  • The Oxygen Index was measured for another flame retardant APP, or phosphorus, and other flame retarding assistants ZS, ZHS, AOM, and ZB, which are used as low smoke emitting materials, in order to see the increase in the flame retardation effect in comparison to the volume of additions. The results show that their flame retardation synergy effect was very small compared to the main flame retardants. The mixed use of main flame retardants, low smoking emitting materials, and phosphorus is a very important area of examination for creating synergy effect of flame retardation and lowering smoking and toxicity. For this, the results of flame retardation effect in comparison to the volume of addition of each low smoke emitting material are shown below.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the effects of Pilates mat exercise may improve trunk muscle thickness and balance in healthy adults. Methods: Eighteen healthy adults participated in this study. They were randomly assigned to one of two groups: Pilates mat exercise group (n=9) and the control group (n=9). Subjects in Pilates mat exercise group performed the exercises three days per week for 6 weeks, which consisted of warm up, main workout, and cool down. Trunk muscle thickness of the rectus abdominis (RA), internal oblique (IO), external oblique (EO), transverse abdominis (TrA), multifidus (MF), and erector spine (ES) were measured using an ultrasonography. Balance ability was evaluated using Romberg test and limits of stability (LOS). Measurements were performed before training, 3 weeks after training, and 6 weeks after training. Results: There was a significant difference of RA, EO, IO, MF, and ES according to the main effect of time (p<0.05). There was a significant difference of EO, MF, ES, Romberg, and LOS according to interaction effect between the time and group (p<0.05). There was a significant difference only for LOS according to the main effect of the group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Pilates mat exercise did increase trunk muscle thickness and balance. However, the effect with respect to trunk thickness was limited. Pilates mat exercise appears to be more effective in improving muscles related to trunk extension and balance.

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the crack stability of the nuclear main stresm pipes, considering the load reduction effect due to the presence of circumferential throuth-wall crack. Also, the optimization techniques are adoped tosimulate the crack effect on the elbow component of the piuping system. By using a general beam elemetn which contains a discontinuous cross-section, the piping analysis is accomplished to acquire the reduced load. Considering this reduced load, it is feasible for the LBB application in nuclear main stresm pipe. Also, by combining an optimization program and a genaral finite element analysis program, the appropriate dimensions of the simplified beam elemtn which represents the effect of crack in elbow could be successfully determined.

  • It takes long time in numerical simulation because structural design for tire requires the nonlinear material property. Neural networks has been widely studied to engineering design to reduce numerical computation time. The numbers of hidden layer, hidden layer neuron and training data have been considered as the structural design variables of neural networks. In application of neural networks to optimize design, there are a few studies about arrangement method of input layer neurons. To investigate the effect of input layer neuron arrangement on neural networks, the variables of tire contour design and tension in bead area were assigned to inputs and output for neural networks respectively. Design variables arrangement in input layer were determined by main effect analysis. The number of hidden layer, the number of hidden layer neuron and the number of training data and so on have been considered as the structural design variables of neural networks. In application to optimization design problem of neural networks, there are few studies about arrangement method of input layer neurons. To investigate the effect of arrangement of input neurons on neural network learning tire contour design parameters and tension in bead area were assigned to neural input and output respectively. • This paper describes the analysis of the effect on personnel computer in case of turning off power supply of main breaker in general electrical installation. In order to analyze the effect on personnel computer in case of turning off the power supply of main breaker, the switching impulse generator has been designed and fabricated which makes it possible to evaluate the effect on electrical product by switching impulse. The switching impulse tests were carried out for personnel computer according to applied voltage and number of switching impulse. As a consequence, switching impulse had not a significant influence on personnel computer in this study. The varistor of power input section functions as a protection of switching impulse as well as lightning impulse. The results will be used to related organization, and electrical product manufacturer, and residents.

  • The research institute has a function to get the research outcome through the various experiments, data collection and analysis. Therefore, research building is important to keep the research condition or experiment environment. But buildings would be deteriorated and leaded into the deterrence of research. Maintenance is planned to protect the research building condition through various general repair or heavy repair. The heavy repair is generally conducted in massive repair scope or main components preparation. In this paper, it aimed at analyzing the effect of the massive or main components repair with inputted cost and its resulted output. In order to analyze the effect of a massive repair, it used the Benefit/Cost analysis and sensitivity analysis. Results of this study are as follows : The benefit/cost analysis shows that research building whose researcher continuously live and study has good effect. On the contrary, pace of the the experimental function is not good effect in benefit/cost analysis. But the experimental function is indispensible to get the research outcom for the research goal. Therefore, the experimental function will be planned to repair and get the historical repair data because the proper repair time would be prepared to cut down the repair cost.

  • Aftermarket refers to a market in which a company sells complementary goods, replacements of parts, and upgrade or maintenance services to consumers after selling them main durable goods. Intuitively, consumers who purchase main durable goods become major potential customers in subsequent aftermarket. Thus the existence of the aftermarket has a significant impact on pricing of the main durable goods as well as the aftermarket products. In this study, we analyze the effect of aftermarket on the pricing strategy for a company selling both main durable goods and aftermarket products. To do this we first divided the market into markets where the aftermarket products are indispensable and optional. Based on the proposed market types, the profit maximizing solutions are derived using two-period model, and the impacts of consumers' undervaluation of aftermarket product prices on pricing strategy are analyzed. The results can be summarized as follows : (1) Regardless of the market type, the total profits were found to be inversely proportional to the consumer's awareness accuracy of product prices in the aftermarket. This is in line with marketing efforts that sales companies have made intuitively to make consumers underestimate the cost of the aftermarket. (2) If aftermarket product is indispensable, only revenue from the aftermarket is sought. On the other hand, if aftermarket product is optional, revenue from the main durable good as well as the aftermarket product will be sought simultaneously. (3) Moreover, when aftermarket product is optional, the lower the awareness accuracy of consumers, the higher the price and profit of the main durable goods, while the lower the price and profit of the aftermarket products. This is contrary to the intuition that the lower the consumer's valuation of the costs of aftermarket, the more advantageous it would be to rely on aftermarket products rather than on main durable goods.

  • This work is proposed an alternative identification method of outlying cell which is one of important issues in categorical data analysis. One finds that there is a strong relationship between the location of an outlying cell and the corresponding parameter estimates of the well-fitted log-linear model. Among parameters of log-linear model, an outlying cell is affected by interaction terms rather than main effect terms. Hence one could identify an outlying cell by investigating of parameter estimates in an appropriate log-linear model.

  • When there is no main effcts or only one main effect in a $2 \times 2$ factorial design, Type I error rates and power for the rank transformed F test (FR test) for interaction are nearly equal to those of the classical F test. However the power of FR test is quite superior under the exponential distribution rather than the of FR test is quite superior under the exponential distribution rather than the normal distribution. Meanwhile when both main effects are in the model, Type I error rates of FR test, compared with those of F test, decrease as the effect size increases and are dependent on the fashion in which main effects are constructed. In addition, the power of FR test increases as the effect size and the sample size increase and is highly dependent on the manner in which main effects are constructed and the type of population distribution.
