  • In this paper, a new testable design technique for domino CMOS circuits is proposed to detect stuck-at(s-at), stuck-open(s-op) and stuck-on(s-on) faults in the circuits by observing logic test reponses. The proposed technique adds one pMOS transistor per domino CMOS gate for s-op and s-on faults testing of nMOS transistors and one nMOS transistors and one nMOS transistor per domino gate or multilevel circuit to detect s-on faults in pMOS transistors of inverters in the circuit. The extra transistors enable the proposed testable circuit to operate like a pseudo static nMOS circuit while testing nMOS transistors in domino CMOS circuits. Therefore, the two=phase operation of a precharge phase and a evaluation phase is not needed to keep the domino CMOS circuit from malfunctionong due to circuit delays in the test mode, which reduces the testing time and the complexity of test generation. Most faults of th transistors in the proposed testable domino CMOS circuit can be detected by single test patterns. The use of single test patterns makes the testing of the proposed testable domino CMOS circuit free from path delays, timing skews, chage sharing and glitches. In the proposed design, the testing of the faults which, require test sequences also becomes free from test invalidation. The conventional automatic test pattern generators(ATPG) can be used for generating test patterns to detect faults in the circuits.

  • In order to analyze the blooming suppression mechanism of a MOS image sensor, test photodiodes have been fabricated and characterized by attaching a source follower circuit. The blooming suppression ability of npn structure compared to that of np structure is quantitatively analyzed and measured by experiment. The dependency of the blooming current on the substrate voltage, the vertical MOS gate voltage and the video voltage is measured and the optimum condition for blooming suppression is presented.

  • The effects of oligosaccharide supplementation on the growth performance, flock uniformity and GIT development of broiler chickens were investigated. Four diets, one negative control, one positive control supplemented with zinc-bacitracin, and two test diets supplemented with mannoligosaccharide (MOS) and fructooligosaccharide (FOS), were used for the experiment. Birds given MOS or FOS had improved body weight (BW) and feed efficiency (FCR), compared to those fed the negative control diet during the 35-d trial period. The effect on FCR became less apparent when the birds got older. FOS and MOS supplementation reduced the pancreas weight as a percentage of BW, with an effect similar to that of the antibiotic, at 35 d of age. Birds given MOS tended to have a heavier bursa (p = 0.164) and lower spleen/bursa weight ratio (p = 0.102) at 35 d of age. MOS and Zn-bacitracin showed a clear improvement on flock uniformity, compared to FOS. The mortality rate was not affected by FOS or MOS.

  • The PESQ is an objective speech quality evaluation measure that is known to have a high correlation with a subjective speech quality measure such as MOS. To examine whether it could be useful as an objective quality measure of synthetic speech, we carried out both subjective evaluation tests with MOS and DMOS and an objective evaluation test with PESQ for HMM-based Korean synthetic speech signals and analyzed the correlation between them. Experimental results have shown that the PESQ has correlations of 0.87 with MOS and 0.92 with DMOS. It means that the PESQ holds much promise for evaluating the quality of synthetic Korean speech.

  • In this paper the feasibility of wind power forecasting from MOS(Model Output Statistics) was evaluated at Gosan area in Jeju during February to Octoberin 2008. The observed wind data from wind turbine was compared with 24 hours and 48 hours forecasting wind data from MOS predicting. Coefficient of determination of measured wind speed from wind turbine and 24 hours forecasting from MOS was around 0.53 and 48 hours was around 0.30. These determination factors were increased to 0.65 from 0.53 and 0.35 from 0.30, respectively, when it comes to the prevailing wind direction($300^{\circ}\sim60^{\circ}$). Wind power forecasting ratio in 24 hours of MOS showed a value of 0.81 within 70% confidence interval and it also showed 0.65 in 80% confidence interval. It is suggested that the additional study of weather conditions be carried out when large error happened in MOS forecasting.

  • We fabricate and evaluate the metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) transistor probe with the focused-ionbeam (FIB) for surface electric properties. The probes are designed with the rectangular and V-shaped structures, and their dimensions are determined considering the contact mode operation. The conductive nano tip is grown with FIB system, and deposition condition is controlled for the sharp tip. The fabricated device is applied to the various test patterns like the metal lines and PZT poling regions, and the results show the well defined measurement patterns.

  • A measurement technique of the surface generation velocity S$_o$ using the BC(buried channel) MOS structure with shallow and low doped channel layer (BC MOS S$_o$ measurement technique) is presented and verified analytically and experimentally. Using this measurement technique, S$_o$ can be measured more accurately than that measured using the gate-controlled diode SS1oT measurement technique. When S$_o$ is measured for the two techniques from a BC MOS structure test patten with gate length of 171$\mu$m, the results are 0,66cm/sec and 0.28cm/sec for the former and the latter respectively.

  • As the use of MP3 audio compression increased, the demand for the insertion of additive data about copyright or information on music contents has been groved and the related research has been progressed actively. When an additive data is inserted into MP3 bitstream, it should not to happen any distortion of music quality or the change of file size, due to the modification of MP3 bitstream structure. In our study, to make these conditions satisfied, we inserted some additive data to bitstream by modifying some bits of linbits among the quantized integer coefficients having big values. At this time, we consider the characteristics of linbits and their distributions. As a result of subjective sound quality test through MOS test, we confirmed that the quality of MOS 4.6 can be achieved at the data insertion rate of 60 bytes/sec. Using the proposed method, it is possible to effectively insert an additive data such as copyright information or information about media itself, so that various applications like audio database management can be realized.

  • Pseudomonas diminuta (ATCC 19146) has been typically used in the bacterial challenge test for validation of the sterilizing filtration process. Cell size is critical for determining the retention characteristics of membrane filters with pore-size of $0.2{\mu}m$. The changes of cell sizes after osmotic shocks at 150, 260, 500, and 700 mosM were measured by a particle size analyzer and the changes of their buoyant densities were analyzed with a Percoll gradient. The results indicated that there were no significant differences when cells were cultured in 260 mosM medium and osmotically shocked at 500 and 700 mosM. However, the osmotically shocked cells at 150 mosM showed a 38% increase of the cell size compared to the cells at 260 mosM. From these study, we concluded that the worst case condition for validation of a sterilizing filter would be 500 mosM, not because of changes in the cell size, but due to decrease in cell viability under those conditions.

  • A new circuit simulator for submicron MOS desings was developed by enhancing SPICE3. The minimum conductance stepping, source stepping and pseudo transient methods are applied to improve the convergence. and SECSPICE uses the variation rate of the node volgage in the timestep algorithm. The modified BSIM model was implemented in SECSPICE for submicron MOS designs. And it gives the powerful user environments such as graphic user environments. As the results of test using real measured device data and circuits used in real production desing, we found it gave more accurage results than BSIM and the execution speed was 1.5~2.8 times faster than SPICE3.
