FGI 분석을 통한 공과대학생의 전공 유지와 진로 결정의 영향 요인 탐색 (Exploring Factors Affecting Major Persistence and Career Decision of Engineering Students through FGI Analysis)

  • This research aims to explore the factors affecting engineering students' major persistence and career decision. To achieve this goal, the experiences and perceptions of engineering students and other stakeholders regarding the factors influencing engineering students' major persistence and career decision were analyzed through online focus group interviews (FGI). The analysis of the interviews resulted in the identification of seven categories, which include meeting with older alumni, team project experiences, and internship experiences as factors influencing major persistence. Additionally, engineering interest, engineering self-efficacy, employment rates, economic factors, and limitations in women engineers' career development were identified as factors affecting career decision. Based on these findings, it is expected that engineering education will develop plans that focus on supporting the major persistence and career development of engineering students, thereby contributing to the future direction of engineering education.

식품영양학 전궁 비전공에 따른 남녀대학생의 식의식 실태조사 (The Research in Actual State of Food Consciousness of Male, Female College Students by Major, Non-major in Food Dietetics)

  • By the research of the actual state of food consciousness as the object of male, female 421 college students by major, non-major in food dietetics, the results are as follows. The validity degree of the guestion article appeared at the analysis of the knowledge of nutrition(the figure of Cronbach "${\alpha}$" overall 0.58, major 0.62, non-major 0.57). In the interest degree about nutrition knowledge of the major students were significant(P<0.05), but the non-major students were not significant, and there was a difference between two groups of the male and female, major and non-major students in the information about knowledge. The knowledge of the major students mostly get from school education, non-major from mass communication as TV and rodio, etc. There was not significant difference in self-consciousness degree of health of all the male, female students by major, non-major, and the self-consciousness degree about health of should not be significant to the food habit. Therefore deviating from acquirement of nutrition knowledge by the wrong medium of food consciousness of home dietary life, improvement plans should be activated for the right knowledge to practice in actual life. Taking the opportunity of food and nutrition education through literary subject in the curriculum of the college for students, good food consciousness must be properly applied all the part of dietary life, and it is urgent for them to carry out scientific and reasonable curriculum and educational material development.

가정교육과 학생들의 학과만족도와 진로결정수준 (Major satisfaction and career decision level of students in dept. of Home Economics Education)

  • 가정교육과 학생들의 학과만족도와 진로결정수준을 살펴봄으로써 가정교육과 학생들의 진로지도에 도움이 되고자 하였다. 2011년 10월에서 11월까지 서울소재 2개 대학과 지방소재 2개 대학 가정교육과 학생들과 서울소재 A대학의 국어와 수학교육과 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 가정교육과 학생들의 일반적 관심에 따른 학과만족도는 보통이상이나 사회적 인식에 따른 학과만족도는 낮게 나타났으며 국어나 수학교육과와 비교해 매우 낮게 나타났다. 학교에 따라서도 학과만족도에 차이가 나타났으며, 학년이 높을수록 학과만족도가 높게 나타났으나 성별에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 가장 고려하는 직업으로 타과교사와 전공 비관련 직업을 들었고 가정교사는 가장 고려하지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 전공 관련 직업을 고려하는 학생들이 전공 비관련 직업을 고려하는 학생들보다 학과만족도가 높게 나타났다. 진로결정수준은 보통으로 나타났으며 학과, 학교, 학년, 성별, 고려직업 모두에 따라서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 진로결정수준은 학과만족도 중 일반적 관심 만족에만 정적인 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이상에서 가정교과가 사회에서 꼭 필요하고 타 교과와 차별화되는 교과로 인식될 수 있도록 가정교과의 패러다임을 확립하고 이에 따른 교과과정으로 개편하여 가정교과에 대한 비전을 제시하고, 교과내용에 대한 흥미를 높이고 학습동기를 유발할 수 있는 교수방법을 개발 사용하는 등의 노력을 기울임으로써 학생들의 가정교육에 대한 신념과 열의를 높여 학과에 대한 만족도를 높여야 할 것으로 생각된다. 또한 학생들의 전공과 관련된 다양한 진로에 대한 정보제공이나 진로상담 등이 활성화되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

  • 전 세계적으로 과학, 기술, 공학, 예술, 수학이 융합된 STEAM교육이 강조되고 있는 가운데 우리나라도 STEAM교육의 효율성을 높여줄 수 있는 콘텐츠에 대한 관심과 적용이 늘어가고 있다. 본 논문은 "공업입지론" 내용을 바탕으로 개발된 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠의 교육적 효과를 향상시키고자 분석 피드백 기능을 강화하였다. 강화된 분석 피드백 기능은 첫째, 학습자가 공장 선택 조건과 각 공장의 장점 확인, 둘째, 상품의 운송조건 제시, 셋째, 학습 결과에 대한 분석이다. 이에 학습자가 콘텐츠를 통해 학습하는 과정에서 분석 피드백을 제공 받아 학습에 대한 이해도 등 교육적 효과를 향상 시키고자 한다.

