Development of App. for Efficient Safety and Health Management of Workplaces for Disabled Persons

  • Purpose: It is necessary to prepare more groundbreaking measures to prevent recurrence in order to reduce the number of industrial accidents in Korea that occur steadily. In particular, since workers with disabilities are much more vulnerable to disaster safety than non-disabled workers, there is a great need to build a customized safety environment system suitable for the characteristics of the work in which workers with disabilities work and to promote management efficiency. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the analysis of the actual status of safety and health management of workplaces for the disabled, such as small, medium-sized and major businesses in Korea, an app was designed and developed to improve safety and health management efficiency of workplaces for the disabled. First, it was designed so that managers of workplaces with disabilities can understand at a glance key legal information that managers need to know and it was improved to suit the eye level of disabled workers so that they could self-evaluate the risk of their work by applying the risk assessment model for workplaces with disabilities. In addition, a mobile education environment was created in which safety and health education contents suitable for the characteristics of disabled workers can be learned by themselves. Results: When this app is applied to domestic workplaces, it is possible to check the exact contents of occupational safety and health education and easily search and check various legal information anytime, anywhere, allowing managers and disabled workers to quickly and efficiently manage various safety information. Conclusions: In addition, the establishment of a mobile safety and health management system that can quickly identify and clearly respond to various legal standards and risks of workplaces with disabilities can be expected to help prevent industrial accidents at workplaces with disabilities in Korea.

Nutrition Teachers and Dietitians' Use and Perception of Information on School Foodservice Management in Daegu, Gyeongbuk Area (대구.경북 지역 영양(교)사의 학교급식 운영 관련 정보에 대한 인식 및 이용 현황)

  • This study attempted to investigate use of information for school foodservice management and perception of informations offered on Office of Education homepages according to Daegu and Gyeongbuk nutrition teachers and dietitians. The most frequently used web site information source and information type were 'charged foodservice information sites'(63.5%) and 'information on nutrition or menus'(63.5%), respectively. Subjects belonging to schools that served more meals per day tended to use informations more frequently. Information on 'management of the foodservice production process' showed a low satisfaction level as compared to importance in all groups, and information on 'nutrition education' showed a similar tendency for subjects belonging to schools that served 1 meals per day. Overall, efforts for development and dissemination of information are required to improve the quality and efficiency of school foodservice.

  • The main objective of this research is to develop an experimental educational facility management information system that will be used for maintaining existing educational facilities in the elementary, junior high, and high schools. The development is based on the nationwide development plan of the education administration information system. The system developed is accomplished by use of Map-application Information System(MAPIS), an applied commercial software that combines Geographic Information System(GIS) with existing Information and Communication Technologies(ICT) such as Database system, Multimedia methodology, and Internet system. In order to figure out the features to be improved in the system developed, the research interviewed the educational facilities management in the Ministry of Education and P Local Education Authority. The authors suggest the functional improvement of the system based on the interview results.

The Effect of Family Life Cycle and Financial Management Practices on Household Saving Patterns

  • Using the 1995 Survey of Consumer Finances, this study investigates how family life-cycle stages and financial management practices affect household saving. First findings are that household income and householders education, race and ethnicity have significant effects on saving. Second, regarding the effect of the family life-cycle stages, younger married couples without children, middle pre-retired households without dependent children, and older households without dependent children are more likely to save than other similar households in the life-cycle stage of younger single households. Third, households with longer financial planning horizons, saving goals for retirement, purchase of durable goods and emergency goods, and low credit card debt are more likely to save. Based on the results, implications for financial management education and public policy are suggested.

The Study for Developing Educational Program for Home Life Promotion (가정생활개선 교육프로그램 개발)

  • This study was to develop and to execute the educational program for Home Life Promotion in relation to the living of variety. The education program was developed based on system approach of home economics. The program consisted of 6 sessions ; intensional home management, flexible sex role, communication, parents-children relationship, home resource management, living plan. After a primary education, 109 of adults was educated on secondary step by the program. This program can be used not only for adults in lifelong education but also in home economics course. The main contribution of this study is that family members can increase life welfare through practicing this educational program.

  • The purpose of this study is to review the research trends of family life planning in the Journal of Korean Rome Economics Association, the Journal of Korean Rome Management Association and the Journal of Korean Family Resource Management Association. For this purpose, 132 studies were analyzed according to the theory of family life planning, the state of family life planning, the diagnosis of present, the establishment of future and the practice of family life planning. At this time, we feel that it is meaningful to review the research of family life planning and to take a look at its possible future prospects. This study also provides the information necessary to implement and integrate its positive results into Family Life Education.

Factors Influencing the Patient Safety Management Activity of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 환자안전관리활동에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: This purpose of this study was to identify the level of knowledge and attitude of patient safety and patient safety management activity (PSMA) and identify influencing factors of PSMA in nursing students. Methods: The participants were 210 fourth-year nursing students in C and G city. Data were collected with structured questionnaires from October 10 to November 10, 2017. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression with SPSS 21.0 were used. Results: As a result, the level of knowledge of patient safety was 9.05, attitude of patient safety was 4.07, and PSMA was 4.22. The factors influencing PSMA were knowledge and attitude of patient safety. The regression model explained 77% of PSMA. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that a systematic education program considering factors influencing the patient safety management activities of nursing students be developed.

Educational Needs Related to Home Management Perceviced by Secondary Students (중.고등학교 학생의 가정관리 교육 내용에 대한 학습요구도와 관련변수에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the study were to: (1) determine important home management concepts in the secondary home economics education curriculum,(2) identify the educational needs related to home management perceived by secondary school students, and the factors affecting it, (3) use the findings to make recommendations for developing home economics curriculum and teaching home economics in the secondary school. The questionnaires were distributed to the 1,029 secondary school students, lived in seoul, local cities, and rural area. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, T-test one ay ANOVA with scheffe test, and multiple regression analysis. Forty home management concepts were selected based on the related literatures. Stress man-agement, leisure time activities, resource use, making money for adolescents, work simplication methods were the concepts which showed the highest level of educational needs perceived by the students. The educational needs were affected by sex, school level, residence area of the respondents, and other factors related to the perception about home economics such as preference, GPA, etc.

The Development of Family Business Education Program through the Evaluation of Curricula (교육과정 평가를 통한 가족기업 교육프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to assert the necessity of family business education and suggest the family business education program. For this purpose, curricula of entrepreneurship program, family business program in business school and of extension center of college of human ecology are compared. Two programs in the former are on the basis of management curriculum. But family business program in business school focuses the system and characteristics of family business and is short term program compared with the entrepreneurship program emphasizes the new venture and is well-developed. And family business program in college of human ecology is not differentiated from that in business school. Through these analysis, this study suggests the program which considers the importance of the family function as well as the business function in family business. So, family business program contains following three courses; family resource management, business management and entrepreneur process.

Pediatric Nurses' Knowledge and Attitude towards Management of Children's Postoperative Pain (아동병동 간호사의 수술 후 통증 관리에 대한 지식과 태도)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to describe pediatric nurses' knowledge and attitude towards management of children's postoperative pain. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, the participants were 220 pediatric nurses who worked at a general hospital in Seoul. The survey questionnaires used to assess the nurses' knowledge and attitude regarding children's postoperative pain were developed for this study. Results: The average score for knowledge was 67.7 out of 100. The mean score for attitude was 72.5 out of 100. The factor related to the knowledge level was education for pain management. Moreover, age, working department, position, working experience, education level, and number of children were associated with the attitude. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggested the need for a systematic education program for pain management of children in the postoperative condition.
