Image matching is fundamental process in photogrammetry and computer vision to identify and to measure corresponding features on the multiple images. Uniqueness of the matching entities and robustness of the algorithm are the key issues that have influence on quality of the matching result. The optimal solution could be obtained by utilizing appropriate matching entities in the first place. In this study, candidate matching points were extracted by interest operator, and an area-based matching method was applied with characteristics of the gray value distribution as the matching entities. The characteristic information is based on the concept of "intrinsic image" (or parameter image). The information was utilized as additional and/or complementary matching entities. Matching on interest points with the characteristic information resulted in high quality of matching because matching windows were created with surrounding pixels of the interest points that contain distinct and unique features. The experiment shows that matching quality and reliability increase by exploiting interest operator, and the characteristic information has potential to be matching entity.
Matching customers becomes the key function in on-line mediate services. There are two matching methods: one-directional matching that requires requests from one side(e,g., information searching), bi-directional matching that considers requests from both sides. Previous bi-directional matching has difficulties of getting the interests explicitly and service collapse problems when the opposite side do not put responding interests. This paper attempts to automate the inputs of interests for bi-directional matching by calculating the interests with fuzzy matching algorithm for optimization. The results of the proposed Bi-directional Fuzzy Matching(BDFM) algorithm told that the job placement accuracy of employment information matching results is over 95%. And, BDFM gives statically significant positive effect for motivating the employment activities when analyzed the effect after completing the implementation.
An active research area in computer vision, stereo matching is aimed at obtaining three-dimensional (3D) information from a stereo image pair captured by a stereo camera. To extract accurate 3D information, a number of studies have examined stereo matching algorithms that employ adaptive support weight. Among them, the adaptive census transform (ACT) algorithm has yielded a relatively strong matching capability. The drawbacks of the ACT, however, are that it produces low matching accuracy at the border of an object and is vulnerable to noise. To mitigate these drawbacks, this paper proposes and analyzes the features of an improved stereo matching algorithm that not only enhances matching accuracy but also is also robust to noise. The proposed algorithm, based on the ACT, adopts the truncated absolute difference and the multiple sparse windows method. The experimental results show that compared to the ACT, the proposed algorithm reduces the average error rate of depth maps on Middlebury dataset images by as much as 2% and that is has a strong robustness to noise.

In this paper we propose a new stereo matching algorithm which is suitable for application to obtain depth information with high-speed in stereoscopic camera environment. For satisfying these condition we propose a new adaptive stereo matching technique using frequency information in discrete wavelet (DWT) domain and variable matching window. The size of the matching window is selected by analysis of the local property of the image in spatial domain and the feature and scaling factor of the matching window is selected by the frequency property in the frequency domain. For using frequency information we use local DWT and global DWT. We identified that the proposed technique has better peak noise to signal ratio (PSNR) than the fixed matching techniques with similar complexity.

Semantic-based information retrieval techniques understand the meanings of the concepts that users specify in their queries, but the traditional semantic matching methods based on the ontology tree have three weaknesses which may lead to many false matches, causing the falling precision. In order to improve the matching precision and the recall of the information retrieval, this paper proposes a multi-agent improved semantic similarity matching algorithm based on the ontology tree, which can avoid the considerable computation redundancies and mismatching during the entire matching process. The results of the experiments performed on our algorithm show improvements in precision and recall compared with the information retrieval techniques based on the traditional semantic similarity matching methods.

A heuristic with multi-byte suffix matching plays an important role in real pattern matching algorithms. By skipping many characters at a time in the process of comparing a given pattern with the text, the pattern matching algorithm based on a heuristic with multi-byte suffix matching shows a faster average search time than algorithms based on deterministic finite automata. Based on various experimental results and simulations, the previous works show that the pattern matching algorithms with multi-byte suffix matching performs well. However, there have been limited studies on the mathematical model for analyzing the performance in a standard manner. In this paper, we propose a new probabilistic model, which evaluates the performance of a heuristic with multi-byte suffix matching in an average-case search. When the theoretical analysis results and experimental results were compared, the proposed probabilistic model was found to be sufficient for evaluating the performance of a heuristic with suffix matching in the real pattern matching algorithms.

Statistical matching is a method of combining multiple sources of data that are extracted or surveyed from the same population. It can be used in situation when variables of interest are not jointly observed. It is a low-cost way to expect high-effects in terms of being able to create synthetic data using existing sources. In this paper, we propose the several statistical micro matching methods using a multinomial logistic regression model when all variables of interest are categorical or categorized ones, which is common in sample survey. Under conditional independence assumption (CIA), a mixed statistical matching method, which is useful when auxiliary information is not available, is proposed. We also propose a statistical matching method with auxiliary information that reduces the bias of the conventional matching methods suggested under CIA. Through a simulation study, proposed micro matching methods and conventional ones are compared. Simulation study shows that suggested matching methods outperform the existing ones especially when CIA does not hold.

In this paper, adaptive matching method using the same features for rigid and deformable object images is proposed. Firstly, we determine whether the two images are matched or not using the geometric verification and generate the matching information. Decision boundary which separates deformable matching-pair from non-matching pair is obtained through statistical analysis of matching information. The experimental result shows that the proposed method lowers the computational complexity and increases the matching accuracy compared to the existing method.

In this Paper, we propose a new block matching a1gorithm that extracts motion vectors from consecutive range data. The proposed method defines a matching metric that integrates intensity, hue, and range. Our algorithm begins matching with a small matching template. If the matching degree is not good enough, we slightly expand the size of a matching template and then repeat the matching process until our matching criterion is satisfied or the predetermined maximum size has been reached. As the iteration proceeds, we adaptively adjust weights of the matching metric by considering the importance of each feature. In the experiments, we show that our block matching approach can work as a promising solution by comparing the proposed method with previously known method in terms of performance.

Data fusion is the process of combining multiple data in order to produce information of tactical value to the user. Data fusion is generally defined as the use of techniques that combine data from multiple sources and gather that information in order to achieve inferences. Data fusion is also called data combination or data matching. Data fusion is divided in five branch types which are exact matching, judgemental matching, probability matching, statistical matching, and data linking. In this paper, we develop was macro program for statistical matching which is one of five branch types for data fusion. And then we apply data fusion and association rule techniques to environmental data.
