Development of the Men's Scuba Diving Suit Pattern by Using 3D Body-Scanned Data (3D 스캔데이터를 활용한 국내 남성용 스킨스쿠버복 패턴개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the pattern of scuba diving suits for local men in their thirties by using 3D body-scanned data. It is widely acknowledged that draping method is more suitable than flat pattern for body shape as most scuba diving suits in the market are designed to fit the body tightly in a single piece with sleeves and legs. A dummy for this study was made based on men's standard clothing sizes in 30's which was derived from data of 2004 Size Korea. Accordingly, the basic body block was built upon through draping method. Next, a scuba diving suit was made from neoprene, followed by fit and the clothing pressure tests in order to evaluate the diving suit's functionality and comfort. The results of the fit test had high points of 4.33 in majority parts except armhole and crotch ones. In comparison of clothing pressure between wearer and dummy, the clothing pressure of wearer was indicated relatively low in most parts other than armhole and knee, resulting from cushion function of skin and muscle and high stretch of fabric.

  • Recently. the market trend for marine diesel engine has involved the lower running speeds. larger stroke/bore ratio and higher combustion pressure. Consequently, because of the flexible engine shafting system due to the larger mass. inertia and the more elasticity, the complicated coupled torsional-axial vibrations have occurred in the operating speed range. Also, the vibrations act as an excitation on the hull-structural vibration. To predict the vibration behavior with more accuracy and reliability. many studies have proposed the several kinds of method to calculate the stiffness matrix of crankshaft. However, most of these methods have a weak point to spend much time on three dimensional modeling and meshing work for crankshaft. Therefore. in this work. the stiffness matrix for the crankthrow is calculated using the energy method (Influence Coefficient Method, ICM) with the each mass having 6 degree of freedom. Its effectiveness is verified through the comparison with the stiffness matrix obtained by using the finite element method (FEM) and measured results for actual ships propulsion system.

  • It is important to find the competitive priority, which makes a great contribution to the action plans. The reason is that this makes it possible to provide Korean manufacturers with effective behavioral model to break through the depression after 1997'financial crisis in Korea. Focused priority has become a focus of organizations faced with the need to survive in a highly uncertain business environment characterized by rapid technological change, global competition, and demanding customers. Many believe that better linkages of priority and action plans are fundamental to surviving in the world market. However, there was little previous research dealing with the relationship between the strategic priority and action plans in the view of competitive weapon. This study presents empirical findings on differences between U.S. and Korean manufacturing approach to relationship of priority and plans. Specially, Korean manufacturers are eager for good model to overcome depression of 1997' financial crisis in Korea. Data was collected as part of the Manufacturing Futures Project completed in 1996. The results indicate that U.S. manufacturers maintain focused linkages from priority to action plans than do Korean manufacturers.

  • Recently Chinese education market and social interest has been extended. Accordingly, smart learning based on smartphone applications became part of new educational paradigm. Also, there are more active research and development of applications for the Chinese language education. In this paper, we designed and implemented the smartphone functional application prototype for learning basic Chinese characters. Expression of Chinese characters, the comparison, listening in pronunciation, voice recording and listening, related content learning, and implement testing presented using casual user interface. In the future study, we will develop the prototype with user interface for learning Chinese conversation and individual index of evaluation can be effective learning Instrument without additional tools.

When considering overview from material viewpoint, fluorine resin system ceramic system polyurethane system pure with it is judged with the fact that it is excellent. There is a possibility of saying that the coefficient of friction of the fluorine resin system which uses the weapon quality zinc end coating compound ever so hard and polyurethane system is excellent ceramic system than from structure viewpoint. That fluorine resin system = polyurethane system ceramic system pure with it is excellent, it is judged from spatial-temporal characteristic viewpoint. It measures but it considered an internal troubles year grudge in the standard which becomes disturbance the place where it executes the market the expectation life person of the general bridge against 100 years the result fluorine resin system polyurethane system ceramic system which compares a materials unit cost pure with it appeared.

