The pipe with a long-neck flange is widely used in power plants, chemical plants, and shipbuilding companies. Now the pipe with a long-neck flange is manufactured by welding a thick flange to a pipe. But this long-neck flange pipe has some defects in the welding region such as unfitting and local thermal fatigue, which weaken the strength around the neck of the flange. Moreover, after welding the flange, the contacting surfaces of the flange have to be machined flat. So, that is uneconomical. Therefore, to solve the above problems of the long-neck flange pipe, a new process, which has no defects around the flange neck, is required. In this study, three forming processes are suggested to get an enhanced long-neck flange. First suggested process consists of conical forming and flange forming. Second and third suggested processes consist of the bulging of a long pipe locally heated by induction coils and the flange forming. The differences between second and third suggestions are the thickness and local heating area of the pipe. That is, the thickness of the initial pipe of third suggestion is larger than that of the final product, and the local heating area is smaller than that of second suggestion. These three suggestions for forming a long-neck flange are simulated by FE analyses with a commercial code DEFORM 2D. Especially, the theoretical result of FE analysis on the first suggestion for forming a long-neck flange is verified by the experiment with aluminum 6063 pipes. From the theoretical and experimental results, it is concluded that three suggested processes are very useful in order to manufacture the pipe with a long-neck flange without any defects.
Although reinforcement of work intensity caused by the recent prosperity of shipbuilding businesses and the steady increasing of results which produces orders has difficulties with heavy workload, unique work circumstance in shipbuilding industry where main and subcontractor do the job together is not easy to manage its safety systematically. According to KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency), there were 2, 587 deaths of 95,806 disaster victims a year on average for late 6 years(2003-2008), therein 36,605 disaster victims and 646 death in manufacture where shipbuilding have 2,287 victims, 6.25% of total disaster victims and 45 deaths, 6.97%. Moreover it shows much higher accident rate in shipbuilding industry in Korea than well developed countries in this industry as Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and so it does about 3 to 10 times higher in case of death. Compared to Japan with a shipbuilding competition of orders received system, 2 times and 2.3 times higher for each and it is more than 2 times higher than accident rate of all domestic industries. These increasing of disaster result in a labor-management dispute and it is necessary that more positive efforts and investments because there occurs blind spot, neglected industry safety and health management by lack of them, Therefore this study, for the effective safety and health management of shipbuilding industry, attempts to analyze risk on kinds of ships and budget needed in safety management through classifying ships that are being made recently by three dominate major companies. For this, we carried out a survey and interview targeting experts related to shipbuilding industry and used AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) for result analysis. It is considered that cost of safety and health management will be spent more effectively on the results about risk on kinds of ships and budget needed in safety management in the study and that this study can contribute to decreasing disasters in shipbuilding industry.

At present around 50 companies have their own crushing plants, which manufacture rock into crushed sand, over around 350 different quarry throughout the nation. However, in most plants the stone dust sludge is left as it is in their plants so that they have difficulty to utilize. Furthermore, environmental pollution may be even caused due to dust generated when it is dried. Recycling is starting capturing the attention of the people working over the quarry due to the reasons described above. This research has studied in the quarters the usability as landfill liner of the stone dust sludge, which is industrial waste. We investigated what technological properties it would have after mixing the stone dust sludge with SM(sandy soil) first and then with blast furnace slag or reject ash, which is waste, and cement as the stabilizer. As the result of three tests; compacting test, strength test, and permeability test; to satisfy the regulatory guideline of the government that is the compress strength over 5 $kgf/cm^2$, the flexibility over 1 $kgf/cm^2$, and the permeability under $1.0{\times}10^{-7}cm/sec$ From this research, we could confirm that stone dust sludge would be used as waste landfill liner if it were mixed with other waste by the proper mixing ratio.
Knit wear was industrialized, diversified, specialized and was made into high-class and it is including knitted cloth and small product for fashion as well as cardigan, sweater, and jacket etc. unlike past recognition only with underwear and inner wear. To consider elasticity to be the best strength of knit wear, middle-aged women that form change is serious are wearing knit wear as clothes for going out, and this may be regarded as clothes action to be conscious of form than vogue. Thus, in this study, this researcher tried to suggest solution scheme through the development of design of knit wear to supplement the form defect of middle-aged women. This researcher tried to develop the design of knit wear to supplement the form defect of middle-aged women, after examining the theoretical background of knit wear, the bodily and mental feature of middle-aged women. Internal and external knit wear brand that middle-aged women prefer as the scheme for solving the problematic form of middle-aged women with knit wear. As the result first, to see the present situation of inland production enterprise of knit wear, almost all the brand companies are concentrating energies on widening age class. Second, middle-aged women become far off from the form which is regarded ideal form in modern society. Third, result that this researcher examined the brand of knit wear of middle-aged women is as follows : MORADO, Cartknit, Escalier. And, in foreign knit wear brand, ST John, Missoni, ESCADA. Fourth, as the result that this researcher did work manufacture for the supplement of form defect of middle-aged women, it has practical and active side, and off-time has high-class and elegant refined beauty.

Fatigue analysis and lifetime evaluation are very important in design procedure for assuring the safety and reliability of rubber components for mechanical systems. Till recently, the technology for the design, analysis, and evaluation of rubber products was required to manufacture rubber products with high quality, fidelity, and reliability. However, in the rubber-manufacturing companies in Korea, the processes of compound mixing, manufacturing of rubber products, and improvement of rubber properties are based on the trial-and-error method and experience. The objectives of this study are to establish methods for testing rubber materials, to develop a database of the properties of rubber materials, to evaluate the performance of rubber components, and to develop a system for predicting fatigue life. A method to predict fatigue-life of rubber components was proposed; in this method, the finite-element analysis and fatigue damage parameter as determined from a fatigue test are incorporated.

