Simulation for characterization of high speed probe for measurement of single flux quantum circuits (단자속양자 회로 측정프로브의 특성 분석을 위한 시뮬레이션)

  • High speed probe for measurement of sin91e flux quantum circuits is comprised of coaxial cables and microstrip lines in order to carry high speed signals without loss. For the impedance matching between coaxial cable and microstrip line, we have determined the dimension of the microstrip line with 50${\Omega}$ impedance by simulation and then have investigated the effect of line width and cross-sectional shape of signal line, dielectric material, thickness of soldering lead at the coaxial-to-microstrip transition Point, and the an91c between dielectric material and end part of the signal line on the characteristics of signal transmission of the microstrip line. From the simulation, we have found that these all parameter's had influenced on the characteristic of signal transmission on the microstrip line and should be reflected in fabricating high speed probe, We have also determined the dimension of coplanar waveguide to fabricate testing sample for performance test of high speed probe.

  • Printed microstrip antennas are known to have limitations in terms of bandwidth and efficiency all imposed by the presence of the dielectric substrate. In this paper, to overcome these limitations, rather than using a superstrate geometry, the printed circuit is etched out of metal and supported in "strategic points" by(metallic or nonmetallic) post. The main motivation for this work was to obtain the wide bandwidth microstrip antennal which exhibits a higher efficiency than conventional ones. In this paper, to increase the bandwidth, patch sizes, electrical thickness and impedance matching are considered.

  • The reactive ion etching (RIE) technology which enables nano-texturatization of surface is applied on monocrystalline silicon solar cell. The additional RIE process on alkalized textured surface further improves the blue response and short circuit current. Such parameter is characterized by surface reflectance and quantum efficiency measurement. By varying the RIE process time and matching the subsequent processes, the absolute efficiency gain of 0.13% is achieved. However, the result indicates potential efficiency gain could be higher due to process integration. The critical etch process time is discussed which minimizes both front surface reflectance and etching damage, considering the challenges of required system throughput in industry.

  • A simple and analytical design approach for input power matched CMOS RF LNA circuits and their scaling for lower power consumption, is introduced. In spite of the simplicity of our expressions, it gives excellent agreement with numerical simulation results using commercial CAD tools for several circuit examples performed at 2.4GHz using $0.18\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS technology. These simple and analytical results are extremely useful in that they can provide enough insights not only for designing any CMOS LNA circuits, but also for characterizing and diagnosing them whether being prototyped or manufactured.

  • In this paper, active frequency doubler with broadband characteristics and unconditional stability from 6GHz to 12GHz was designed and fabricated using PHEMT. The designed frequency multiplier has a bias point near pinch-off and a proposed RC circuit between bias line and input matching network for the improvement of stability. With 0dBm input power, second harmonic of 1.7dBm at 12GHz, - 27.5dBc suppression of 6GHz fundamental, -18dBc suppression of 18GHz 3rd harmonic and the output bandwidth of 1.8GHz have been measured.

  • In the paper, we confirmed improvement Noise figure of the entire RF front-end using spiral inductor with PGS(Patterned Ground Shield) and current bleeding techniques. LNA design is to achieve simultaneous noise and input matching. Spiral inductor in input circuit of LNA inserted PGS for betterment of Q-factor. we modeling inductor using EM simulator, so compared with inductor of TSMC 0.18um. We designed and simulation the optimum structure of PGS using Taguchi's method. We confirmed enhancement of noise figure at LNA after substituted for inductor with PGS. Mixer designed using current bleeding techniques for reduced noise. We designed LNA using inductor with PGS and Mixer using current bleeding techniques, so confirmed improvement of noise figure.

Study on conversion efficiency of RF-DC converter with series diode (직렬 연결 RF-DC 변환기의 변환효율에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we designed the RF-DC converter used in wireless power transmission system and studied how to design the RF-DC converter of high conversion efficiency. The RF-DC converter operate at 2.45GHz and the diode is connected with series. The RF-DC converter uses shorted stub for DC loop and matching. We can divide the RF-DC converter circuit into four blocks. The reflection coefficients between the blocks were optimized for the maximum conversion efficiency at 0 dBm input power and $1300{\Omega}$ load impedance. The final design of the RF-DC converter has a 52 percent conversion efficiency.

  • 소나 센서부 설계 시 개별 센서에 대한 정합회로의 선계는 전체 가중회로의 특성에 매우 큰 영향을 미친다. 피러나 많은 경우 정합회로를 설계하는데 있어서 경험에 의한 수작업으로 수행하거나 매우 간단한 모델을 설정하여 그것을 바탕으로 설계하는 예가 많다. 다양한 센서에 대해서 유연하게 대응하는데 한계를 갖고 있고 또 많은 오류를 동반하기 때문에 정합회로 설계에 많은 시행착오를 초래한다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 센서에 유연하게 대응하는 정합회로 설계 도구를 구성하는 첫 단계로써 실제 소나 센서의 특성 측정 및 그를 바탕으로 한 소자 모델링을 일괄 작업화 한 선계 프로그램을 구성하여, 그 구성과 기능에 대해서 선명하고자 한다.

  • 수중 음향 탐지 시스템에서 빔 형성 기법 및 개별 센서에 대한 정합회로의 설계는 실제 시스템 설계 시 시스템의 성능을 결정하는 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 이 두 가지 기법을 통합하고 있으면서 일반 사용자들도 쉽게 최적 빔 설계를 통한 가중치를 구하고 또 개별 소자에 대한 센서 임피던스 정합회로를 설계할 수 있도록 해주는 통합 S/W를 구현하였다. 본 프로그램을 이용하여 최적의 가중치를 구하고 그 가중치를 가지는 개별 센서의 정합회로를 일괄적으로 설계할 수 있다. 앞으로도 실제 사용자로부터 의견을 수렴하여 계속 성능을 보완할 예정이며 교육용이나 실제 산업용으로 사용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

  • The small-signal S-parameters of GaAs MESFET are measured in terms of frequencies and bias conditions. The resonating network and the load matching network of the fixed-frequency microwave oscillator analyzed by two-port network analysis are designed by the optimum method of CAD. The 6GHz oscillator circuit is built and tested on the microstrip substrates. Finally, it is verified that the experimenta results conformed to the optimum data by CAD.