체육전공 남학생과 비전공 남학생의 영양지식, 식태도 및 식습관에 관한 연구 (The Nutrition Knowledge, Attitudes, and Dietary Habits of Physical Education Majors and Non-majors of Male College Students)

  • This study was performed to investigate the nutrition knowledge, attitudes, and dietary habits of physical education (PE) major and non-majors of male college students. The subjects were 253 students residing in Gyeonggi area. Nutrition knowledge scores of PE major students were lower than that of non-major students. Both PE major and non-major students reported TV, radio, and internet as their primary sources of nutrition information. Overall dietary attitude scores of two groups did not differ significantly, but PE major students showed more positive attitudes than non-major students for 'Enjoy eating foods that are good for health'. PE major students took more number of meals a day and took more irregularly than non-major students. Also they used more nutrient supplements than non-major students. PE major students drank more amounts of alcohol and drank more frequently than non-major students. But the smoking status of the two groups was not significantly different. PE major students scored higher than non-major students in dietary habits on balance of meals in spite of their low nutrition knowledge scores. Therefore, it is suggested that nutritional programs for PE major and non-major college students should be developed. (Korean J Community Nutrition 14(4) : $363{\sim}373$, 2009)

컴퓨터 전공 신입생의 성공적 적응 요인 분석 (Analysis of Successful Adaptation Factors of Computer Science Freshmen Students)

  • As other major, students have difficulties to be successfully adapted to computer science major without some interest and skill to computer programming. In this paper, we try to find successful factors for computer science major freshmen students to computer programming. The factors we focused are programming experience before college entrance, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, application motivations to computer major, existence of mentors, satisfaction to his/her computer department, student's holland job aptitude code. After analysis, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, satisfaction to computer department, some holland job aptitude code are significant to their successful adaptation to computer major. Also, we found the holland job apptitude code is closely related to student's satisfaction to their major for engineering students including computer science students. Our analysis results will be a suggestion for designing computer science education program with students who enters college without some aptitude or preparation to his major.

식생활교육 프로그램의 중요도-만족도 분석 - 서울·경기 식생활교육 프로그램 참여자를 중심으로 - (Importance-Satisfaction Analysis of a Dietary Life Education Program - Focusing on Dietary Life Education Program Participants in Seoul and Gyeonggi -)

  • This study was conducted to determine the elements that are required and that need improvement in the contents of dietary life education and the educational environment by analyzing the importance-satisfaction of a dietary life education program for dietary life education trainees. The results of the rank test for the satisfactory elements of dietary life education were in the order of competence of instructors, educational contents, time of education, educational environment and affordability of tuition. The importance-satisfaction analysis of the contents and construction of the dietary life education program showed that "suitable contents for the theme of the class", "contents and construction of practice class", "diversity of practice menu" and "diversity of educational contents" had high importance and satisfaction scores and therefore, could be maintained at their current levels. Meanwhile, "adequacy of class time" and "contents and construction of theory class" showed low importance and satisfaction scores, requiring a little effort. Whereas, "time and construction of group practice", "structure of textbook for class" and "duration of course and number of classes" showed relatively low satisfaction compared to importance, requiring major efforts for improvement. Similarly, analysis of the lecture element from dietary life education showed that "professional lecture by instructors", "lectures suitable for themes" and "lecture applicable in real life" had relatively low satisfaction compared to importance, requiring major efforts for improvement. In addition, analysis of the educational environment from dietary life education showed that "adequacy of lecture room space", "cooking equipment", "diversity of cooking utensils" and "sanitary condition of cooking utensils" also require major efforts for improvement. Therefore, dietary life education should not be executed with a simple delivery of knowledge but with both theory and practice classes to increase its application in real life, and active and specific efforts are required to nurture professional instructors and establish educational strategies.

공학계열 전공 선택 동기와 후회에 대한 남녀 차이 (Gender Disparity in Engineering: Why Chose an Engineering Major and Why Regret It?)

  • The underrepresentation of women in engineering has received considerable attention. A series of policies and practices have been developed to promote gender-balanced participation in engineering. This study focuses on gender disparities in reasons for the choice of engineering majors and regret of that choice. The regression results show that compared to their male counterparts, women are found to select an engineering major primarily based on their high school GPA or CSAT scores rather than their aptitudes and interests. Accordingly, women regret their major choice more than men due to mismatched expectations and abilities or unsatisfactory postgraduate labor market outcomes. The findings provide policy insights to improve gender equity in engineering by further enhancing career education in secondary schools.

프로그래밍 교육이 대학 신입생들의 전공결정에 미치는 영향 분석 (The Effects Analysis of Programming Education to Freshmen's Major Choice)

  • 본 연구에서는 전공을 정하지 않고 2학년 때부터 전공수업을 시작하는 신입생을 대상으로 2015년 1학기에 프로그래밍 교육을 진행하여 그 영향이 어떠한지 분석하고, 프로그래밍 교육을 필수로 수강하지 않은 2013년 신입생 대상 설문결과와 비교하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 소프트웨어 교육의 실효성을 검증한 후 2018년부터 고교과정에서 정규교과목화 되는 소프트웨어 교육의 영향을 예측하는데 있다. 설문분석 결과 프로그래밍 수업이 전공분야를 결정하는 데 영향을 주었다. 고교 재학 시 문과계열 학생들이 이과계열 전공분야 선택으로 이동하는 경향이 뚜렷하였으며, 취득한 성적이 높은 학생들이 이동한 비중이 높았다. 본 연구의 시사점은 첫째, 프로그래밍 교육이 전공 결정에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구로는 국내에서 최초로 시도되어 소프트웨어 교육의 효용성을 알게 한다는 점이다. 둘째, 2018년부터 고교 정규교육과정으로 시행되는 소프트웨어 교육의 영향과 효과성을 예측하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다. 셋째, 프로그래밍 교육 확산은 소프트웨어 인재 양성에 주력하는 정책에 부합하며, 장기적으로 이공계 기피현상을 완화하는 데 일조한다는 것을 알게 한다.
