Enhanced Cross-Layering Mobile IPv6 Fast Handover over IEEE 802.16e Networks in Mobile Cloud Computing Environment (모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서 IEEE 802.16e 네트워크에서의 향상된 교차계층 Mobile IPv6 빠른 핸드오버 기법)

  • The main issue in mobile cloud computing is how to support a seamless service to a mobile mode. Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is a mobility supporting protocol which is standardized by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Mobile IPv6 fast handovers (FMIPv6) is the extension of MIPv6 which is proposed to overcome shortcomings of MIPv6. Recently, fast handovers for Mobile IPv6 over IEEE 802.16e which is one of broadband wireless access systems has been proposed by the IETF. It was designed for supporting cross-layer fast handover. In this paper, we propose an enhanced cross-layering mobile IPv6 fast handover over IEEE 802.16e networks. In our scheme, a new access router generates a new address for the mobile node by using a layer 2 trigger. We utilize a layer 2 message which is sent from a new base station to the new access router in order to inform the new access router of information of the mobile node. A previous access router sends a binding update message to the mobile node's home agent when it acquires the new address of the mobile node. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme compared with the existing schemes in terms of the signaling cost and the handover latency. From the results, we observe that the proposed scheme can support fast handover effectively over IEEE 802.16e networks than existing schemes.

  • In recent years, mobile phone market is saturated in number of user term. Associated service providers struggle to provide various mobile services such as Internet, e-commerce, game, music etc. to increase ARPU (average revenue per user) instead. In this study we explore the factors which affect price tabs of mobile communication. As a conceptual foundation, this study introduces user factors-users' propensity to use mobile phones-as independent variables and mobile service functions as mediating variables. The research model was phones-as independent variables and mobile service functions as mediating variables. The research model was tested with data from Web-based survey of 1,500 mobile users and analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM). Our results suggest that user factors impact the usage of mobile service functions and mobile service functions for information and convenience are positively related to price tabs of mobile communication. Implications for mobile service providers and policy makers are discussed.

A Proxy Mobile IP based Fast Layer-3 Handover scheme for Mobile WiMAX based Wireless Mesh Networks (Mobile WiMAX 기반의 무선 메쉬 네트워크를 위한 Proxy Mobile IP 기반의 고속 3계층 핸드오버 방안)

  • Wireless mesh networks have been widely studied as the next generation technology to solve the problems of conventional wireless networks. Particularly, Mobile WiMAX based wireless mesh networks are noticed due to many advantages. Mobile WiMAX standard provides two kinds of layer-3 handover schemes: Mobile IP and Proxy Mobile IP based handover schemes. MIP based handover scheme has a problem in that it incurs the long handover latency because mobile nodes generate a lot of handover messages. On the other hand, PMIP based handover scheme decreases the handover latency by reducing the number of handover messages, because mobile nodes do not participate in handover procedure. Therefore, layer-3 handover for Mobile WiMAX should be designed based on PMIP. However, conventional PMIP based handover still has latency overhead, because of many message exchanges between PBU and PBA after completing the layer-2 handover. Hence, in this paper, we propose a fast layer-3 handover scheme that achieves the lower handover latency for Mobile WiMAX based wireless mesh networks. Proposed scheme has advantages in terms of handover latency. Simulation results show that proposed scheme achieves low handover latency during the layer-3 handover.

  • This study aims to empirically investigate how personalized and socialized mobile media impacts on users' acceptance of mobile advertising, given the consideration of users' mobile possession attachment. For this, the current study used focus group interview and surveyed mobile users. Interestingly, the findings reveal that personalized and socialized mobile characteristicssignificantly affect users' acceptance of mobile ads. That is to say, users' personalized mobile characteristics play an important role in either awareness of mobile ads or exposure to mobile ads.

  • The use of mobile devices offers a variety of services to the individuals and companies. On the other hand, security threats and new mobile security threats that exist in IT infrastructure to build the environment for mobile services are present at the same time. Services such as mobile and vaccine management services, such as MDM (Mobile Device Management) has attracted a great deal of interest in order to minimize the threat of security in mobile environment. These solutions can not protect an application that was developed for the mobile service from the threat of vulnerability of mobile application itself. Under these circumstances, in this paper, we proposed mobile application security checklists based on application security review items in order to prevent security accidents that can occur in a mobile service environment. We collected and analyzed Android applications, we performed a total inspection of the applications for verification of the effectiveness of the check items. And we checked that the check items through a survey of experts suitability was verified.

  • Owing to the development of wireless infrastructure and mobile communication technology, There is growing interest in smart phone using it. The resulting popularity of smart phone has increased the Mobile Malicious AP-related security threat and the access to the wireless AP(Access Point) using Wi-Fi. mobile AP mechanism is the use of a mobile device with Internet access such as 3G cellular service to serve as an Internet gateway or access point for other devices. Within the enterprise, the use of mobile AP mechanism made corporate information management difficult owing to use wireless system that is impossible to wire packet monitoring. In this thesis, we propose mobile AP mechanism-based mobile malicious AP detection and prevention mechanism in radius authentication server network. Detection approach detects mobile AP mechanism-based mobile malicious AP by sniffing the beacon frame and analyzing the difference between an authorized AP and a mobile AP mechanism-based mobile malicious AP detection.

An experimental qualitative study on the characteristics of fashion brand's mobile SNS - Focusing on mobile Facebook - (패션 브랜드 모바일 SNS의 특성에 관한 실험적인 질적 연구 - 모바일 페이스북(Facebook)을 중심으로 -)

  • This study was an experimental qualitative study on the characteristics of fashion brand's mobile SNS. The study was focused on mobile Facebook and identified the characteristics of fashion brand's mobile SNS. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 people in the 20s, who have used fashion brand's mobile Facebook application and currently live in Seoul or Gyeonggi province. After analysis of the in-depth interview data, four characteristics of fashion brand's mobile SNS were identified as follows. First, it was possible to access fashion brand's mobile SNS at any time anywhere, if users needed brand-related information. In this study, this characteristic was named 'fashion accessibility'. Second, it was possible to access update-information using fashion brand's mobile SNS or get up-to-date information about the brand in real-time. In this study, this characteristic was named 'fashion recentness'. Third, it was possible to store or capture fashion brand-related images and texts. In this study, this characteristic was named 'ease of storage of fashion data'. Fourth, fashion brand's mobile SNS was useful in various ways to fashion consumers, so this characteristic was named 'fashion usefulness' in this study. The study extracted 10 sub-characteristics of the characteristics of fashion brand's mobile SNS based on the results of a qualitative study. This study has significant value which suggests directions for future research. Also, this paper is expected to provide managerial implications to fashion companies that need to develop mobile SNS marketing strategies.
