Design and Implementation of the Integrated Management System for Mass Health Examination Operations Management (단체 건강검진 운영 관리를 위한 통합관리 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Purpose The healthcare services have drawn so much public attention, and many organizations such as schools and companies require the individuals to undergo the periodic health examination. In general, however, the mass health examination services are not managed in systematic way, and both examinees and medical staffs often experience much inconvenience while preparing, undergoing and managing the services. To address such problems, this paper aims to design the Health Examination Management System (HEMS), an integrated management system for mass health examination operations management, and implement its prototype. Design/methodology/approach First of all, HEMS enables the medical staffs to efficiently collect and manage the examination result data by supporting examination service management. Second, the users can efficiently analyze the cause-and-effect relationships among the examination items by using the visualization tool of HEMS based on the cluster heat map. Finally, the HEMS provides the operational supports for evaluating and managing the service performances. Findings The HEMS indicates that the conventional operations management approaches can be incorporated into the mass health examination services, and it is expected that the proposed system enables the examinees and the medical staffs to participate in such services in more efficient way.

Implementation of Very Large Hangul Text Retrieval Engine HMG (대용량 한글 텍스트 검색 엔진 HMG의 구현)

  • In this paper, we implement a gigabyte Hangul text retrieval engine HMG(Hangul MG) which is based on the English text retrieval engine MG(Managing Gigabytes) and the Hangul lexical analyzer HAM(Hangul Analysis Module). To support Hangul information, we use the KSC 5601 code in the database construction and query processing stages. The lexical analyzer, parser, and index construction module of the MG system are modified to support Hangul information. To show the usefulness of HMG system, we implemented a NOD(Novel On Demand) system supporting the retrieval of Hangul novels on the WWW. The proposed system HMG can be utilized in the construction of massive full-text information retrieval systems supporting Hangul.

  • Advanced countries worldwide lead government leading management innovation by suggesting unique managing system which can be survived in global economy war including JQA of Japan and EFQM of Europe based basically on MBNQA of U.S.A. and by rewarding to suitable companies. Mckinsey, global management and consulting company points out that Korea has no management because Korean productivity level which dependence to small and medium sized companies is high by the limitation of elemental invests leading type growth strategy including labor and capital is only 1/2 of U.S.A. and 2/3 of Japan. In particular, the competitive power of Korean small and medium sized companies goes into a recession by productivity lowering according to the chinese follow-up, laboring time shortening, variety and aging, and fundamental management innovation activities for reinforcing survival and competitive power are needed. Therefore, in this study, we try to construct the model of productivity managing system of innovation type small and medium sized companies which make excellent results.

  • Research and development projects in Research and development projects in Korea are ineffectively conducted due to the lack of a system for effectively planning, conducting and disseminating the result of the research projects. In this study, we have designed a framework for system that can be used in the planning and managing stage of National R & D information to guarantee standardization and extendability of the information. A national R & D technology information portal system for managing the distributed national R & D information on a single database is suggested based on this framework for the construction of a more effective information support system and the dissemination of national R & D information between researchers.

  • An optimal software release, which is related to the development cost, error detection and correction under the various operation systems, is a critical factor for managing project. This paper described optimal software release issues to predict the release time of large switching system with the system stability point of view and evaluated a timely supply of target system, proper utilization of resources under the software reliability valuation basis. Finally, Using initial failure data, based on the exponential reliability growth model methodology, optimal release time, and analysis of failure data during the system testing and managing methodologies were presented.

  • As today's home-network market grows related researches had been increased and with different interfaces of these products of course there is lack of compatibility between these systems. So we need some extensionable managing system which integrates and manages these systems. In this paper, we designed framework that integrates and manages network system and also implemented Home Gateway using JMX on Sensor-network environment. It may manage each target with modulization and through the connection interface we make allowance compatibility and extensionability between existing systems. Through this researches, we implemented the Home-network integrated managing system which can manage and monitor with PDA or RDP(remote desktop PC).

  • The Managing and measuring performance have long been a popular topic in business. Traditions of financially-oriented managing and measuring performance have provided managers with relatively objective and scientific results of measuring performance until now. But today the value of organization is influenced more by intangible assets than tangible assets. Nobody thus believes that the performance and the value of organization can be measured by financial indicators only. In this background, numerous researches have been conducted to find alternatives to measuring the value of organization's intangible assets. One of the remarkable achievements would be "Balanced Score Card (BSC), "which covers three sectors of indicators, each from customer relations, internal process innovations, and learning and human resource development, in addition to traditional financial indicators. Unfortunately, even BSC, let alone others, fails to accomodate all performance indicators as a holistic system. Namely, performance measuring techniques including BCS, at present, fail to reflect the dynamic features in their model - i.e., the casual relations and the interactions between the indicators, and there is no way of taking into account the impact of delayed feedback which flows from introduction of new policy and legislative changes, etc. Therefore, this paper attempts to devise a means for adding dynamic features to BSC, by introducing the system dynamics concept, with a focus on the effect of casual relations and feedback structure.

  • The number of fuel gas accidents is increasing in domestic fuel gas facilities as increasing the supply area. To prevent gas accident, the government institutions related to fuel gas industry partly collected and managed the information of physical properties and safety data. Due to the overlap of data between institutions, collecting and managing the safety information was inefficient. The purpose of this research is developing geographic information system which providing the information of quantitative risk assessment, accident prevention plan, and efficient sharing and managing of the system.

  • Requirements management is one of the most essential activities of systems engineering in developing successful weapon systems. Particularly it is very important to consistently manage the traceability among the user requirements, the system requirements, the development specifications and the testing plans throughout the entire life cycle of the weapon system. However, the most part of requirements-related activities has centered around the functional and performance requirements but the integrated logistics support(ILS) requirement has not properly been managed. In this regard, a special attention is needed to develop and manage the ILS requirements. To do so, the ANSI/EIA-632 standard can be referred as a starting point since the ILS requirements of the weapon system under development are specified by the enabling products whereas the functional and performance requirements are covered by the end product requirements. Specifically, we first review and model several cases of previous weapon systems development, which reveals the problem of interest. Then, under the framework of ANSI/EIA-632, we study a hierarchical model for effectively managing ILS requirements by analyzing the features of ILS requirements. Finally, the value of the proposed model is discussed through the case study of electronic warfare equipment.

A Case Study on Big Data Analysis Systems for Policy Proposals of Engineering Education (공학교육 정책제안을 위한 빅데이터 분석 시스템 사례 분석 연구)

  • The government has tried to develop a platform for systematically collecting and managing engineering education data for policy proposals. However, there have been few cases of big data analysis platform for policy proposals in engineering education, and it is difficult to determine the major function of the platform, the purpose of using big data, and the method of data collection. This study aims to collect the cases of big data analysis systems for the development of a big data system for educational policy proposals, and to conduct a study to analyze cases using the analysis frame of key elements to consider in developing a big data analysis platform. In order to analyze the case of big data system for engineering education policy proposals, 24 systems collecting and managing big data were selected. The analysis framework was developed based on literature reviews and the results of the case analysis were presented. The results of this study are expected to provide from macro-level such as what functions the platform should perform in developing a big data system and how to collect data, what analysis techniques should be adopted, and how to visualize the data analysis results.
