고상반응법으로 제조된 Ba2Co2Fe12O22분말의 자기적 성질과 미세구조에 미치는 금속이온몰비와 열처리 온도의 영향 (Effects of Metal Ion Mole Ratio and Calcination Temperatures on Magnetic Properties and Microstructure of Ba2Co2Fe12O22 Powders Synthesized by Solid State Reaction)

  • Y-type 바리움 페라이트 $Ba_2Co_2Fe_{12}O_{22}$를 고상반응법으로 제조하고 금속이온몰비($Fe^{3+}:\;Ba^{2+}:\;Co^{2+}$)와 열처리 온도가 자기적 성 질과 미세구조에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 상분석과 미세구조는 각각 XRD(X-ray diffractometer)와 FESEM(field effect scanning electron microscope)을 이용하여 조사하였으며 분말의 자기적 성질은 VSM(vibrating sample magnetometer)을 이용하여 조사하였다. 금속이온몰비($Fe^{3+}:\;Ba^{2+}:\;Co^{2+}$)가 6 : 1 : 1인 조성의 분말을 $1050\;{^{\circ}C}$에서 열처리하였을 때 단일 상이 합성되었으며 8 : 1 : 1인 조성의 분말을 $1200\;{^{\circ}C}$에서 열처리하였을 때 가장 높은 포화자화값(39.1 emu/g)을 나타내었다.

고온초전도 박막선재용 Ni-$W_{xat.%}$ 및 (Ni-$W_{3at.%}$)-$CU_{xat.%}$ 이축배향 금속 기판들의 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of Both Ni-W and (Ni-3%W)-Cu Textured Substrates for ReBCO Coated Conductor)

  • The magnetic properties of a series of both annealed and as-rolled Ni-$W_y$ alloy tapes with compositions y = 0, 1, 3, and 5 at.%, were studied. To compare with Ni-W alloys, the magnetic properties of a series of both annealed and as-rolled $[Ni_{97at.%}W_{3at.%}]_{100-x}Cu_x$ alloy tapes with compositions x = 0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 at.%, were studied, as well. Both the isothermal mass magnetization M(H) of a series of samples, such as both Ni-W and [Ni-W]-Cu alloy tapes, at different fixed temperatures and M(T) in fixed field, were measured using a PPMS-9 (Quantum Design). The degree of ferromagnetism of Ni-$W_y$ alloys have reduced as W-content y increases. Both the saturation magnetization $M_{sat}$ and Curie temperature $T_c$ decrease linearly with W-content y, and both $M_{sat}$ and $T_c$ go to zero at critical concentration of $y_c$ ~ 9.50 at.% W. The effect of Cu addition on both the saturation magnetization $M_sat$ and Curie temperature $T_c$ decrease linearly with Cu-content x in $[Ni_{97at.%}W_{3at.%}]_{100-x}Cu_x$ alloy tapes with compositions x = 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 at.%. The results confirm that [Ni-W]-Cu alloy tapes can have much reduced ferromagnetism as Cu-content x increases.

Cr 치환된 역스피넬 Fe3O4 박막의 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of Cr-Doped Inverse Spinel Fe3O4 Thin Films)

  • 역스피넬 산화물 $Fe_3O_4$에 Cr을 치환하여 얻어지는 $Cr_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ 박막 시료들을 졸-겔 스핀코팅 방법을 이용하여 제작하고 그 구조적, 전자기적 특성들에 대한 측정 및 분석을 수행하였다. X선 회절 측정 결과, Cr 성분비가 증가함에 따라 격자상수가 소폭 감소하는 것이 관측되었다. 이는 Fe 이온에 비해 이온반경이 상대적으로 작은 Cr 이온이 +3의 이온수를 가지고 8면체 자리를 치환하는 것으로 설명 가능하다. 시료들에 대한 진동시료자화를 측정한 결과, Cr 성분비 증가에 따라 포화자화량이 $Fe_3O_4$에 비하여 점차적으로 감소하였는데, 이는 8면체 자리의 $Fe^{3+}(d^5)$$Cr^{3+}(d^3)$ 나타내는 스핀 자기능률 값의 비교를 통하여 설명 가능하다. 또한, 자기저항 효과도 Cr 성분비 증가에 따라 포화자화량과 유사한 추세로 감소하였다. $Cr_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ 박막 시료들의 보자력은 Cr 성분비 증가에 따라 증가함을 보였는데, 이는 $Cr^{3+}$ 이온의 8면체 자리 치환에 따른 자기 이방성의 증가에 기인하는 것으로 해석된다.

