  • This paper proposes new algorithms for cloudy area detection by GHA (Generalized Hebbian Algorithm) and SOFM (Self-Organized Feature Map). SOFM and GHA are unsupervised neural networks and are used for pattern classification and shape detection of satellite image. Proposed algorithm is based on block based image processing that size is 16${\times}$16. Results of proposed algorithm shows good performance of cloudy area detection except blur cloudy area.

  • Preservation of geometrical context of terrains in a digitized format is useful in handling and making modification to the data. Digitization of three-dimensional terrain still proves a great challenge due to heavy load of context required to retain details of topological and geometrical information. Methods of simplification, restoration and multi-level terrain generation are often employed to transform the original data into a compressed digital format. However, reduction of the stored data size comes at an expense of loss of details in the original data set. This article reports on an alternative scheme for simplification and restoration of terrain data. The algorithm utilizes the fact that the terrain formation and patterns can be predicted and modeled through the fractal algorithm. This method was used to generate multi-level terrain model based on NGIS digital maps with preserving geometrical context of terrains.

  • This study is focused on the analysis of road extracting accuracy from the high resolution IKONOS satellite image data. A geometric correction of the image is performed using the RFM and interpretation with the screen digitizing is also performed for extracting the roads information. For the evaluation of road extracting accuracy, the road locations and the road widths are compared with the national digital map. The comparison results shows that the road boundary and the size of road width are able to extract with the geometric accuracy of $\pm$3.4m and $\pm$1.1m.

  • In this paper, fabricated is a motion capture and attitude detection system for Head Mounted Display HMD composed of three low-price and low-grade micro gyroscopes and a micro-controller, To calculate attitude of a body, modified INS algorithm is used. Because the micro gyroscope has much bias drift error, scale factor error, and run-to-run bias error, the motion of a body can not be measured exactly if the general INS algorithm and micro gyroscopes are used. To reduce the errors, three accelerometers can be used. In this case, however, the size and power consumption become too large to use in HMD system. The modified INS algorithm use the grid map and the characteristics of the human motions.

  • This study aimed to analyze the prioritized area for the functional change of agricultural reservoir according to the rapid urbanization and social changes through the mapping method. Changwon-si, Gimhae-si, and Jinju-si in Gyeongnam province were selected as the study area, considering the results of land-use and cluster analysis. As the planning unit of management area, watershed was used and land coverage map from 1975 to 2015 were analyzed for changes of land use. The reduction ratio (%) of farmland was calculated for identifying the changes in 2013 compared to 1975. As a result, the reduction ratio was 11.9% for Changwon-si, 12.2% for Gimhae-si and 9.3% for Jinju-si, and the number of watershed having functionally reduced potential-area was relatively high in the proportion to the city size.

  • The objective of this study was to use 'Danta PR', NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) technology for genome resequencing to develop polymorphic makers between Chinese oriental melon, 'Hyangseo 1' and Korean oriental melon. From the resequencing data that covered about 81 times of the genome size, 104,357 of SSR motifs and Indel, and 1,092,436 of SNPs were identified. 299 SSR and 307 Indel markers were chosen to cover each chromosome with 25 markers. These markers were subsequently used to identify genotypes of 'Danta PR' BC1 (F1 x 'Danta PR') population and a genetic linkage map was constructed. SSR, Indel, and SNPs identified in this study would be useful as a breeding tool to develop new oriental melon varieties.

  • Effective warehouse management requires advanced resource planning to optimize profits and space. Robots offer a promising solution, but their effectiveness relies on embedded artificial intelligence. Multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) enhances robot intelligence in these environments. This study explores various MARL algorithms using the Multi-Robot Warehouse Environment (RWARE) to determine their suitability for warehouse resource planning. Our findings show that cooperative MARL is essential for effective warehouse management. IA2C outperforms MAA2C and VDA2C on smaller maps, while VDA2C excels on larger maps. IA2C's decentralized approach, focusing on cooperation over collaboration, allows for higher reward collection in smaller environments. However, as map size increases, reward collection decreases due to the need for extensive exploration. This study highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate MARL algorithm based on the specific warehouse environment's requirements and scale.

  • We can classify the scratches after CMP process into micro-scratch and macro-scratches according to the scratch size, scratch intensity and defect map, etc. The micro-scratches on wafer after CMP process are discussed in this paper. From many causes, major factor that influences the formation of micro-scratch is known as particle size distribution of slurry.(1) It is indefinite what size or type of particle can cause micro-scratch on wafer surface, but there is possibility caused by large particle over 1um. The best way for controlling these large particle to inflow is to use the slurry filter on POU(Point of user). But the slurry filter(especially, depth-type filter) has sometimes the problem which makes more sever micro-scratches on wafer surface after CMP. We studied that depth-type slurry filter has what kind of week-points and the number of scratch could be reduced by lowering slurry flow rate and by using high spray bar which sprays DIW on polishing pad with high pressure.
