in the part of the material has changed. Since the input wave has produced the phenomenon of reflection, the input signal to the open-ended microstrip lines can be observed on reflection to identify the location of the fault. The characteristic impedances resulting from the presence of plasma are evaluated by the transmission line model. The variation of the reflection wave in the microwave system has been calculated by using an equivalent circuit model. The transient response has been also evaluated theoretically for changing the phase of the variation in the reflection. The variation of characteristic response in differentially localized has been also evaluated analytically.

  • Patients with rheumatoid arthritis of any degree of severity or duration may develop necrotizing granulomatous pleuritis, a morphologic replica of the inflammatory reaction characteristic of rheumatoid synovitis and rheumatoid nodules. The principal feature is the background composed of granular, amorphous, particulate material or debris of various hues. The material is sometimes eosinophilic sometimes more cyanophilic, or even green in the Papanicolaou stain. Within this background are elongated, fibroblast-like epithelioid cells, numerous multinucleated giant cells and degenerating leukocytes. The combination of the debris, spindle epithelioid ceils, and multinucleated giant cells in fluid is pathognomonic for rheumatoid pleuritis. We experienced a hcase of rheumatoid pleuritis showing these characteristic cytologic findings. The patient was a 63 year-old man with positive rheumatoid factor. The pleual fluid specimen revealed elongated epithelioid cells and multinucleated giant cells on a background of amorphous granular material.

  • Recently days, High Accelerated Life Test of electrical and electronic parts is increasing its importance. This study set the hypothesis to develop the method that was analysis and application of HALT for the automotive electrical and electronic parts, it used Arrhenius's Model and Eyring's Model, and ESS theory. Validity of application is proved by other test data. Especially, this study emphasis on utility of acceleration to temperature, humidity, voltage, mechanical stress and other stress. In this study set the pattem of practical application. Therefore, this study emphasis on the application of the HALT and the use of other parameter by acceleration reliability test data. The result of this study is as follows. 1) There is relationship between molar weight and material constant. 2) Characteristic of material is operating acceleration factor as well as parts failure factors. Of course, according to the characteristic of material, activation energy is often more important than molar weight. But it will be defined by more testing and improvements in practical application.

  • This paper describes the development of a small lens molding system for manufacturing the small lens like lens of a cellular phone, a small digital camera and so on. In order to manufacture a small lens, firstly, the raw material for lens with spherical shape should be manufactured by processing a glass material, secondly, the mold inserted the raw material for lens should be heated till its molding temperature in the electric furnace, finally, the small lens is manufactured by applying the force using pressuring control system. In this paper, the small lens molding system with the function of force control and velocity control was developed. It is composed of an electric furnace and its temperature control system, a pressuring control system, a body, and so on. The temperature characteristic test of the electric furnace, the force and velocity characteristic test of the pressuring control system were carried out. It was confirmed that the developed system had good functions for manufacturing a small lens.

  • In this experiment, OLEDs(Organic Light Emitting Diodes) was fabricated to confirm effect of Plasma treatment which increase the hole injection characteristic from anode. Device structure was $ITO/2-TNATA/{\alpha}-NPD/DPVBi/BAlq/Alq_3/Al:Li$. We used DPVBi (4, 4 - Bis (2,2-diphenylethen-1-yls) - Biphenyl) as a blue emitting material. To optimize the process condition of plasma treatment, we used 2 gases of the oxygen and nitrogen gas under 120 mTorr with 100 W, 200 W, and 400 W plasma power. The current efficiency of $N_2$ plasma is more efficient than that of $O_2$ plasma. At $1000 cd/m^2$, we obtained the maximum current efficiency of 6.45 cd/A using $N_2$ gas with 200 W plasma power.

Characteristics of OLED by co-evaporation methode (Co-evaporation methode에 의한 OLED의 발광 특성)

  • In this study, We fabricated Organic Electroluminescence device, in order to improve the efficiency of Blue OLED in the full-color OLED. We made two sample. Sample A is that We used TPD(N,N‘-bis(3-methylphenyl)-N,N'-diphenylbenzidine} as hole transport layer(HTL), and Butyl-PBD(2-(4-Biphenylyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole) as emitting material layer(EML) and Alq3(8-Hydroxyquinoline, aluminum} as electron transport layer(ETL). Sample B is that we used TPD(N, N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-N,N'-diphenylbenzidine} as HTL and co-evaporated Butyl-PBD and Alq3 as EML. We investigated the characteristic of brightness and current-:voltage. The sample B that co-evaporated Butyl-PBD and Alq3 as EML improved characteristic of brightness and current-voltage than sample A. Maximum luminescence of sample B is $310cd/m^2$ and threshold voltage is 7V.
