The Effects of Programming Learning on the Improvement of Problem Solving Ability Using MCU (MCU를 활용한 프로그래밍 학습이 문제해결력 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • Computer programming education gives students a chance to use computers independently and actively. This plays a very positive role in acquiring higher cognitive skills such as mathematical skills and creative logical thinking. Thus the purpose of this study is to measure the degrees of students' problem-solving abilities using MCU programming kits based on the ICT Education Guide. The experiment confirms that programming classes using MCU kits have a more positive effect on the students problem-solving abilities than do those using the existing computer textbooks. The sub-constituents of problem-solving abilities - problem recognition, information gathering, analysis, diffuse thinking, decision-making, planning, execution, evaluation and feedback - also show significant statistical differences. Therefore, we can conclude that programming classes using MCU kits are very effective in advancing problem-solving abilities.

  • Microcontroller (MCU) is designed to properly utilize each module through programming by connecting various modules to Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA). General-purpose MCUs are designed for consumers to use them appropriately in their research or industry area. However, in a specific area such as networking and AI autonomous vehicles, it is necessary to design MCU suitable for the field directly. However, there is a significant barrier for most consumers to directly design an MCU. In this paper, we provide a development guideline that can easily design an MCU for education or research purpose. First, we introduce AMBA system with open IPs, and we verify that the module operates properly through AMBA and interrupt operation. Finally, the MCU system is designed as an on-chip.

Method of In-Vehicle Gateway to Reduce the Reprogramming Time (리프로그래밍 시간 단축을 위한 차량 게이트웨이 개선 방안)

  • This paper proposes the method of an in-vehicle gateway to reduce the reprogramming time for the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). In order to reduce the reprogramming time, the gateway must prohibit transmitting messages, that are not related to reprogramming, to the destination CAN network, and no ECU should diagnose the DTC(Diagnostic Trouble Code) that indicates CAN communication error caused by prohibiting CAN messages by the gateway. Moreover, STmin, which are the minimum time between two consecutive CAN messages, should be minimized. In order to do this, this paper proposes the method that uses the link control command specified in UDS(Unified Diagnostic Services) and hardware based gateway functionality that are supported by the latest MCU(Micro Controller Unit). The proposed method is developed using TC275 based embedded system, and its results are presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 32비트 MCU RISC 프로세서를 사용하여 MPEC 오디오 복호화기를 소프트웨어의 구현하였다. 구현된 MPEC 오디오 복호화기는 MPEC-2 Layer-III (MP3)와 MPEC-2 AAC 로 구성된다. 프로그래밍 가능한 소프트웨어로 구현하여 향후 성능 개선이나 새로운 기능을 추가할 수 있는 유연성을 극대화하였다. 복호화기 구현은 구현 시간과 비용을 고려하여 직접 어셈블리를 코딩하는 대신 최적화된 C 코드를 사용하여 컴파일하는 방법을 선택하였다. 이때 발생할 수 있는 성능 저하 요소들을 줄이기 위해 추가의 최적화 과정을 수행하여 성능을 개선하는 방법을 제시하였다. 구현된 복호화기의 출력 음질은 ISO 13818-4 compliance test 결과 Full compliance 를 만족하였다. 또한 연산량 최적화 결과 MP3 와 AAC 테스트 비트열에 대해 모두 35 MHz 이하의 동작 주파수로 동작이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • It is a key role in leading and activating coding education as a process to solve problems creatively to produce and provide the educational contents on the basis of 3D printing. In this paper, we develop a variety of fusion contents to use 3D printing and 8bit MCU base control board which provides specific functions through Arduino. The developed control program conducts various packet monitoring more than ten times per a second, supporting intrinsically full duplex. In addition, communication protocol optimized in conveying a lot of information enables to control different contents. The contents produced with the control board and 3D printing are useful as a programming education tool to train the principle and the concept of coding.

  • A drone has been popularized to such an extent as to be seen in the near parks recently. The drone refers to an unmanned aerial vehicle(UVA) which can fly and be steered by a radio wave without a pilot and it has a airplane or helicopter shape. The drone was first started to be used from military purpose, but its usage has been expanded to the private such as broadcast shooting, crop-dusting, field discovery and hobby. However the drone that we can see often in the market is expansive, hard to be repaired when it broken down and has a discomfort of the short flight time.   • Most of the electronics we use today have built-in microcontrollers, which are called embedded systems. In such a small environment, responsiveness is very important for the microcontroller. In this paper, the basic input/output control, timer/counter interrupt operation principle, and understanding of the microcontroller are described. Program logic is proposed to improve throughput and latency by controlling characteristics of service routine and program execution order. The hardware simulations in this paper were verified using ATmega128 and PIC16F877A from Atmel and Microchip.

  • The purpose of this paper was to architecture optimal model of the scooped swing in high bar. The scooped swing was modeled to the double pendulum and was simulated with the Lagrange's equation of motion. Lagrange's method based on a energy approaching method was implemented as a equation of motion. The subject was a national man-gymnast(age 18yrs, height 153 cut mass 48 kg) and the high bar of SPIETH company was used to measure the scooped swing. Qualisys system(six MCU-240 cameras, QTM software)was used to capture data for imaging analysis. The solution of a model and data processing were solved in Mathematica5.0. The results were as follows: First model value of maximum bar displacement was longer than experimental value, that is, 0.02 m. Second, both angular pattern of segment1(HAT) had a increasing curve but curve patterns had a different concave and convex me. Third the experimental value of maximum angular angle of segment2(total leg) had larger than model value, that is, $4^{\circ}$. Conclusively, model parameters were quasi-optimized to obtain a quasi-match between simulated and actual performances. It hopes to simulate a human model by means of integrating musculoskeletal and neuromuscular system in the future study.
