  • The recent trains are almost being operated by the mechanical propulsion force to drive the gear and wheel with the traction motor. However Magnetic Levitation Vehicle is differently operated. Magnetic Levitation Vehicle is applied with Linear Induction Motor(LIM) that has many advantage like to high capability of going up to slope, low noise, easy to control of speed. So domestic and many advanced countries are interested in Magnetic Levitation Vehicle and they have been studying about it continuously. Thus this paper is studied the LIM test method of static states and guess the optimum driving point by characteristic of static states for LIM. The test items are measurement of thrust force by changed air gap, measurement of thrust force and normal force by changed slip frequency etc.

  • Steel doors, which are common in general buildings, do not seal the gap between the door and the floor, so drafts, noise, dust, and lights flow from the outside, and shielding devices are installed in various materials and methods, such as adding magnetic gate paper to the side of the door or installing a gasket under the door, but performance is limited. Accordingly, in order to fundamentally solve these problems, we researched and developed a double gap blocking device that can improve fire resistance and airtightness performance in steel doors. Unlike general products, the double gap blocking device has the advantage of maximizing airtight performance by forming an air layer in the center when the door is closed, as well as greatly improving the fire resistance performance, which is the basic performance of the fire door.

  • Combination of magnetic recording technology and optical recording technology such as Near Field Optical Recording is watched recently. In order to accomplish this technology, the development of an electromagnetic driven mm-sized mirror shifting laser beam in track direction have to needed. In Near Field Optical Recording System, shifting laser beam in track direction mean as fine tracking and means as coarse tracking. Therefore in Near Field Optical Recording, 2-stage actuator is composed of servo controller in reading or recording information on disc layer. In our research, through design and simulation process of driven mm-sized mirror, we arrange systematically design process of driven mm-sized mirror having good frequency transfer characteristics. Design and simulation processes included modal analysis of spring, calculation of magnetic moment according to the number of turns and geometric configuration of coil and magnetic circuit analysis meaning that calculation of magnetic flux density in air gap of magnetic circuit. After that we design and make parts of driven mm-sized mirror, assemble and evaluate our electriomagnetic driven mm-sized mirror. we compared design values with actual characteristic values and present solution scheme. Through these processes we performed manufacturing of an electromagnetic driven mm-sized mirror having good frequency-domain characteristics and high sensitivity characteristics.

  • Magnetic levitation systems using the attraction force of electromagnets have many constraints according to the variation of air gap and the nonlinearity of electromagnetic force and inductances. As a result of these constraints, the nonlinear control of a magnetic levitation system has been improved by the latest advanced processors and accurate measurement system which can overcome problems such as many constraints and nonlinearity. This paper concentrates on the modeling of a nonlinear magnetic levitation system and an application of an exponential reaching law based sliding mode controller using the exponential reaching law which is one of the most robust controllers against external unexpected disturbances or parameter fluctuations. Controllability of a magnetic levitation system using the sliding mode control algorithm and robustness against parameter fluctuations have been verified through the experimental results.

  • To analyze the transient state of an induction motor, there have been studies for using the magnetic equivalent circuit method(MECD) instead of the time differential finite-element method. MECD which analyzes magnetic equivalent circuits after converting each part of an electric machine into the magnetic circuit elements, has the merits of short calculation-time and comparatively accurate results. To analyze an electric machine with MECM, we have to replace stator and rotor with the magnetic elements and express the air gap, where electromechanical energy conversion takes place, with the permeance. So in this study, to analyze an Induction Motor with HECM, we express the magnetic equivalent circuit as algebraic equations and then as the matrix for solving easily them. In particular, all relations are formed with matrixes to solve Mathematically them in the programming process later. As a result, this theory will be the basis on the static and dynamic analysis of an Induction Motor.

  • Magnetic force calculation methods such as Maxwell stress, virtual work principle, equivalent magnetic charge, and equivalent magnetizing current are widely used until now. The force density is still controversial issue even though it is common sense that all of these methods have legitimate results. The surface force densities of each method are quite different with each other in the point of numerical result and final expression. In this paper, it is shown that a unified expression of body force density is derived using virtual air-gap scheme for an analytic model in which cylindrical magnetic material with a vertical current runs through its center.

  • Magnetic characteristics of a brushless disk type motor has been analyzed taking into account the magnetization distribution in the rotor magnet. This paper describes a method for calculating the 3D flux density in the air gap and calculates the induced voltage of the windings and the torque betweens the permanent magnet and the amateur current.

  • This paper describes an exciting current calculation method for transformers by finite element method. In case of a special case such as air-gap presence, one can not calculate exciting current accurately using exciting power curves due to flinging effect, magnetic saturation and so on. Transient analysis with external circuit is performed with a 2D model and compared to a test result.

  • This paper presents modeling of an inductive micro position sensing system and its analysis. The parameters affected the system response are excitation frequency, turn ratio, input position, air-gap size, load resistance, and geometric dimensions. To analyze the system, we try to establish a modeling based on an equivalent magnetic circuit with permeances. The model is verified by the experimental results from 1 kHz to 20 kHz. The magnetic circuit model is well fitted to the experimental data except a little error due to LC resonance in the large turn-ratio system. Modeling enables us to theoretically approach the response characteristics. Based on the magnetic circuit model, system parameters can be selected in such a way to obtain the required characteristics such as high sensitivity, good linearity, or small size.

  • This paper presents a design and performance of the 6 D.O.F linear motion table with a magnetic bearing suspension. The linear positioning of the table with a 150mm stroke is driven by a brushless DC Linear motor and the other attitudes of the stage are controlled by the analog PD controller with magnetic bearing actuators. Each magnetic bearing unit which consists of 3 electromagnets, 3 capacitance probes and 3 backup bearings affords controlled forces by detecting the air gap between the probes and guideways. An integral type capacitance probe amplifier is equipped on the upper plate of the table so that the probe line to the probe amplifier can be shorter therefore the problems due to the stray capacitance and noise can be reduced. Form the pitch-yaw errormeasured by the autocollimator, the vertical and horizont straightness errors of the table are derived that they are maintained below 1.mu. m over 100mm stroke. The positioning accuracy of the linear motion is maintained below 2 .mu. m and the repeatability error is below 1 .mu. m
