  • In this study, we experimented with experience of digital signage using Virtual Reality technology, and the difference between presence and interactivity in brand experience and digital signage attitude. We conducted a two-way MANOVA analysis with cognitive presence, emotional presence, and media presence as the independent variable and interactivity level(high vs low) as dependent variables and the brand experience and attitude as dependent variables. First, cognitive presence was found to be most effective through behavioral experience when low interactivity. Second, emotional presence also has a positive effect on emotional experience when the level of interactivity is low. Third, media presence has a positive effect on emotional experience if the level of interactivity is low. This study suggests a communication strategy to communicate presence according to the characteristics of media strategy and technology through appropriate level of interactivity when using digital technology. Future research requires a qualitative approach rather than a quantitative one in terms of interactivity.

  • This study empirically demonstrates how the amount of advertising attitude and recall information differs according to the type of art infusion advertising (simple borrowing vs. modification vs. reinterpretation) and engagement level (high vs. low) of digital signage. It is to look into. Factorial design was performed between 3×2 subjects, and the hypothesis was verified through a two-way MANOVA analysis. As a result of the study, first, when simply art infusion of masterpieces in digital signage, both advertisement attitude and recall information were found to be low regardless of the level of engagement. Second, in the case of digital signage art infusion advertising, when the engagement is low, the modification has high advertising attitude and recollection. Third, when the level of engagement of digital signage is high, the attitude and recollection of the reinterpreted famous painting borrowing ads are high.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a construction model of Koryoin Larchiveum that considers the space and function of larchiveum, centering on the Koryoin Historical and Cultural Center. To this end, a survey was conducted targeting librarians, archivists, and curators, and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was conducted to find out the average difference between space and work requirements by institution. In addition, based on the survey, in-depth interviews were conducted with secondary experts (directors, representatives, Koryoin experts, etc.) on spatial components. As a result, first, spatial and functional elements set mainly for functions necessary for Koryoin Larchiveum were derived. Spatial elements include storage, reading rooms, and resting areas for libraries, archives storage rooms and exhibition rooms for archives, and storage and exhibition rooms for cultural centers. Functions (work) were represented by 4 elements: library 3, archives 5, and cultural center. Second, after reviewing the interview, the Koryoin Larchiveum construction model was modified and supplemented. As for the spatial composition, the installation space, work contents, and manpower in charge were presented from the first basement floor to the third floor above the ground.

  • The purposes of this study were to segment the cosmeceuticals market based on consumer usage behavior and to develop a profile of each segment using appearance-related variables, purchase attributes, purchase behavior and demographics. A total of 518 responses collected from a questionnaire survey to female consumers was analyzed. Cluster analysis on usage behavior of cosmeceutical products identified three groups including: Anti-aging/Whitening/Slimming product users (22% ); Pore-control product users(20%); and Minimum users(57%). MANOVA, ANOVA and Chi-square analysis revealed significant differences among the three groups on 2 appearance-related variables, 3 purchase attribute factors, 4 purchase behaviors, and 2 demographic characteristics. Based on the results, the study developed a profile of each segment and provided marketing implications.

  • This study investigated differences in beliefs about English learning of 286 EFL college students and 52 English teachers in Korea. Data was collected using Horwitz's Beliefs About Language Learning Inventory and compared between students and teachers in beliefs. To address the research questions, the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics including frequencies, factor analysis, MANOVA, ANOVA, t-test, and reliability coefficients. The results showed four factors in student beliefs: Difficulty of learning English, nature of learning English, importance of correctness in learning English, and motivation and perceived importance of learning English. Clear differences were found in students and teachers' beliefs in English learning aptitude and importance of translation, error correction, and grammar rules. A few belief differences were also identified between Koreans and native-speaking English teachers related to the importance of vocabulary learning, pronunciation, and cultural knowledge. The findings of the study indicated that background variables such as gender and major field of study have an effect on student beliefs about L2 learning. The present study also provided pedagogical considerations to reduce mismatch between students and teachers beliefs and to improve the L2 planning and instruction.

  • Teachers can maximize students' L2 learning by knowing preferred learning styles. This paper presents the results of a survey that asked 309 English learners to identify their perceptual learning style preferences. It further compared students' favored learning styles in terms of their gender and major field of study and explored a possible link between learning styles and English achievement. Collected data using Reid's (1995) questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive statistics, MANOVA, ANOVA, correlations, multiple regressions including squared partial correlations, and Cronbach's alpha. The results indicated that Korean students favored English learning in group regardless of gender, while their preferred mode of learning was significantly different in regard to their major field of study. Certain learning styles might be profitable for English achievement. Multiple regression analyses revealed that individual mode of learning was the best predictor of students' English achievement. It furthermore showed significant relationships between visual and individual styles of learning and English performance. The findings of the study reflected students' English learning context in which English native-speaking teachers frequently used communicative pair and small group activities for speaking practices that were consonant with students' learning styles.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of a company's response strategies (response type, communication style, and response sincerity) on customer's brand attitude and purchase intentions. A fictional Facebook fan page containing 6 separate scenarios was developed based on actual customer reviews and company responses observed on Facebook restaurant fan pages. Participants were recruited from Amazon's Mechanical Turk (MTurk). A total of 202 responses were obtained; 185 responses were analyzed after deleting insufficient responses. The results of MANOVA found that an accommodative response leads customers to have a more favorable attitude towards a brand and have stronger purchasing intentions. In addition, customers who perceive the company's response to a negative review as sincere are more likely to have a positive brand attitude and purchasing intentions, as compared to those who perceive it as either insincere or neutral.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate possible differences in the behavior problems of peer-rejected and peer-neglected children in relation to parent and teacher perspectives. The subjects in this study were 239 children and their parents(fathers:37, mothers: 155. father+mother pairs:47) and 10 teachers in the fifth grade of a public elementary school located in Seoul. The sociometric assessment mothods were positive and negative peer nominations. On the basis of this sociometric assessment. children were assigned to one of 4 categories in degree of popularity:65 popular, 53 average. 62 rejected. and 59 neglected children. Parents and teachers rated child behavior on the Achenbach and Edelbrock Child Behavior Checklist(CBCL) for parents and Teacher's Report Form(TRF) were used. The obtained data were analyzed by one-way MANOVA and Duncan Multiple Range Test. Rejected children were found to exhibit more behavior problems than neglected, popular, or average children. Neglected children, however, did not exhibit more behavior problems than chidren of average status.
