  • Recently as the environmental noise getting influential social problem, it is the fact that the demand on noise reduction increases with the advance of the standard of living. Therefore increasing the interest on the noise in common, it is eagerly demanded that the endeavour for reducing the noise of the rotating machinery, especially the machinery related a flowing including the household electric products, which is pointed out the primary noise source in environment. As proceeding study for fan noise, theory of fan noise property is arranged and this control method is shown. Blade passage noise of total noise spectrum. Thus in the aspect of noise reduction, noise source and identification of noise radiation characteristics of axial flow fan are demanded in detail. The sound source is analyzed by using sound pressure and sound intensity. In that time, synchronization of axial flow fan using optical sensor is executed, and to identify the location of exact noise source in the fan profile determination of recording time is proposed. In the rotating of tan, it is explained that the location of noise source exists in and by the directivity, the noise radiation pattern of axial flow fan is determined and the flow of sound is visualized in the figure of contour mapping.

  • The enterprise system is becoming more complex and larger. With the changes of the times, the system is developing to object-oriented programming method(OOP). However, the same code inserts to the core class repetitiously in the OOP, that causes a decrease in productivity and a trouble of application of another requirement. To solve this weak point, we propose a weaving mechanism what applies to metadata and crosscutting concern. For a class optimization and an integration between different languages, we take the following way. This paper uses three ways, those are, metadata generation using reflection, transformation to Abstract Syntax Tree, and mapping through crosscutting information specified XML. Through the proposed theory, class optimization can be accomplished by solving a functional decentralization and a confusion of codes.

  • Signals reduced from the brain had been considered as a noise that is caused by the stochastic process until 1980. The recent non-linear dynamic theory researches, however, reported that these signals are meaningful and deterministic chaos signals in which they show how the brain deals with various information Since this report, a wide range of researches has been carried out and still in progress. Thus, by using the correlational dimension, one of the non-linear analytical methods, the characteristics of the brain signals can be analyzed. In this thesis, the scent of lavender, which stimulates the olfactory sense, is introduced to measure EEG with the International 10-20 electrode system on 16 channels, and to analyze the interrelationship between the original signals before the stimulation and the changed signals after the stimulation. Finally, the effect of the scent stimulation to the brain is analyzed. The purpose of this thesis is to apply these analyzed results to the computerized mapping of the brain signals and possible ways of specifying the source of the brain signals through various medical applications.

  • The polarization characteristics of polarization-insensitive directional coupler based on double sandwiched rib-type and curved waveguides are explored in detail by using conformal transformation method (CTM) and longitudinal modal transmission-line theory(L-MTLT). To obtain the polarization-insensitive condition of polarization-insensitive curved directional coupler(PI-CDC), the coupling length and coupling efficiency according to the inner radius of PI-CDC are analyzed for quasi-TE and quasi-TM modes. The numerical results show that the PI-CDC with a few micrometer scales can be realized by properly choosing the curvature and structural and material parameters of double sandwiched layers. Furthermore, the mode profiles propagating through PI-CDC are evaluated, and the influence on coupler performance has been investigated.

  • Ontology-based approaches for automated information integration are being widely investigated. The existing approaches explicitly represent the semantics of information sources in ontologies and let the computer system, through aligning or merging the source ontologies, provide a global view of information sources. The problem of aligning or merging different ontologies is a well known problem, and the inter-ontology mappings play an essential role in information integration. To enable simple and well-founded mappings , the ontologies of information sources should be modeled with the same world view and with the same manner of representation. This paper introduces an ontology modeling framework for component libraries, which is developed based on the Guarino's theory of upper ontology . This paper discusses the results of modeling ontologies of mold and die component libraries based on the framework. A Web-based implementation automatically merges the source ontologies.

  • Flash memory is suitable for real time systems because of its consistent performance for random access, low power consumption and shock resistance. However, flash memory needs blocking time to perform a garbage collection to reclaim invalidated pages. Moreover, the worst-case garbage collection time is significantly longer than the best-case garbage collection time. In this paper, we propose a FTL (Flash Translation Layer) mapping scheme called KAST (K-Associative Sector Translation). In the KAST scheme, user can control the maximum association of the log block to limit the worst-case garbage collection time. Performance evaluation using simulation shows that not only KAST completes the garbage collection within the specified time but also provides about 10~15% better average performance than existing FTL schemes.

  • In the recent day, the necessity and the effective usage are increased rapidly, and it is applied in many other fields as well as in the field of ortho-photo map. In this study, we extract each objects on the aerial image and automatically classify graphic information to produce digital map using only digital ortho-image without particular drawing devices for producing digital map. For this purpose, we have applied a lot of the image processing techniques and fuzzy theory, classified outline and lane of road and building, and had each layer according to each feature. Especially, in the case of the building, the outer vector lines extracted by pixel unit at the building were very complex, but we have developed the program to be expressed by I-dimensional linear type between building corners. In the result of this study, we could not extract and recognize all of the object on the image all together, but we have got the error within 50cm using semi-automatic technique. Therefore, this method will be used effectively in producing 1/5,000 digital map.

  • In this paper, the analytical fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) is presented using model-based and signal-based methodology with wavelet analysis on signals obtained from sensors and sensor networks. In the model-based FDD, we present the modeling of contact interface found in soft materials, including the biomedical contacts. Fingerprint analysis and signal-based FDD are also presented with an experimental framework consisting of a mechanical pneumatic system typically found in manufacturing automation. This diagnosis system focuses on the signal-based approach which employs multi-resolution wavelet decomposition of various sensor signals such as pressure, flow rate, etc., to determine leak configuration. Pattern recognition technique and analytical vectorized maps are developed to diagnose an unknown leakage based on the established FDD information using the affine mapping. Experimental studies and analysis are presented to illustrate the FDD methodology. Both model-based and wavelet-based FDD applied in contact interface and manufacturing automation have implication towards better quality of life by applying theory and practice to understand how effective diagnosis can be made using intelligent FDD. As an illustration, a model-based contact surface technology an benefit the diabetes with the detection of abnormal contact patterns that may result in ulceration if not detected and treated in time, thus, improving the quality of life of the patients. Ultimately, effective diagnosis using FDD with wavelet analysis, whether it is employed in biomedical applications or manufacturing automation, can have impacts on improving our quality of life.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between panoramic perception and space organization for restoration of urban environment and architecture. Panorama is a collective visual catalogue composed by series of perspective images. It is a product from continuous movements of viewer by defamilarizing real image and structuring order between city and building. Through understanding the panoramic image, the viewer is able to achieve the total image of the city. For example, achieving visual perception of the city by employing the panoramic view from different historical backgrounds and cultures, Berlin developed its urban characteristic by rebuilding panoramic view as an aesthetic device. First, this paper mention theory of panorama as an aesthetic device for shaping the city from the building. Second, this paper analyze the relationships between characteristics of panorama and historical contexts for why those panoramic views are valuable by mentioning the Altes Museum, the Berlin National Gallery, Museum of Modern Literature, and Folkwang Museum of panoramic view. In conclusion, this paper argues that visual perception such as panoramic view is the valuable device for organizing the image of the city's own identity. Constructing vision of each city influences not only shaping the city but also mapping the mental views of the building. Also, historical conditions and open spaces are one of the inherent elements combined with panoramic view for establishing urban identity. In search for good place making, it is important to understand the role of the historical context and fabric plan in shaping how a resident sees - literally, sees- their city with buildings. Berlin serve as excellent counter example in how the valuable place making panoramic mental views of urbanities take shape.
