  • This study addresses a photogrammetric approach to generate Mars topographic products from mapping data of Mars Global Surveyor (MGS). High-resolution stereo images and laser altimetry data collected from the MGS mission are combined and processed to produce Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and orthoimages. First, altimeter data is registered to high resolution images and considerable registration offset (around 325 m) is discovered on high resolution stereo images. Altimetry data, exterior orientation elements of the camera and conjugate points are used for bundle adjustment to solve this mis-registration and detennine the ground coordinates. The mis-registration of altimetry data are effectively eliminated after the bundle adjustment. Using the adjusted exterior orientation the ground coordinates of conjugate points are detennined. A sufficient number of corresponding points collected through image matching and their precise 3-D ground coordinates are used to generate DEM and orthoimages. A posteriori standard deviations of ground points after bundle adjustment indicate the accuracy of OEM generated in this study. This paper addresses the photogrammetric procedure: the registration of altimetry data to stereo pair images, the bundle adjustment and the evaluation, and the generation of OEM and orthoimages.

  • Management is under constant pressures to achieve competitiveness in production in most manufacturing companies. The adoption of management techniques(MT) such as TQM, MRP, ERP and so on has been a logical response for better performance to many companies. Besides, these companies commonly adopt a number of such techniques with high expectation for performance improvement. However, expected improvement in performance is not guaranteed unless necessary ingredients exist for those techniques. Many research studies have focused on the nature of successful adoption of management techniques in the past. However, most studies have been related to a single technique and its effects. When more than one techniques are in use in a company, focusing on a single technique limits the value of analysis. This paper focuses the value of MTs adopted in a company in multiplicity and compares the relative characteristics of MTs one another. Especially, the purpose of this paper is to examine the comparative nature of MTs adopted In manufacturing companies and the elements of MT success in relationship with information systems and organizational adjustment for adoption of MTs. The result of the analysis shows that the more efforts are exhorted for the adjustment of information systems and organizational structures to accommodate the MTs, the more success from the adopted techniques results. However, the extent of adjustment for different management techniques differs one another due to the nature of each technique. With regard to the comparative impact of adjustment of information systems and that of organizational structures, the result shows that the latter has more direct and greater impact than the former.

  • In this paper an algorithm of image alignments for constructing seamless mosaics is proposed. After the global alignment has been run, there may still be localized mis-registrations present in the mosaic. Due to mis-registrations, there may be seams in the mosaic, such as breaking, blurring, and doubling of lines. To solve this problem, we need an algorithm of residual motion estimation, which minimizes mis-registrations. In the conventional algorithms of residual motion estimation, computational powers are too heavy and estimators of camera parameters are additionally needed such as focal lengths. In the proposed algorithm, residual motion vectors are estimated with the adequate size of estimation and measurement windows and with adjustment of initial vectors according to the established priority. By construction of mosaics with the proposed algorithm, we demonstrate the removal of seams by mis-registrations.

  • Making decisions on prices must be an important task for sellers to stay competitive in on-line markets. Because the emergence of price-comparison web sites led buyers to be more sensitive to the prices, adjusting prices became very important to on-line sellers. This study collected and analyzed the data of prices on computing peripheral devices posted at a popular web site that enabled buyers to compare the prices on the same products. By analyzing the timings of price adjustments among different sellers using Monte Carlo simulation, we explored the possibility of price coordinations among those sellers. The results indicated that online sellers adjusted their prices on a daily basis rather than a weekly basis and the tacit coordination on the price changes was identified.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between organizational characteristics and information systems characteristics or job satisfaction, attempts to examine the regulatory effects brought about by the adjustment of social capital theory. So far, The results of this study are based on the analysis of individual models from the perspectives of each functional organization such as HR, organization, finance, operation, and MIS. Therefore, this paper attempted a comprehensive analysis of factors affecting job satisfaction and firm performance by presenting an integrated research model of organizational perspectives in addition to the approach of MIS perspective. The characteristics of information system were promptness, CEO support, and compensation. And the organizational characteristics were multiple regression analysis using innovation, trust, and preferential factors. The analysis data is based on sixth data from the HCCP of Korea Productivity Center. According to the analysis results, all the variables had a significant influence on satisfaction, especially CEO support and trust. The analysis of the moderating effect between innovation and job satisfaction was moderated by vision sharing. Only the logistic regression analysis of the satisfaction with the average salary of the members among the demographic variables was statistically significant. Therefore, this study can be concluded that the overall satisfaction level will be improved by recognizing appropriate compensation as sufficient compensation.

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of an improved adaptive algorithm proposed by the authors recently. It is based on the normalized least mean square (NLMS) algorithm, which Is one of the major techniques to adapt the cofficients of a transversal filter. Generally, the performance of an adaptive algorithm is often discussed by investigating the mis-adjustment. In this paper, unlike these approaches, a novel analytical method is considered. letting the parameters so that the residual mean square error (MSE) after the convergence of the algorithm is equal to that of the NLMS algorithm, the MSE level is compared. It is shown that the theoretical analysis is agreed with the simulation results.

