Quality of Service(QoS) in the telecommunications can be evaluated by analyzing the opinion data which result from the surveyed opinions of respondents and quantify subjective satisfaction on the QoS from the customers' viewpoints. For analyzing the opinion data, MOS(mean opinion score) method and Cumulative Probability Curve method are often used. The methods are based on the scoring method, and therefore, have the intrinsic deficiency due to the assignment of arbitrary scores. In this paper, we propose an analysis method of the opinion data using logit models which can be used to analyze the ordinal categorical data without assigning arbitrary scores to customers' opinion, and develop an analysis procedure considering the usage of procedures provided by SAS(Statistical Analysis System) statistical package. By the proposed method, we can estimate the relationship between customer satisfaction and network performance parameters, and provide guidelines for network planning. In addition, the proposed method is compared with Cumulative Probability Curve method with respect to prediction errors.
Quality of Service(QoS) is the collective effect of service performances and has a direct impact on customer satisfaction. Although QoS is subjective, network performance parameters contributing to QoS can be measured physically. Therefore overall customer satisfaction for each test condition of the performance parameters is evaluated by asking respondents to indicate his or her opinion on a five-category rating scale i.e., excellent, good, fair, poor, and unsatisfactory. The opinion data resulting from the test can then be used to measure and analyze QoS from the customers' viewpoints. In this papaer, we consider two methods for analyzing the opinion data: MOS method and Cumulative Probability Curve method. The former evaluates an arithmetic mean of the opinion scores which quantify the surveyed opinions of respondents. The latter uses graphical and analytical models which are based on the distribution of the opinions rather than an arithmetic mean. The advantages, disadvantages, and an alternative of each method are discussed, together with future directions of research.
This paper analyses the effect of social atmosphere on fashion model image with a study on two Periods, 1960s and 1990s. To be specific, we focus on two fashion models, Twiggy and Kate Moss who were famous in the late 60s and the early 90s respectively. We also study the works of Mary Quant and Calvin Klein in order to understand Twigg9y '||'&'||' Moss syndromes. Thee "waif" image which is usually associated with those uncared, homeless, pitiful, and immature is commonly found in Twiggy and Moss. It is argued that this dramatic change of image, that is, from a confident, mature one to the opposite, is strongly influenced by economic recession and a concomitant increase of social tension and pessimistic and decadent attitude.e.

The STC(Sinusoidal Transform Coding) is a vocoding technique that uses a sinusoidal speech model to obtain high- quality speech at low data rate. It models and synthesizes the speech signal with fundamental frequency and its harmonic elements in frequency domain. To reduce the data rate, it is necessary to represent the sinusoidal amplitudes and phases with as small number of peaks as possible while maintaining the speech quality. As a basic research to develop a low-rate speech coding algorithm using the sinusoidal model, in this paper, we investigate the speech quality depending on the number of sinusoids. By varying the number of spectral peaks from 5 to 40 speech signals are reconstructed, and then their qualities are evaluated using spectral envelope distortion measure and MOS(Mean Opinion Score). Two approaches are used to obtain the spectral peaks: one is a conventional STFT (Short-Time Fourier Transform), and the other is a multiresolutional analysis method.
In this paper, we consider resistive shorts on gate-source, gate-drain, and drain-source as well as opens in MOS FETs included in typical memory cell of VLSI SRAM and analyze behavior of memory by using PSPICE simulation. Using conventional fault models and this behavioral analysis, we propose linear testing algorithm of complexity O(N) which can be applied to both functional testing and IDDQ (quiescent power supply current) testing simultaneously to improve functionality and reliability of memory. Finally, we implement BIST (built-in self tsst) circuit and BICS(built-in current sensor), which are embedded on memory chip, to carry out functional testing efficiently and to detect various defects at high-speed respectively.
In this paper, we propose data format for smell, taste, touch with speech and vision which can be transmitted and implement a floral scent detection and recognition system. We provide representation method of data of smell, taste, and touch. Also, proposed floral scent recognition system consists of three module such as floral scent acquisition module using Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) sensor array, entropy-based floral scent detection module, and floral scent recognition module using correlation coefficients. The proposed system calculates correlation coefficients of the individual sensor between feature vector(16 sensors) from floral scent input point until the stable region and 12 types of reference models. Then, this system selects the floral scent with the maximum similarity to the calculated average of individual correlation coefficients. To evaluate the floral scent recognition system using correlation coefficients, we implemented an individual floral scent recognition system using K-NN with PCA and LDA that are generally used in conventional electronic noses. In the experimental results, the proposed system performs approximately 95.7% average recognition rate.
We present a photometric and spectroscopic study of the globular clusters (GCs) in the giant elliptical galaxy NGC 4636 in the Virgo cluster. The photometry of the GCs is based on HST/WFPC2 images for the inner region and deep, wide field Washington $CT_1$ CCD images for the outer region. We investigated the color distribution, the radial number density profile, the spatial distribution, and the mean color of the bright blue GCs about the GCs in NGC 4636. We obtained spectra of the GC candidates in NGC 4636 using the Multi-Object Spectroscopy (MOS) mode of Faint Object Camera and Spectrograph (FOCAS) on the SUBARU 8.2m Telescope. We measured the velocities for 105 GCs in NGC 4636. Using the 238 GCs obtained from combining our results with data in the literature, we investigated the kinematics of the GC system of NGC 4636: the rotation, the velocity dispersion, the radial variation, and the orbit. We also investigated the distribution and the radial variation of the metallicities, ages, and alpha-elements of the GCs in NGC 4636 derived using the absorption lines. We compared the GC kinematics of NGC 4636 with those of other six gEs, finding that the kinematic properties of the GCs are diverse among gEs. We found several correlations between the kinematics of the GCs and the global parameters of their host galaxies. Finally we discuss the implication of the results for the formation models of the GC system in gEs, and suggest a mixture scenario for the origin of the GCs in gEs.
For the channel doping of shallow junction and retrograde well formation in CMOS, indium can be implanted in silicon. The retrograde doping profiles can serve the needs of channel engineering in deep MOS devices for punch-through suppression and threshold voltage control. Indium is heavier element than B, $BF_2$ and Ga ions. It also has low coefficient of diffusion at high temperatures. Indium ions can be cause the erode of wafer surface during the implantation process due to sputtering. For the ultra shallow junction, indium ions can be implanted for p-doping in silicon. UT-MARLOWE and SRIM as Monte carlo ion-implant models have been developed for indium implantation into single crystal and amorphous silicon, respectively. An analytical tool was used to carry out for the annealing process from the extracted simulation data. For the 1D (one-dimensional) and 2D (two-dimensional) diffused profiles, the analytical model is also developed a simulation program with $C^{{+}{+}}$ code. It is very useful to simulate the indium profiles in implanted and annealed silicon autonomously. The fundamental ion-solid interactions and sputtering effects of ion implantation are discussed and explained using SRIM and T-dyn programs. The exact control of indium doping profiles can be suggested as a future technology for the extreme shallow junction in the fabrication process of integrated circuits.
