  • Purpose: This study was to describe nurses' research activities, perceptions and performances of evidence-based practice and barriers to the use of research evidence in nursing practice in Korea. Method: A cross-sectional survey design was used. A questionnaire, except for Barriers Scale, was developed for the study. Data was collected from a convenient sample of 437 registered nurses working at research and education oriented university hospitals. Result: Nurses' research-related activities were relatively low compared to previous studies. Also perceptions and performances of evidence based nursing practice were low. Preferred informational resources for clinical decision making were identified as ward manuals/clinical guidelines, manager/senior nurses, and literature/research. The major barriers to research utilization were a lack of implication for practice along with inadequate facilitation to implement research evidence and difficulty understanding research written in English. Priorities of barriers factor were Administrator, Communication, Adopter, and Research. Conclusion: The findings provide directions for future training, education, and managerial policy to achieve successful evidence based nursing practice.

  • The study was designed to identify the attitude of nursing students to fundamental nursing practice through Q-methodology. A Q sample was developed through a review of the literature and interviews. Forty statements made up the finalized Q-sample. The P sample consisted of 25 nursing students in S College. Q statements were written on separate cards and were given to the 25 subjects to sort according to degree of agreement or disagreement. The Q-sort by each subject was coded and analyzed with QUANL PC Program. The analysis discovered three major attitudes, namely "type 1: passive demand", "type 2: active self-confidence", "type 3: practical application". The correlation was .213 between type 1 and 2, .409 between type 1 and 3, .379 between t ype 2 and 3. The results revealed three different types of fundamental nursing practice attitude; 1) Passive demand type: they were not satisfied with fundamental nursing practice time, the number of persons, practice machines. They presented anxiety and worry through fundamental nursing practice. Therefore, they will presenta passive attitude of clinical practice experience. 2) Active self-confidence type: they experienced pride as a nursing student and fascination as a nurse was an acquired recognition. 3) Practical application type: they practiced that fundamental nursing skill was applied their family and oneself. Therefore they had tension through initial fundamental nursing practice but they gained self-confidence and interest through practical study. In conclusion, the researchers suggest that the education program would be more effective if it was planned considering to each types of attitude of nursing students for fundamental nursing practicer fundamental nursing practice

  • Purpose: This exploratory study aims to identify various factors influencing the level of nursing professionalism among nursing students. Methods: This study surveyed 246 senior nursing students in U city with a structured self-report questionnaire analyzed with SPSS 22.0. Results: The average scores for clinical practice learning environment, self-leadership, clinical practice belonging, and nursing professionalism were 3.16, 3.77, 3.53, and 3.60, respectively. There were significant differences in nursing professionalism according to the subjects' satisfaction with the nursing major and satisfaction with the amount of nursing. The most significant factors affecting nursing professionalism included clinical practice learning environment (${\beta}=.40$, p<.001), self-leadership (${\beta}=.21$, p=.001), and clinical practice belonging (${\beta}=.16$, p=.011). These variables explained 39% of the total variance in nursing professionalism. Conclusion: Clinical practice learning environment, self-leadership, and clinical practice belonging are factors in the nursing professionalism of senior nursing students. Collaborative efforts by universities and clinics are needed to improve the clinical training environment and to produce good nurses. Particularly since few studies have been conducted in Korea on clinical practice belonging, it is meaningful to explore how clinical practice belonging affects nursing professionalism.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of intensive and critical care nursing competence in senior nursing students. Methods: The research method for this study comprised a descriptive survey study with a convenience sample of 113 senior nursing students from one university. The instrument entitled ICCN-CS-1, which measures intensive and critical care nursing competence, was translated by the authors following WHO guidelines for translation process. The data were collected using ICCN-CS-1. Results: The mean score of intensive and critical care nursing was above the intermediate level. The competence indices of knowledge, skill and attitude/value were also above the intermediate level, which suggests that their competence is good. For two intensive and critical care nursing domains, the nursing students' mean score of clinical competence is higher than that of professional competence. The competence of intensive and critical care is also influenced by nursing students' satisfaction in their major and clinical practice as well as their confidence in clinical practice. Conclusion: The senior nursing students' competence of intensive and critical care nursing is above the intermediate level. A consideration of the influencing factors of satisfaction of nursing major/ICU practice and confidence of ICU practice is needed in intensive and critical care nursing education.

The cyber universities that fully gives on-line classes even open as theory classes. They speak about difficulty and limitation of operating cyber class with practice. So, many of them organize off-line special lecture at the classroom in weekend. In the reason of studying that has the constraints of time and space, the student wastage rates in cyber universities are going higher. This research focused on giving an efficient e-learning practice environment in college e-learning courses, and operated scholastic achievement test between the augmented reality(AR) based practice education and the existing classroom based practice education. The subjects of study were totally 84 people who are the freshmen of the design department in the two-year diploma course college. They were divided 3 groups which one was treated AR based practice e-learning and two others groups were existing classroom based practice. Each of the group took the same treated lecture during 7 weeks. The first of the outcome was the AR based practice e-learning was more effective than existing classroom based practice on the side of scholastic achievement. • As a result of analyzing problems in field practice and its effects, the following conclusions can be obtained. Man students were more satisfied with their choice of this department than woman students and woman students recognized the importance of hospital practice although they felt the need of fire fighting station practice and man students felt the necessity of hospital practice, but they answered the fire fighting station practice was important. Departments of field practice are emergency and nurse departments in hospitals and emergency aid section in fire fighting stations. And it is found that field practice was performed well in relation to major subject. Areas of practice included emergency room, operation room and extensive cure unit and the experience of ambulance was more in fire fighting station than in hospital. Clinical guidance of professor was preferred to once a week and the students answered they felt satisfaction with practice through conference. Answer that field practice was helpful in understanding class was very high as 96.8% and its connection with employment was low as 12.8%. It is found that a proper timing of field practice was winter vacation for hospital practice after completing the second semester of the first year and summer vacation for fire fighting station practice after the first semester of the second year. The most difficult department in field practice was nurse department in hospital because 'respondents were practice students' and administrative department in fire fighting stations because 'they lacked recognition of paramedic'. In making practice diary, 'describing measure results' was difficult most and the respondents wanted to keep the diary in their custody.
