  • The clinical application of constitutional Diagnosis is the most important part of Sasang constitutional medicine. It has been studied in various way. The study of morphologic characteristics on the head and face has been identified but didn't considered the Variations of age and sex. For the statistic analysis of the correlation between the sasang constitution and the shape of the face, the head-facial part of 182 cases(the group of throughout the age) and 69 cases(the group of age 30 to 40) were measured by Martin's measurement and analysis of a) the measurement value of height and the component ratio from the Gnathion to each part of face by constitution. b) the measurement value of depth and the component ratio from T-projected to each part of the face by constitution. c) the measurement value of breadth and component ratio between each parts of the facial breadth by constitution. d) the characteristics on each part of face by constitution. e) the result of discriminant analysis about the constitution Authors obtained the results from the study as follows: 1. Taeum-In group is characterized by the value of variables had a tendency to maximum value in throughout the age, the charateristics that the total group show is the shape of face is wide shape in horizontally and flat, the nasal breadth is wider than other constitutions, the lips is narrower than Soyang-In in horizontally and thick shape in vertically, and the biogonial breadth is more developed than other constitutions, so lower face is developed. The charateristics that only the age of 30 40 group show is that the lips is thicker than Soeum-IN. The projection of inter-eyebrows is more projected than Soyang-IN. 2. Soeum-IN group is characterized by the value of variables had a tendency to minimum value in throughout the age. The characteristics that the total group show is the lips is thiner than other constitutions, the breadth of eyes is wider than other constitutions, the difference between sellion and nasal breadth is to be little. The charateristics that only the age of 30 40 group show is that the ratio of upper face in physiognomic face is lager than Soyang-IN. 3. The total age group of Soyang-In is characterized by the shape of face is long in vertically and narrow in horizontally, the total eyebrow breadth and lips and philtrun is wider than other constitutions. The charateristics that only the age of 30 40 group is characterized by the projection of sellion is more projected than Taeum-IN. 4. The values which showed significance in both age group V76, V52, V54, V55, V57, V59, V64, V65, V67, V88, V89, V148, V150, V151, V155, V160, V161, V28, V50, V99, V102, V167, V169, V173, V175, V177, V181 are 27 in all. 5. And it is very variety in each population statistics factors the differences of physical design visual effect which considering the difference of sex and age, numbers of button, a figure and material pattern. The method of this study is experimentation. Accordingly, I used convenience sampling by considering sex and age distribution with the SPSS program for the data analysis. The difference of body design visual effect brought follow conclusion by demographics variability. The distinction of body design by sex and numbers of button, shoulders have similar differences only in men's group. The length has it both in man and woman's group. The dissimilarity of body design by age and the number of button, the shoulders have similar differences in 30 between 40 aged group and the abdomen has it in 30 aged group. The length has it in 20 between 40 and 50 aged group. In the three factors of body design by sex and shape either sex and pattern, both man and woman have similar differences by the pattern. Totally, number of button and pattern are very important clothes due to give an effect on whole visual effect man's suit. Also, these dues were felt differently by each types of body. Therefore, it is confirmed that the type of body is important that fluent to make people perceive.

  • Background: Oral cavity cancers, the second most common type in India, are responsible for 10% of the overall cancer burden. With a recurrence rate of 30% to 40% and a 5-year survival rate of 50%, these malignancies account for substantial morbidity and mortality. Despite advances in treatment modalities, survival rates following treatment completion have not improved significantly. The present study aimed to establish specific epidemiological and pathological factors responsible for recurrence after treatment completion in buccal mucosa cancers. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the data of 116 patients treated for biopsy-proven cancers of the buccal mucosa was undertaken 1 year after treatment completion. Factors such as age, sex, education, lymphovascular invasion, extranodal extension (ENE), perineural invasion, depth of invasion, and pathological margin status were compared between patients who presented with recurrence and those who did not. Statistical significance was set at p< 0.05. Results: Of the 116 patients, 40 (34.5%) developed a recurrent disease within 1 year. The mean age of the study population was 43.3 years, and males constituted 91.4% of the included patients. Ipsilateral buccal mucosa was the commonest site of disease recurrence. Neck node metastasis, ENE, and margins of resection < 5 mm were significantly related to the recurrence of disease. However, surprisingly, lymphovascular invasion, perineural invasion, and depth of invasion > 10 mm did not show statistically significant associations. Conclusion: Neck node metastasis, ENE, and margins of resection < 5 mm were the histopathological factors associated with recurrence in cancers of the buccal mucosa.