Discovery of Giant Magnetostriction in Amorphous RFe$_2$B (R = Sm, Tb) Alloys

  • Compared with the conventional magnetostriction in Ni alloys which are in the order of several tens ppm (Parts Per Million =10-6), RFe$_2$(R = rare earth element) Laves Phase intermetallic compounds show large saturation magnetostriction in the range of a few thousands ppm. However, the large external magnetic field necessary to obtain saturatio magnetostriction has due to large magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy restrained the applicationof magnetostriction materials in RFe$_2$intermetallic compounds. As a result of its solution, the largest published value of effective giant magnetostriction in a low external magnetic field (less than a few hundred Oe) is reported in this paper by means of amorphisation of RFe$_2$intermetallic compounds with the addition of boron, as a half metal. For the amorphous (SmFe$_2$)0.97 B0.03 alloys, the effective magnetostriction of -545 and -610 $\times$ 10-6 is obtained at 400 and 1,000 Ie, respectively. Moreover, the effective magnetostriction of 590 and 630$\times$10-6 in the amorphous (TbFe$_2$)0.98 B0.02 alloys is also found at 400 and 1,000 Oe, respectively. This result will provide a clue to understanding the effect of half metal on anomalous increase of the effective giant magnetostriction and attract the great attention for magnetostriction applications.

고정자 절연파괴 고장에 의한 매입형 영구자석 BLDC 모터의 불가역 감자에 대한 동적해석 알고리즘 (Dynamic Analysis Algorithm of Irreversible Demagnetization of IPM-type Brushless DC Motor by Stator Turn Fault)

  • This paper studies the dynamic irreversible demagnetization characteristics of an interior permanent magnet (PM) brushless DC motor with a stator turn fault. A new algorithm, which is a finite element method (FEM) combined with a line voltage equation of the motor, is developed to analyze irreversible demagnetization under dynamic and transient states and considers a stator turn fault. The input current, circulating current, magnetic distribution characteristics, and operating property of the PM, including the irreversible demagnetization in the fault state, are analyzed using this algorithm by considering the magnetic saturation effect. The feasibility of the proposed method confirmed from the analysis results is verified via an experiment. Through this fault analysis, we can accurately check the fault phenomena of a PM motor against the demagnetization fault for fault prevention.

Effects of Sulfur Segregation on Tertiary Recrystallization Kinetics in Thin-gauged 3% Si-Fe Electrical Strip

  • Effect of sulfur segregation on tertiary recrystallization and magnetic induction during final annealing was investigated in a 3% Si-Fe electrical strip containing 6 ppm(LS) and 15 ppm(HS) sulfur. During final annealing, Auger peak height of segregated sulfur on the surface of the strips reached a maximum, and then decreased to low level with increasing annealing time, which is attributed to sulfur segregation and evaporation. The magnetic induction of the thin-gauged 3% Si strip was inversely proportional to the Auger peak height of segregated sulfur on the surface. The overall profile for surface segregation of sulfur and B10 was observed, irrespective of sulfur content in Si-Fe strips, but the peaks of LS strips appeared earlier than those of HS strips. The grain growth rate of the LS strips during final annealing was faster than that of the HS strips, which may be attributed to the pinning effects of segregated sulfur. With increasing final annealing temperature, B10 value increased rapidly and the saturation level in B10 increased.