Performance Evaluation of a Parallel Flow Condenser for Automotive Air Conditioners (자동차 에어컨용 평행류 응축기의 성능평가)

  • The new shape of louver-fin has been applied to a parallel flow condenser to enhance air-side heat transfer rate lot an automotive air-conditioner R- l34a is employed as a refrigerant inside the flat tube of the condenser, This problem is of particular interest in reducing the geometric size of the automotive air conditioner The effect of air flow rate on pressure drop as well as heat transfer in air side are studied in detail. Comparison of the performance is also made with that of a conventional parallel flow condenser, which is available in the market. The results obtained indicate that the total pressure drop through the pre sent condenser is not changed, while the heat transfer rate is increased by 24% at high veto city of air flow, compared with those of the conventional condenser. The parallel flow condenser with a new shape of louver-fin could be reduced in size by 20% for the equivalent condenser capacity, compared with the conventional parallel flow condenser.

  • Consider a canning process where cans are filled with an expensive ingredient. Cans weighting above the specified limit are sold in a regular market for a fixed price, and underfilled cans are emptied and refilled at the expense of a reprocessing cost. In this paper, the effect of measurement error on the determination of the optimal process mean for a canning process is examined. It is assumed that the quantity X of ingredient in a can is normally distributed with unknown mean and known variance, and the observed value Y of X is also normally distributed with known mean and variance. A profit model is constructed which involves selling price. cost of ingredients, reprocessing cost. and cost from an accepted nonconforming can, and methods of finding the optimal process mean and the cutoff value on Y are presented. It is shown that the optimal process mean increases. and the expected profit decreases when the measurement error is relatively large in comparison to the process variance.

  • In this paper it is investigated how the number of work experiences is distributed among college graduates who have ever entered the labor market and built up career by turnover. To do so, we classified the type of work experience and, moreover, conduct ANOVA to explore wage differentials caused by the number of work experience and by the type of work experience, using the GOMS(graduates occupational mobility survey) from 2006 to 2007.

Synthesis of DOT Use of Beam End Protection for Extending the Life of Bridges

  • As the national transportation infrastructure ages and deteriorates, many existing bridges require frequent and costly maintenance and repairs. The objective of this work was to synthesize new and existing types of beam end coatings and treatments that have been proven to extend the life of new and existing concrete and steel bridge beams. A comprehensive literature review, along with online surveys and phone interviews of State department of transportations (DOTs) and coating manufacturers was conducted to gather information about existing and recently developed technologies. The study revealed that while many promising coatings and treatments are offered on the market, there is a lack of readily available laboratory results that would enable direct comparison of the available methods. This finding applies in terms of the coatings' durability and the potential for extending the service life of existing bridges. Most of the interviewed State DOTs' personnel assessed the products listed in respective DOT's Qualified Products Lists as performing 'well'. However, there was significant variability between states in the type of the products used. Among the agencies contacted, none was able to suggest the most promising or advanced products, either for concrete or steel bridge beam end treatments. This suggests that comprehensive laboratory evaluation would be necessary for selecting the best available beam end treatments and coatings.

Performance Comparison between LLVM and GCC Compilers for the AE32000 Embedded Processor

  • The embedded processor market has grown rapidly and consistently with the appearance of mobile devices. In an embedded system, the power consumption and execution time are important factors affecting the performance. The system performance is determined by both hardware and software. Although the hardware architecture is high-end, the software runs slowly due to the low quality of codes. This study compared the performance of two major compilers, LLVM and GCC on a32-bit EISC embedded processor. The dynamic instructions and static code sizes were evaluated from these compilers with the EEMBC benchmarks.LLVM generally performed better in the ALU intensive benchmarks, whereas GCC produced a better register allocation and jump optimization. The dynamic instruction count and static code of GCCwere on average 8% and 7% lower than those of LLVM, respectively.