The number of answers on the questionaires was 1846. And the percent of man was 55.7 %(woman 44.3 %). Among age group 20-29 years group with 30.4 % was larger than any other group. Anaverage age of answers was 38.6 years. 2.In the period of residence, 21.5 % of the residents lived within 5 years(This group was larger than any other group). In occupations, workers in agriculture and fishing was more than other job occupants. In education, the percent of high school graduates was 44.0 %(higher than any other group) 3.The smoking rate of rural residents was 41.8 %and man's smoking rate was 76.0 % (woman's smoking rate was 7.6 %). These rates were higher than the rates in 1985 (The smoking rate of nation was 32.0 %). First of all, woman's smoking rate increased rapidly 4.As for smoking amount, in male 52.8% of smokers smoked a cigarette case (20 cigarettes) in a day, and 16.9 % of smokers smoked more than one cigarette case. In female 42.5 % of woman smokers smoked a half case in a day and the rate of non-smokers diminished to 77.8 % 5.The rate of non-smokers in 21-29 years group was higher than any other group and a smoking rate increased as an age increased. However, a smoking amount decreased as an age increased. This suggests that people are more concerning about their health as their ages increase.. 6.The smoking rate of college graduates was 58.8 %(higher than any other group) and in a smoking amount 36.4 % of college graduates, 29.8 % of high school graduates smoked more than a cigarette case in a day. This shows that people in a higher education group smoke more than those in other groups. 7.As for non-smoking rate, students, service job workers, company employees, and teachers was 54.1%, 43.4%. 40.1% and 39.5%. respectively. As for smoking rate, workers in agriculture and fishing was the highest level of all job employees. Public officers smoked less than the workers in agriculture and the smoking rate of teachers was less than that of public officers. with regard to smoking amount. above one cigarette case in a day was 39.9 % in public officers, 39.2 % workers in agriculture and fishing, 37.9 % in businessmen, 34.2 % in teachers, 31.9 % in service job employees and 31.6 % in a company employees. 8.The variables which had an effect on smoking were sex (B=.1701), job(B=.1688), education(B=.1671), age(B=.1125). These variables were significant in P<0.05 statistically. Explanatory variance level was 19% 9.The drinking rate of community residents was 61.8% and man's drinking rate was 81.7%(woman's drinking rate was 38.9%). As drinking rate 18.0%(the highest rate) of man drinkers drank 3 bottles of beer in a general drinking and 12.1% of them drank more than 10 bottles. 12.1% (the highest rate)of woman drinkers drank 2 cups of beer. The rising rate of woman's drinking of alcohol was remarkable. 10.Each non-drinking rate of age groups was 27.6% (in 20-30 years group), 28.0% (in 30-39 years group), 28.9%(in 40-49 years group) and 32,6%(in 50-59 years group), 10,7%(the highest rate) of 20-29 and 30-39 years groups drank above 3 bottles. 7.5% of 20-29 years group and 7.7% of 30-39 years group drank above 10 bottles. In 40-49 years group, 14.4 % of them drank a bottle and 8.1% of them drank above 10 bottles. In 50-59years group, 14,2% of them drank 2 bottles and 5.3 % of them drank above 10 bottles. This shows that a drinking rate decresed as an age increased. 11.Non-drinking rate was higher as an education level was lower. Each non-drinking rate of non-educated group, elementary school group, middle school group and high school group was 41.0 % of high school graduates and 14.5 % of college graduates drank 3 bottles of beer. 9.7 %(the highest rate) of college graduates drank above 10 bottles, in general drinking. 12.Each non-drinking rate of businessmen, farmers, service job workers, and students was 31.3%, 28.2%, 26.8% and 25.9%. However, Each drinking rate of public officers, company employees and teachers was 73.3 %, 72.2 % and 68.4 %. This tells us that the drinking rate of mental workers is higher than that of physical workers. 14.9 % of farmers and 14.4 % of public officers drank 3 bottles at a time. 10.5 % of teachers and 9.9 % of public officers drank above 10 bottles. 13.The variables which affect on drinking were sex(B=.1545), education(B=.1476), job(B=.1064), and age(B=.1052). These variables were significant in the level of 0.05 % and explanatory variance level was 18 %. 14.Government have to educate people and demonstrate the health hazards caused by smoking and over-drinking. Especially, No-smoking campaign for woman and education not to over drink for professional job workers are necessary.