AAO를 이용한 Ni 나노구조체의 자기적 특징 (Magnetic Properties of Ni Nanostructures Made by using Nanoporous Anodic Alumina)

  • 나노크기의 기공을 갖는 AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide)를 이용하여 Si 기판 위에 열 증착 방식으로 Ni 나노구조체를 제작하였다. 제작된 나노구조체는 직경과 높이가 80nm정도로 거의 비슷한 원기둥 형태를 보였다. Ni 나노구조체의 자기적 특성은 광자기효과(Magneto-Optic Kerr effect)를 이용하여 측정하였고, 함께 성장시킨 박막(continuous film)과 비교하였다. 종횡비(aspect ratio)가 1 : 1 정도인 나노구조체의 자화용이축은 평면방향으로 자화용이축을 보이는 박막과는 달리 수직자기이방성을 보여주었으며, 수직 및 수평방향으로 자기장을 가하면서 얻은 자기이력곡선(hysteresis loop)으로부터 나노구조체의 포화자기장(saturation field)과 보자력(coercivity)이 박막과는 많은 차이를 보였다. 박막에서 거의 무시할 만한 값을 갖는 수직방향의 자기이력곡선에서 측정된 잔류자화(remanent magnetization) 나노구조체에서는 0.3으로 크게 증가했다.

Effects of Sputtering Parameters on the Properties of Co/Pd Multilayered Films

  • Multilayered films of Co/Pd have been studied as a candidate material for a high density perpendicular recording medium due to higher anisotropy energy. However, high exchange coupling among grains results in large transition noise. To reduce the exchange coupling and grain size, addition of 3rd elements and physical separation of grains have been attempted. In the present paper, effects of sputtering pressure, Co sublayer thickness and Pd underlayer thickness on magnetic properties and microstructures were studied. It was found that by increasing sputtering pressure from 5 mTorr to 25 mTorr, Ms decreased to one half and coercivity increased more than 5000 Oe. The increase of the coercivity is associated with physical separation of grains by high pressure sputtering. Ms per volume of Co for Co/Pd multilayered film deposited at 25 mTorr shows continuous decrease with increasing Co sublayer thickness. This was related to void formation and intermixing of Co/Pd interface. Also, effect of Pd underlayer thickness on magnetic properties will be discussed.

회전자 돌극 설계를 이용한 다극 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 토크리플 저감 연구 (Study of the Reduction of Torque Ripples for Multi-pole Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors using Rotor Saliency)

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 견인전동기로서의 다극 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 회전자 돌극 설계에 의한 토크리플 개선 방안을 연구하였다. 다극 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 경우 영구자석에서 발생되는 자속이 고정자에 쇄교되지 않고 회전자 브릿지를 통해 누설되는 자속이 크다. 이러한 누설자속을 줄여 출력밀도를 향상시키고 토크리플을 저감하기 위해 영구자석 사이의 회전자 표면에 슬릿을 적용하였다. 슬릿에 적용되는 두 설계 파라미터를 제안하고 반응표면법을 이용하여 토크리플 감소와 출력 향상 최대화 설계를 수행하였다. 자속의 포화를 고려하기 위해 본 논문에서는 2차원 유한요소법을 이용하여 특성해석을 수행하고 이를 분석하였다.

Influence Factor on Magnetization Property of Carbonyl Iron-based Magnetorheological Fluids

  • Magnetization property is a critical factor for magnetorheological fluids (MRFs) to achieve the liquid-solid transition. The main focus of this study is on exploring the influence factors on magnetization properties of MRFs. In this paper, a theoretical analysis is performed to discuss the magnetization characteristics of MRFs firstly. Then, a method for the preparation of carbonyl iron-based MRFs is illustrated and five MRFs samples with various material parameters are prepared. It is succeeded by a series of experiments on testing the hysteresis loop and the magnetization curve of each sample and the influence factors are compared and analyzed. Experimental results indicate that there is basically no hysteresis phenomenon on MRFs which exhibits superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature. A surfactant coating on magnetic particles can slightly improve the MRFs magnetization. Additionally, the magnetic susceptibility and the saturation magnetization both increase with the particle concentration, whereas the influence of particle diameter is relatively very small. Moreover, as the temperature increases, the magnetization decreases and the declining rate accelerates gradually.
