This paper implements a smartphone application for sound recording and player of mobile learning. Due to its ubiquitous nature, smartphones could be used anytime anywhere, and because they combine an audio and a microphone, the application for sound recording and player that this paper suggests can be easily and cost effectively developed without additional infrastructure. This paper also explains a technique which processes data of music lyrics. The technique is built on a database technology by using SQLite, a DBMS combined in a platform of android. Thus, as long as the smartphone application for sound recording and player is developed and the mobile phone has sound source files, learners could record their own voices to the sound. Therefore, we expect the learners without additional infrastructure to enable mobile learning.

This paper describes an implementation of the slide-show functionality, which is one of the services that can be provided by the Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB). While the existing analog radio broadcasting services provide audio only, DMB slide-show is the functionality that can deliver still images associated with the audio. For example, it can deliver the photographs of the singer, album cover images, or the lyrics of the song that correspond to the audio. There are two modes for the transmission of the slide-show. Firstly. the program-associated data (PAD) field within the DMB audio frame can be utilized and secondly, the slide-show data can be transmitted, after being multiplexed, with other service data as individual data stream separated from the audio. This paper describes PC-based implementations of a transmitter-side module that inserts slide-show data into the PAD area within audio bitstream and a receiver-side application module that plays the slide-show through decoding the PAD within the received audio bitstream and demonstrates their validity through experiments.

Fairy tales starting with the phrase 'Once upon a time' have been told throughout generations to generations. These stories of the past started with the history of mankind, and are constantly recreated under the names of legends, fables and myths. Through understanding the archetypes frequently occurring in legends and story telling techniques used to visualize them, the possibility of better recreation of stories and animations are sought. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the original form of archetypical Jeju epic dance lyrics are adjusted accordingly to meet the author's intention as it transforms into the modern animation 'Oneuli' By this comparative analysis, the utilization of archetypes and mythic motifs in the creation of animation are expected to enhance the interactions with the audiences beyond the border and age.

In this thesis, Improvisation of Jazz Vocal that can be characterized as Jazz music, namely practice of Scat suggest that way of applied approach that root position of chord and chord tones. Scat plays a solo using reproduced tunes of meaningless scat syllable that is not use the lyrics and melodies, which are written in a score. For this, Using the root position of chord is a reference point that Jazz vocal constructs a musical melody. Singing person can develop that reference point from simple scat to develop increasingly complex scat and can express that musical expression and communion. It analyzed the music functionally with a standard Jazz music 'All of me' as the center from composition of chord tone that improvise song to bass line, bass scat, analysis of chord tones arpeggio and expression. In this thesis, the improvisation of a Jazz vocal that may seem somewhat abstruse and complex could be relatively easy to construct through a gradual approach.

The purpose of this study is to make establishing criteria for Korea traditional nursery rhyme suitable for children and apply them effectively in early child education. The researchers of this study are firstly concerned with establishing criteria for Korean traditional nursery rhymes suitable for children. Secondly, they are concerned with establishing Korean traditional nursery rhymes suitable for children which are selected by following the established criteria. A Delphi survey was performed with early childhood educators and 30 related professionals to establish criteria for Korean traditional nursery rhymes suitable for children. The SPSS 12.0 program was used to calculate the standard deviation and average. Through this process the final seven criteria selected are: 'traditional play spaces and fun of play language is showed', 'lifestyles and emotions of children in the past is expressed', 'easy to understand story', 'the content is interesting', 'assisting in the development of children', 'easy to sing melody', and 'simple and repetitive in rhythm'. And 112 songs appropriate to the children were selected based on these criteria. The lyrics of the songs mainly expressed 'the joy of play.' it means songs need to combine with play to succeed to the next generation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of vocal and instrumental background music on a verbal memorizing task. Participants were 30 undergraduate and graduate students and were randomly divided into two groups. All participants in both groups took a pretest and a posttest to examine the improvement of the memorization. Background music was inserted during the memorization task. Subjects in Group A listened to a vocal recording whereas Group B listened to the same music except with a cello playing the melody of the vocal part. All participants were asked to take the posttest to examine the improvement of their knowledge after the memorization. The t-test was used to compare the two groups. Results indicated that Group A(8.93) exhibited higher mean scores than Group B(7.46) but there were no significant differences t(28) = 1.38, p < .05. This study implies that lyrics does not distract word memorization and background music does not influence cognition directly.

Music braille is made up of more systematic and various symbols compared with text braille. Therefore, the translation of braille music requires extensive knowledge of the music and the braille symbols. Because currently the computer program for the text braille has already developed, we don't need any help from the braille translator. However, the translation of music braille is hard without the help of a professional music braille translator, because the translation computer program is not perfect. The current situation is that the music braille translator reads the music score and translates it into the braille himself. In this paper, we designed and implemented the "Braille Music Converter", you can implement a person does not understand the braille translation into music braille well. It includes translation into text braille for the lyrics processing and rest, octave, key signature, time signature, tie, slur, repeat mark was confirmed that the successful conversion to the actual music score.

Query by humming is an effective and intuitive querying mechanism when a user wants to find a song without knowing lyrics. The query by humming system takes a user-hummed melody as input, compares it with melodies in a music database, and returns top-k similar melodies to the input. In this paper, we propose a novel algebra for query by humming, and design and implement a real query by humming system called HummingBase by exploiting the algebra. By analyzing existing similarity search techniques, we derive 10 core operators for the algebra. By using the well-defined algebra, we can easily implement such a system in a extensible and modular way. With two case studies, we show that the proposed algebra can easily represent the query processing processes of existing query-by-humming systems.

Band Wittgenstein is a relatively band-shaped team since Shin Hae-Chul's previous big band "Next." The album, which features Shin Hae-Chul's unique lyrics and specific concepts, is also similar to the Next albums. However, there is a difference in sounds used on the album that are properly fused sampling based work and computer music. This album is a low-budget home recording album produced at a total cost of 3 million won. Shin Hae-Chul was in charge of the main vocals and programming, and all of the works were done together by the band members. In this album, Shin Hae-Chul focused on teamwork rather than producing his own music. The low budget could have been a constraint on music production, but it must be highly appreciated for it being a novel attempt. Musicians who create music always create conflicts between their favorite music and popular ones. However, without creative efforts, there is no evolution or development in the music industry. It is clear that constant changes can continue to develop musical ability, which leads to the development of Korean pop music.