The group of patients aged 25-34 had more number of extracted teeth than any other age group. 2. It was found that woman's (0.13) was more than man's(0.9) in average number of extracted teeth per patient. 3. In analyzing the causes of extraction, it was identified as caries 37.5%, periodontal diseases 27.2%, wisdom teeth 17.6%, for orthodontic treatment and impacted supernumerary teeth and others 8.0% trauma and fracture 4.2%. 4. The primary cause of extraction was found to be changed from caries to periodontal diseases according to the increase of age. 5. The number of teeth that were extracted by trauma was found that man's (38) was more than twice as much as woman's (17) and the group of patients aged 35-44 had the most number of all age groups.

  • The purpose of this research was to measurement real accmmnodative response amount of emmetropia using both eyes open-view auto-refractometer. We classified 377(male 146, female 231)eyes showing good naked vision at least 1.0, with a spherical equivalent refraction of under ${\pm}0.50D$ and cylindercal refraction of under -0.75D, from 10 to 59(mean $25.8{\pm}12.4$) years into 5 groups with 10 year interval and analyzed change of the near astigmatism and accommodative response amount to distinction of age. Age comparison, total mean 1.47D, 10 years age group 1.63D, 20 years age group 1.57D, 30 years age group 1.71D, 40 years age group 0.97D, and 50 years age group 0.05D. It was no difference between 10 to 30 years age group, But it showed the decre8.se which is remarkable from above 40 years age group and it does not almost response from above 50 years age group. Sexual difference, the man appeared some highly in male(mean $26.4{\pm}12.3$ years) 1.56D m female(mean $26.4{\pm}12.3$) 1.43D. Near-astigmatism power change, mean +0.12D, 10 years age group +0.06D, 20 years age group +0.16D, 30 years age group +0.09D, 40 years age group +0.05D, and 50 years age group +0,06D. No significant difference of astigmatism powers among the an groups, but from all years age group the astigmatism power appeared more highly far-astigmatism than near-astigmatism. Near-astigmatism axis change in the far-astigmatism changes at under ${\pm}10^{\circ}$ 103 eyes, above ${\pm}10^{\circ}$ rotation clockwise direction 108 eyes, above ${\pm}10^{\circ}$ rotation counter-clockwise direction 101 eyes. It was analyzed near-astigmatism axis change.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between metabolic syndrome and cataract in a middle-aged men over the age of 40's by using the data from the 5th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2010~2012). Methods: The subjects for the analysis were comprised of 5,808 patients who were at least 40 years or more with metabolic syndrome and cataract. The comparison between the metabolic syndrome and ophthalmic diseases according to the health demographic characteristics, health behavior and health conditions was analyzed with ${\chi}^2-test$. The complex samples logistic regression analysis was used to calculate the odds ratio of cataract according to the health demographic characteristics, health behavior and health conditions and the combination of the comprising factors of the metabolic syndrome. Results: After controlling the confounding factors, the odds ratio of cataract in the metabolic syndrome group was OR 1.30, which was significantly high (p<0.01). Furthermore, the odds ratio of cataract was significantly high in the case of males, as the age increased, educational level decreased, with exercising habits of less than 3 days a week, sun exposure of at least 5 hours, with hypertension and diabetes (p<0.01). The results of analyzing the odds ratio for the occurrence of cataract with the components of metabolic syndrome were OR 1.36 (concurrent high fasting blood glucose, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol), OR 1.63 (concurrent high fasting blood glucose, high triglycerides, high waist circumference) and OR 1.33 (high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, high waist circumference), which showed significantly high odds ratio for cataract occurrence (p<0.05). Conclusions: We come to know that the relation between metabolic syndrome and components are associate with cataract. Therefore the thorough management of metabolic syndrome and components is needed to prevent cataract.
