The purpose of this research was to investigate the most critical variables in the school adjustment of youth. In addition, this research assessed the impact of variables according to the categorization of individual, family, and school domains. To acquire the effect sizes, published studies between 1990 and 2012 were reviewed systematically and synthesized by meta-analysis. The major findings were as follows. First, this study identified a total of 34 variables which can have an influence on the school adjustment of youth and confirmed that 24 of those variables are significant. The most crucial variable that can influence school adjustment is that of a teacher's support. The next most important variables are self-resilience, relationships with friends, and self-efficiency. Focusing on the categorized elements, self-resilience is the most critical variable in the individual domain, the parent-child relation is the most crucial variable in the family domain, and a teacher's support is the most powerful variable in the school domain. Based on these results, this study suggested a number of the indispensable components in interventions to improve the youth's adjustment in school.
As software development and maintenance cost increase quickly, information systems managers are more concerned about how to effectively manage software cost. To estimate the software development cost, most public institutes of Korea use the software cost estimation standard established by the government. Unfortunately, the accuracy of the estimation derived from the standard has not been satisfactory in spite of repetitive modifications made to improve it. One of the major reasons for the inaccuracy is that the standard has too small a number of cost adjustment factors to reflect the various characteristics of a software development project. To remedy this problem, we propose new cost adjustment factors which can be incorporated into the standard and are important to enhance the estimation accuracy, based on the analysis of several well-known software estimation models. Furthermore, by applying the proposed model to real world software projects, we show that the proposed model can produce more accurate estimates than the current standard.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relative influence of OCM and BSM's family functioning dimensions and develop a new family system model related to adolescent adjustment. The 443 subjects were selected randomly from the second grade of middle and high schools in the city of Taegu. The survey instruments were FACESⅢ, SFI-Ⅱ, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Depression Scale, Self-Esteem Scale, and Delinquency Scale, Factor Analysis, Cronbach's α, Multiple Regression, MANOVA, Scheffe test were conducted for the data analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, OCM's and BSM's family functioning dimensions respectively had different relative influence that affected adolescent adjustment level. In anxiety and depression. BSM's family health/competence dimension had superior influence to any other family functioning dimensions and in self-esteem and delinquency, OCM's cohesion dimension was superior to any other family functions. Second, family system classification method by a new family system model using family cohesion(OCM's relationship dimension) and family health/competence(BSM's change dimension) was more useful than OCM in evaluating adolescent adjustment.
The objective of this investigation is to establish a simple yet effective block adjustment procedure for the orthorectification of multi-orbit satellite images. The major works of the proposed scheme are: (1) adjustment of satellite‘s orbit accurately, (2) calculation of the error vectors for each tie point using digital terrain model and ray tracing technique, (3) refining the orbit using the Least Squares Filtering technique and (4) generation of the orthophotos. In the process of least squares filtering, we use the residual vectors on ground control points and tie points to collocate the orbit. In orthorectification, we use the indirect method to generate the orthoimage. Test areas cover northern Taiwan. Test images are from SPOT 5 satellite. Experimental results indicate that proposed method improves the relative accuracy significantly.

This study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing adjustment to college life by nursing college students. Data were collected from 408 nursing students in B city from May 8, 2017 to May 12 and analyzed by ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0. The degree of adjustment to college life by nursing students was $3.24{\pm}.49$. There were significant differences in adjustment to college life with respect to grade(t=2.687, p<0.001), age(F=3.187, p=0.042), academic grade(F=18.551, p<0.001), satisfaction with major(F=61.347, p<0.001), and relationship with colleagues (F=28.273, p<0.001). There were positive correlations between adjustment to college life and emotional intelligence(r=0.421, p<0.001), humor sense(r=0.360, p<0.001), and ego resilience(r=0.418, p<0.001). Regression analysis showed 41.7% of variance in nursing student's adjustment to college life was caused by grade, academic scores, satisfaction with major, relationship with colleagues, emotional intelligence, and ego resilience. Several major results were found from the analysis: First, boys' aggression was higher than girls'. But no age difference was found in children's aggression. Second, game-addiction tendency had a positive correlation with children's aggression. In addition, self-esteem had a negative correlation with boys' aggression. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of college life adjustment on emotional intelligence in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 550 dental hygiene students in Daegu from May to June, 2016. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, emotional intelligence scale, and student adaptation to college questionnaire using Likert 5 point scale. Data were analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA, post hoc $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation test, and multiple regression test. Results: The mean scores of emotional intelligence 3.40 points and college life adjustment 3.14 points were above average. Every sub-field of emotional intelligence had static correlation, and there was a close correlation between college life adjustment and every specific field. The academic adjustment (r=0.515) and institutional adjustment (r=0.458) showed strong correlation with the emotional intelligence. The higher the emotional intelligence score was, the higher the college life adjustment was. Variables having statistically significant influence on college life adjustment included economic status, major satisfaction, self-emotional, use of emotional and emotional control (37.7%, p<0.001). Conclusions: Emotional intelligence played a significant role in dental hygiene students to adapt well with the demands of college life. The college should provide the efficient programs in the curriculum that helps enhance emotional intelligence of the students.
