Conventional SAW duplexer filters employ a 1/4 wavelength transmission line, which causes difficulty in fabrication of the strip line on the package. Its manufacturing process is also complicated, because it needs integrating process of the separate transmitting filter, receiving filter and isolation circuits. This paper concerns development of a new structure of the duplexer filter that has all the transmitting filter, the receiving filter and the isolation circuit as a one chip device. For composition of the duplexer, we design the component SAW ladder filters and the isolation network consisting of lumped inductor and capacitor elements. Performance of the whole duplexer is optimized by the nonlinear multivariable minimization of a proper target function, and the result is compared with that of commercial filters.
There are two methods to model the plastification of members comprising lumped and distributed plasticity. When a reinforced concrete member experiences inelastic deformations, cracks tend to spread from the joint interface resulting in a curvature distribution; therefore, the lumped plasticity methods assuming plasticity is concentrated at a zero-length plastic hinge section at the ends of the elements, cannot model the actual behavior of reinforced concrete members. Some spread plasticity models including uniform, linear and recently power have been developed to take extended inelastic zone into account. In the aforementioned models, the extended inelastic zones in proximity of critical sections assumed close to connections are considered. Although the mentioned assumption is proper for the buildings simply imposed lateral loads, it is not appropriate for the gravity load effects. The gravity load effects can influence the inelastic zones in structural elements; therefore, the plasticity models presenting the flexibility distribution along the member merely based on lateral loads apart from the gravity load effects can bring about incorrect stiffness matrix for structure. In this study, the linear flexibility distribution model is improved to account for the distributed plasticity of members subjected to both gravity and lateral load effects. To do so, a new model in which, each member is taken as one structural element into account is proposed. Some numerical examples from previous studies are assessed and outcomes confirm the accuracy of proposed model. Also comparing the results of the proposed model with other spread plasticity models illustrates glaring error produced due to neglecting the gravity load effects.

The problem of realizing a driving-Point impedance, the argument, $\theta$o, of which is as constant as possible over a given frequency reange was considered. An optimal design technique was applied by varying systematically the shape of the distributed element and the parameter values of the lumped elements. As a result it was possible to make the argument over two decades of frequencies within-2.5$^{\circ}$ for $\theta$o=- 30$^{\circ}$ and -60$^{\circ}$ and very flat above a certain frequency for $\theta$o=-45$^{\circ}$.

In this paper, new micromachined tunable bandpass filters for multi-band millimeter-wave telecommunication systems are proposed. Two types of mm-wave tunable filters are fabricated using micromachining technology and the responses of the filters are measured. One is two-pole lumped elements filter and the other two-pole resonators filter. Frequency tunability of the filter is achieved by changing the gap between a common CPW ground plate and the movable cantilever beam connected to the transmission line with the controllable range of 2.5 ${\mu}m$. The deflection of cantilever beam is measured with the applied DC voltage. With the applied bias voltage from 0 to 50 V, the fabricated filters show 0.6 GHz(2.3 %) at 26.6 GHz, and 0.8 GHz(2.5%) at 32 GHz center frequency shift for the lumped elements and resonators filter, respectively.

High speed engines with high power are increasingly on demands and almost engines employ crankshafts Such problems as bending and torsional vibrations become the point at issue in crankshaft analysis and design. In this study to overcome the diffiiculty with the large amount of computation in finite element vibration analysis of a crankshaft, a reduction method based on influence coefficient and lumped parameter is presented. which reduces the computation amount effectively and can be used in vibrational analysis and design of any types of crankshafts Crank journal and pinparts are meodelled as elements with 6degrees of freedom per node. Crank web part is modelled using equivalent mass and stiffness matices . based up on lumped parameter and influence coefficient respectively to reduce total degrees of freedom considerablely. To confirm the scheme of the study the results are compared with the known data and they are coincident. Also a simple crankshaft is designed and manufactured for experiments. The calculated results using reduction method and the experimental results agree well The scheme of this study can be utilized in evaluation results agree well. This paper predicts the changes of natural frequencies due to the changes of mass at different point mass stations by using iterative calculation Transfer Matrices Method for different boundary conditions of a single beam structure (fixed-free and fixed-fixed beam). Firstly, the first three natural frequencies of an original beam are obtained using Transfer Matrices Method to verify the accuracy of the obtained results. The results are then compared with the exact solutions before purposely changing the parameter of mass. Both beams are modeled as discrete continuous systems with six-lumped-mass system. A single beam is broken down into a point mass and a massless beam which represent a single station and expressed in matrix form. The assembled matrices are used to determine the value of natural frequencies using numerical interpolation method corresponding to their mode number by manipulating some elements in the assembled matrix.
A compact dipole antenna for the terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (TDMB) application is presented. The length of the antenna is about $0.06{\lambda}$ at the TDMB resonance frequency of 190 MHz. Miniaturization of the antenna is achieved by using meander structures and lumped elements. The proposed antenna has two resonance frequencies and covers the TDMB band from 174 MHz to 216 MHz in Korea. The antenna has good impedance bandwidth and radiation characteristics for the TDMB. The experimental results of the designed dipole antenna are presented and analyzed.
A method for obtaining the motion of an impact system whose primary and secondary system are composed of lumped masses, springs and dampers, and all the contacts are made through spring and damping elements is presented. The frequency response functions derived from the equations of motion and the impulse response functions obtained from the inverse Fourier transform of the derived frequency response functions are used for the calculation of the system responses. The procedure developed for the calculation of displacements and force time-histories was based on the convolution integrals of impulse response functions and forces applied to the systems. Time histories of displacements and contact forces are obtained for the case where a random excitation is applied to a point in the system. Impact statistics such as contact forces and the time between impacts calculated from those time histories is presented.
A high-temperature superconducting 1.78 GHz bandpass filter, designed for PCS applications, is presented. The structure consists of microstrip pseudo-lumped elements, which make the miniaturization of the filter possible. A 5-pole microstrip filter can be realized on 37 mm ${\times}$ 9 mm LaAlO$_3$ substrate, using double-sided high-temperature superconducting YBa$_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$ thin film. This filter shows 0.7% fractional bandwidth, 0.3 dB insertion loss, and 12 dB return loss in the passband at 60 K.

In this study, nonlinear vibration analysis of the cylindrical orthotropic porous thin plate under V-shaped tension distribution with wire impact damping is considered. We make dynamic model of the plate under the tension using commercial FEM code and reduce the number of its degrees of freedom using dynamic condensation. The dynamic model of wire is obtained as lumped mass model from string equation. And then we analyze the nonlinear vibration of the plate including the impact phenomenon between the plate and the wire using the reduced mass and stiffness matrices of the plate and lumped model of the wire. The contact phenomenon between them can be described by impact contact elements composed of contact stiffness coefficients from Hertzian contact theory and contact damping coefficients from restitution coefficient between them. And we discussed the results of nonlinear vibration analysis for variations of their design parameters.
