Organizartion of Measurin System of Circular Motion Accuracy of Machining Center (머시닝센터의 원운동정도 측정시스템의 구성)

  • In recent years, it has been variously developed for testing the accuracy of circular motion of NC machine tools, for example Telescoping Ball Bar Method by Bryan,Circular Test Method by Knapp and r $_{- \theta}$ Mathod by Tsutsumi etc., but it is not yet settled in the code of measuring methods of motion errors of NC machine tools, because of errors of measuring units and sensors, and also especially the difficulties of centering of measuring units. In this paper, in use of magnetic type linear scale with resolution of 0.5 .mu. m and tick pulses come out from computer, it has become possible for detecting of linear displacement of radial errors and measuring of revolution angle of circular motion of NC machine tools.

  • Recently, a demand for precision 5-axis machine tools is significantly increasing, and the maintenance of machine tool accuracy becomes more important. it is very difficult to evaluate to accuracy of 5-axis M/C in the production site since it needs expensive measuring equipment and skilled engineer. On the other hand, evaluation items of 5-axis M/C are not systematically organized in the existing KS and ISO standards. In this study, the evaluation items for 5-axis M/C were derived systematically and a test workpiece was developed to evaluate the machine tool accuracy more easily. The error sources of machine tool can be estimated by machining and measuring of the test workpiece. The correlation between the machine tool accuracy and the accuracy of machined test workpiece was analyzed. As a result, the accuracy of machined test workpiece represented the accuracy of machine tool and the error sources very effectively.

  • This paper presents an useful technique for assessing the volumetric errors in multi-axis machine tools using the kinematic double ball bar. This system has been developed based on the volumetric error map which describes the 3 dimensional errors of machine tools. The developed system inputs the measured radial data of 3 different planes, respectively XY,YZ,ZX, analysing the volumetric errors such as positional. straightness, angle, and squareness errors, etc. The developed system has been tested in a practical machine tool, and showed high potential for the error assessment of multi-axis machine tools.

  • In accordance with the trend for high-speed multi-axes, and the increasing technical sophistication of machine tools, thermal deformation has become an important factor in the accuracy of machine tools. It was analyzed that thermal deformation error accounts for about 70% of all errors made with machine tools. For precise temperature control, both cooling and heating should be implemented. A hot gas bypass type cooling cycle method has a simplified structure and temperature control accuracy to with in ${\pm}0.1^{\circ}C$. In this study, the performances of oil cooler system, including temperature controllability according to hot gas floe and preset temperature sustainability according to temperature load, were tested. It is expected that this study will contribute to the development and performances of oil cooler system, which could minimize thermal errors and improve the quality of precision machine tools.

  • Several evaluation methods of conventional machine tools have been proposed by KS and ISO. Even though the accuracy of the tools can be evaluated with those methods, there are still no proper evaluation method of high sped machining. Because it is hard to evaluate characteristics of high speed machining such as decrease of cutting temperature, cutting force, and reduced machining time. Therefore, new evaluation method for high speed machine should be developed. In this paper, several shape of model have been proposed to evaluate cutting accuracy of high speed machine.

  • The performance of machine tools is qualified by many test procedures given by the national/international standards or respected organisations. Among them, test regarding circular-interpolation accuracy is getting to be one of the important acceptance tests at the production level. Machine tool systems are composed of many mechanical and electronical sub-systems so that it is not easy to improve dynamic performance by examining only one particular part. Instead, overall systematic approach encompassing all the contributing elements is necessary to achieve good results. In this study, measures taken in circular accuracy improvements will be explained case by case.

  • Linear pulse Motors(LPM) are widely used in fields where smooth linear motion is required, and their position accuracy is higher than other motors. Hybrid linear pulse motors(HLPM) are regarded as an excellent solution to positioning problems that require high accuracy, rapid acceleration and high-speed. The LPM has low mechanical complexity, high reliability, precise open-loop operation and low inertia etc. in many application areas such as factory automation speed positioning, computer peripherals and numerically controlled machine tools. This motor drive system is especially suitable for machine tools the high position accuracy and repeatability. This paper describes about that need of the embroider machine, we want to design position-scanning device for the embroidery machine. At first, to be analysed characteristics of the machine and next designed the LPM. we used the field analysis program, The finite element method(FEM) program tool is employed for calculation the force. The reluctance models will be used the magnetic permeance of air gap by static- conditions. The forces between forcer and platen have been calculated using the virtual work method.

  • Recently, the needs of system performances such as working speed and processing accuracy in machine tools have been increased. Especially, the working speed increment generates harmful heat at both moving part of the machine tools and handicrafts. The heat is a main drawback to progress accuracy of the processing. Hence, a oil cooler to control temperature is inevitable for the machine tools. In general, two representative control schemes, hot-gas bypass and variable speed control of a compressor, have been adopted in the oil cooler system. This paper deals with design and implementation method of fuzzy controller for obtaining precise temperature characteristic of HB oil cooler system in machine tools. The opening angle of an electronic expansion valve are controlled to keep reference value and room temperature of temperature at oil outlet. Especially, the fuzzy controller is added to suppress temperature fluctuation under abrupt disturbances. Through some experiments, the suggested method can control the target temperature within steady state error of ${\pm}0.22^{\circ}C$.
