  • Purpose: In this study, we suggest the systematic and comprehensive model to develop PI(Performance Indicators) of the organization or the process. Methods: The model is developed theoretically by using SIPOC(Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer) approach which is a tool to analyze the process and is compared with existing models to develop PI or KPI(key performance indicators); financial indicators, BSC, IPOO(input, process, output, outcome), traditional QCD (quality, cost, delivery), and IOS(input, output system). Results: The model provides more systematic method to develop PI and more comprehensive set of PI pools for all kinds of hierarchical levels of process than any other models to develop PI or KPI. Conclusion: This model will provide useful tools for the managers and the organizations who wish to develop PI.

  • The improper use of input and output factors in DEA has a critical and negative impact on the efficiency measurement and the discernment of decision making units(DMUs) : hence the proper selection Process of the factors should precede the actual applications of DEA. In this paper, we propose a new approach to selecting proper factors based on Tofallis' partial efficiency evaluation method(1996). With the approach, the factors aye clustered by measuring their respective partial efficiencies and analyzing the rank correlations of them. The method and procedure we propose in this paper are then applied to measure the efficiencies of the public libraries in Seoul District area, and the results show that the proposed approach can provide meaningful information to improve discernment of the DMUs while using less number of input factors (and less information). The proposed method can be effectively used in the situation where the number of the DMUs to be considered is relatively small compared to the number of available input and output factors, which usually lessens the power to identify the inefficient units in DEA.

  • Process adjustment Is a complimentary tool to process monitoring in process control. Process adjustment directs on maintaining a process output close to a target value by manipulating another controllable variable, by which significant process improvement can be achieved. Therefore, this approach can be applied to the 'Improve' stage of Six Sigma strategy. Though the optimal control rule minimizes process variability in general, it may not properly function when special causes occur in underlying process, resulting in off-target bias and increased variability in the adjusted output process, possibly for long periods. In this paper, we consider a responsive feedback control system and the minimum mean square error control rule. The bias in the adjusted output process is investigated in a general framework, especially focussing on stationary underlying process and the special cause of level shift type. Illustrative examples are employed to illustrate the issues discussed.

Consequently, it used the pulse reiteration law from origination and nine as the fundamental wave direct plan it produced. intense it affixed the nonlinear optics material (KTP) in pulsed light and it got the green light. When inflicting a same energy in respectively reiteration mesh, intense interrelation of pulse light output and green light output between. • The uncertainty quantification process in probabilistic Risk Assessment usually involves a specification of the uncertainty in the input data and the propagation of this uncertainty to the final risk results. The distributional sensitivity analysis is to study the impact of the various assumptions made during the quantification of input parameter uncertainties on the final output uncertainty. The uncertainty importance of input parameters, in this case, should reflect the degree of changes in the whole output distribution and not just in a point estimate value. A measure of the uncertainty importance is proposed in the present paper. The measure is called the distributional sensitivity measure(DSM) and explicitly derived from the definition of the Kullback's discrimination information. The DSM is applied to three typical discrimination information. The DSM is applied to three typical cases of input distributional changes: 1) Uncertainty is completely eliminated, 2) Uncertainty range is increased by a factor of 10, and 3) Type of distribution is changed. For all three cases of application, the DSM-based importance ranking agrees very well with the observed changes of output distribution while other statistical parameters are shown to be insensitive.

  • There have many studies seeking for an effective IS planning approach. These studies mainly considered organizational characteristics, external factors, and IS planning process as key factors influencing ISP outcome. ISP output, however, was less focused, which is believed to have a more direct relationship with ISP outcome. In this study we attempt to study empirically how architectural quality of ISP output impacts on ISP outcome.

  • A duopoly model of R&D competition is presented to investigate whether an equilibrium R&D level with flexible spillovers is insufficient (or excessive) from the viewpoint of social welfare. The model focus on flexible spillovers which include much portion of externality occurring in R&D activity. Flexible spillovers refer to the spillovers that vary with industry equilibrium level of R&D. Innovating firms have incentives to cooperate in R&D in the presence of large spillovers. For any symmetric R&D profile, socially desirable equilibrium output is larger than equilibrium output produced in duopoly. Cooperative equilibrium R&D investment is observed to be socially insufficient in terms of welfare criterion irrespective of the magnitude of spillovers. While noncooperative R&D yields socially excessive expenditure on research project for a certain range of spillovers.

  • Chyle leaks are uncommon complications after head and neck surgeries. Although uncommon, such a complication is noteworthy mention due to its perplexing diagnosis and management strategies. This scoping review aims to highlight and emphasize the diagnosis and management options proposed in the literature. A comprehensive search was performed in PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases and identified 617 articles that were reduced to 40 studies and reports after applying the eligibility criteria. Although numerous treatment options ranging from simple, conservative measures to invasive surgical procedures have been mentioned for low-output, high-output, and massive leaks, there is no concrete evidence on the best method. Thus, a combination of management options must be customized by case for optimum results.

  • Due to a publicly owned resources, the overexploitation of the fisheries resources can result in externalities in the form of reduced future levels of yield. These problems can be theoretically improved through effective management of the fishery. The paper illustrates maximum sustainable yield(MSY), maximum economic yield(MEY) and F0.1 level of fishing mortality as the concept of optimal yield, and it theoretically shows that MSY is more appropriate for the optimal yield than MEY where prices increase even though MEY achieves the maximization of economic rent in a fishery assuming constant prices. And the paper presents several fisheries management tools and policies such as input controls, output controls and taxes. As the traditional approach to fishery management, input controls involve restrictions on the physical inputs into the production process(e.g. capital, time or technology) and output controls involve limits on the quantity of fish that can be landed. To introduce user cost into the harvest decisions of rent-seeking fishers, taxation, as a bioeconomic management policy of the fisheries, directly addresses the problems associated with the resource being unpriced. As most fisheries management plans, however, have increasing fisher income as an objective, taxes have not been introduced into any fisheries management policies despite their theoretical attraction.