Three-dimensional (3D) memories using through-silicon vias (TSVs) as vertical bus across memory layers are implemented by many semiconductor companies. 3D memories are composed of known-good-dies (KGDs). If additional faults are arisen during bonding, they should be repaired. In order to enhance the yield of 3D memories with inter-die redundancies, a die-matching method is needed to effectively stack memory dies in a 3D memory. In this paper, a new die-matching method is proposed for 3D memory yield enhancement with inter-die redundancies considering additional faults arisen during bonding. Three boundary-limited conditions are used in the proposed die-matching method; they set bounds to the search spaces for selecting memory dies to manufacture a 3D memory. Simulation results show that the proposed die-matching method can greatly enhance the 3D memory yield.

The current economic crisis is making new demands on manufacturing industry, in particular, in terms of the flexibility and efficiency of production processes. This requires production and administrative processes to be meshed with each other by means of IT systems to optimise the use and capacity utilisation of machines and lines but also to be able to respond rapidly to wrong developments in production and thus to minimise adverse impacts on the business. The future scenario of the "smart factory" represents the zenith of this development. The factory can be modified and expanded at will, combines all components from different manufacturers and enables them to take on context-related tasks autonomously. Integrated user interfaces will still be required at most for basic functionalities. The complex control operations will run wirelessly and ad hoc via mobile terminals such as PDAs or smartphones. The comnination of IoT, and Big Data optimisation is bringing about huge opportunities. these processes are not just limited to manufacturing, anywhere a supply chain environment exists can benefit from information provided by linked devices and access to big data to inform their decision support. Building a smart factory with smart assets at its core means reaching those desired new levels of productivity and efficiency. It means smart products that leverage advanced traceability, connectivity and intelligence. For businesses, it means being able to address the talent crunch through more autonomous. In a Smart Factory, machinery and equipment will have the ability to improve processes through self-optimization and autonomous decision-making.

The Fly-By-Wire(FBW) flight control system is essential to improve the stability and flying quality of the helicopter. Advanced aerospace companies, such as Bell-Sikorsky (USA) and NHI (European Consortium), have already applied the FBW flight control system to manufacture V-22 and NH-90 helicopters, respectively. This paper addresses the development of control law design using model inversion method improve the hover and low speed handling qualities of helicopter based on BO-105 model in 'Day' and 'Degraded visual environments(DVEs)' in accordance with ADS-33E-PRF. Design parameters are optimized to satisfy the handling qualities specification using Control Designer's Unified Interface (CONDUIT) commercial control law software. The result of the analysis based on CONDUIT and non-real time simulation in-house software, HETLAS (HElicopter Trim Linearization And Simulation) reveals that the provides an efficient mean to achieve Level 1 handling qualities.

A number of researches have been carried out regarding the utilization of nanocellulose(crystalline nanocellulose, microfibrillated cellulose, nanofibrillated cellulose) for the manufacture of various kinds of composites and functional products. However, only few research works on the manufacturing characteristics of nanocellulose could be found, although some companies started already the production of nanocellulose in commercial scale. However, the most important thing in commercializing of production and utilization of nanocellulose is to develop the economical and efficient process. Thus, this study was carried out in order to investigate the effects of refining, alkaline pre-treatment and grinder clearance on the characteristics of microfibrillated cellulose and energy consumption. There was no significant differences in crystalline index with the degree of microfibrillation. The initial fibrillation could be improved by refining pre-treatment, but its effect was not observed anymore since the fibrillation was done up to certain level by grinding. Refining pre-treatment did not improved the energy efficiency. Alkaline pre-treatment can be helpful because the swelling of pulp fiber will facilitate fibrillation. It was found that the decrease in grinder clearance was helpful to improve the energy efficiency.

Modernization drastically changed the cosmetic culture of Korea and Japan. A classic case that shows this is the appearance of the term 'Hyangjang (香粧)'. This paper investigated the background to the formation of the term Hyangjang (香粧), and reviewed the aspects of cosmetic culture that changed with the emergence of Hyangjangpum (香粧品), or cosmetics containing perfume. The investigation revealed that the term Hyangjang (香粧) appeared for the first time in Hirano (1899), a literature published in the Meiji period in Japan, and that the new term Hyangjang (香粧) had been formed against the background of advanced Western synthetic perfume and played an important role in contemporary techniques for the manufacture of cosmetics. The term Hyangjang (香粧) and cosmetics containing perfume, or Hyangjangpum (香粧品) were then introduced from Japan to Korea. In Korea, the term 'Hyangjang (香粧)' appeared for the first time in an advertising copy written by Hyeon Hui-un, a pioneer of the Korean modern theater movement during the period of Japanese colonial rule. At that time, cosmetic companies in Korea and Japan were releasing cosmetic products that contained perfume that stimulated a women's desire to purchase them by emphasizing 'fragrance' in their advertising. Existing public tendencies to regard a fragrant smell from a made-up face as vulgar were changing and the public perception of fragrance were also changing. The appearance of Hyangjangpum (香粧品) indicates that the existing cosmetic culture revolving around visual sense changed into a complex cosmetic culture involving olfaction. This change in culture is significant in that it heralded the direction of future development towards cosmetic culture that uses increase combinations of different senses including touch, taste, and hearing.