  • Purpose: To emphasize the necessity of post-fitting by follow-up test, the mis-alignment was analyzed after initial wearing of toric soft contact lenses (TSCL). Methods: After trial contact lenses were worn to 87 eyes with myopic astigmatism for 1 week, we observed the alignment of axis mark on trial contact lenses using slit lamp and corrected the rotated axis by method of LARS. After final fitting, rotation ratio, rotation degree and rotation position were analyzed compared to initial prescription divided to amount of cylinderical and spherical powers. Results: Rotation ratio of TSCL's axis was increased as increment of both cylinderical powers and (-)spherical powers. An average of rotation degree was $10^{\circ}{\sim}13^{\circ}$ which was not related to amount of their powers. Rotation position of TSCL's axis was more to temporal than to nasal. Conclusions: Because mis-alignment of axis after TSCL wearing induce the poor sight, adjustment of axial alignment as a result of follow-up must be performed.

  • Purpose: The present has analyzed the correlation between the direction of lens and the amount of rotation upon soft toric contact lens fitting after classifying the corneal astigmatism. Methods: Soft toric contact lens was fitted on 114 with-the-rule astigmatic eyes with total astigmatism of at least -0.75 D in their 20s and 30s according to the fitting guideline of the manufacturer and the correlation between the astigmatic degree and the rotational direction/amount of rotation was analyzed by when keeping the eyes on the front and by changing the direction of gaze. As for re-orientation movement. The speed of lens re-orientation and total amount of lens rotation was compared and analyzed by corneal astigmatism after mis-location of lens of $45^{\circ}$ to temporal and nasal direction, respectively. Results: The positive correlations were shown between corneal astigmatism and the direction of lens rotation and between corneal astigmatism and the amount of lens rotation. Meanwhile, the amount of lens rotation was different by the direction of gaze however, there was no correlation with corneal astigmatism. The speed of lens re-orientation was fastest in the group of high astigmatic degree when the lens was mis-located to both temporal and nasal directions. Conclusions: For optimal axis stabilization of toric soft lens, it is proposed that the adjustment of fitting guideline considering corneal astigmatism is necessary since the current fitting guideline is only based on total astigmatism.

  • The objective of this research is to empirically analyze the impact of contents update or patch service in online game, being provided after delivery to correct faults and to improve performance of the game. Regression analysis is applied to the data set, where the weekly increase rate of playing times is dependant variable, and the time(week) and two types of contents updates are introduced as independent variables. Statistical results show that the time(week) negatively influences the weekly increase rate of playing times. But the impact of new contents generation and contents adjustment on the weekly increase rate of playing times is not statistically significant, implying that once online game is published, contents update has no significant impact on the playing times. Implications for game designs are provided as a conclusion.

  • Background: Sleep disorders are prevalent in the general population and in medical practice. Three diagnostic classifications for sleep disorders have been developed recently: The International Classification of Sleep Disorders (ICSD), The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 4th edition (DSM-IV) and The International Classification of Diseases, 10th edition (ICD-10). Few data have yet been published regarding how the diagnostic systems are related to each other. To address these issues, we evaluated the frequency of sleep disorder diagnoses by DSM-IV and ICSD and compared the DSM-IV with the ICSD diagnoses. Method: Two interviewers assessed 284 inpatients who had been referred for sleep problems in general units of Anam Hospital, holding an unstructured clinical interview with each patient and assigning clinical diagnoses using ICSD and DSM-IV classifications. Results: The most frequent DSM-IV primary diagnoses were "insomnia related to another mental disorder (61.1% of cases)" and "delirium due to general medical condition (26.8%)". "Sleep disorder associated with neurologic disorder (38.4% of cases)" was the most frequent ICSD primary diagnosis, followed by "sleep disorder associated with mental disorder (33.1%)". In comparing the DSM-IV diagnoses with the ICSD diagnoses, sleep disorder unrelated with general medical condition or another mental disorder in DSM-IV categories corresponded with these in ICSD categories. But DSM-IV "primary insomnia" fell into two major categories of ICSD, "psychophysiologic insomni" and "inadequate sleep hygiene". Of 269 subjects, 62 diagnosed with DSM-IV sleep disorder related to general medical condition or another mental disorder disagreed with ICSD diagnoses, which were sleep disorders not associated with general medical condition or mental disorder, i. e., "inadequate sleep hygiene", "environmental sleep disorder", "adjustment sleep disorder" and "insufficient sleep disorder". Conclusion: In this study, we found not only a similar pattern between DSM-IV and ICSD diagnoses but also disagreements, which should not be overlooked by clinicians and resulted from various degrees of understanding of the pathophysiology of the sleep disorders among clinicians. Non-diagnosis or mis-diagnosis leas to inappropriate treatment, therefore the clinicians' understanding of the classification and pathophysiology of sleep disorders is important.
