This study developed low-cost and high-efficiency pavement condition monitoring technology to produce the key information required for pavement management. A noise and artificial intelligence-based monitoring system was devised to compensate for the shortcomings of existing high-end equipment that relies on visual information and high-end sensors. From idea establishment to system development, functional definition, information flow, architecture design, and finally, on-site field evaluations were carried out. As a result, confidence in the high level of artificial intelligence evaluation was secured. In addition, hardware and software elements and well-organized guidelines on system utilization were developed. The on-site evaluation process confirmed that non-experts could easily and quickly investigate and visualized the data. The evaluation results could support the management works of road managers. Furthermore, it could improve the completeness of the technologies, such as prior discriminating techniques for external conditions that are not considered in AI learning, system simplification, and variable speed response techniques. This paper presents a new paradigm for pavement monitoring technology that has lasted since the 1960s.
This study identified the level of awareness of dangerous accidents by empirically analyzing the possibility of hazardous accidents at work and the possibility of dangerous accidents due to COVID-19 targeting the participating seniors who are active in the Senior Club, an organization dedicated to job placement for the elderly. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for preparing measures to improve risk accidents that may occur in organizations in charge of job placement for the elderly and to suggest countermeasures to prevent dangerous accidents. For this purpose, data were collected from the elderly participating in 16 senior clubs in Busan, and 425 of the collected 430 were ultimately used. As a result of this study, first, it was found that the elderly who participated in a job-dedicated institution for the elderly generally perceived the possibility of occupational risk accidents and risk factors due to COVID-19 to be low. Second, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the probability of occurrence of hazardous accidents at work according to demographic characteristics during the participation period, and the probability of occurrence of dangerous accidents with COVID-19 was found to have statistically significant differences in the classification and age of the participating elderly. Based on the results of this study, the project manager suggested creating a safety accident management record sheet, preparing a risk management manual, and establishing a risk management system reflecting the individual characteristics of the participants.

The demand for faster, lighter, and thinner portable electronic devices has brought about a change in semiconductor packaging technology. In response, a stacked chip-scale package(SCSP) is used widely in the assembly industry. One of the key materials for SCSP is a die-attach film (DAF). Excellent flowability is needed for DAF for successful die attachment without voids. For DAF with high flowability, two-step curing is often required to reduce a cure crack, but one-step curing is needed to reduce the processing time. In this study, DAF composition was categorized into three groups: cure (epoxy resins), soft (rubbers), hard (phenoxy resin, silica) component. The effect of the composition on a cure crack was examined when one-step curing was applied. The die-attach void and flowability were also assessed. The cure crack decreased as the amount of hard components decreased. Die-attach voids also decreased as the amount of hard components decreased. Moreover, the decrease in cure component became important when the amount of hard component was small. The flowability was evaluated using high-temperature storage modulus and bleed-out. A decrease in the amount of hard components was critical for the low storage modulus at 100℃. An increase in cure component and a decrease in hard component were important for the high bleed-out at 120℃(BL-120).
The emission trading system is an essential policy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and converting low-carbon society. EU ETS is a good benchmark that is ahead of Korea's emission trading system in terms of operating period and design know-how. Therefore, this study focused on the key design elements of EU ETS phase 4 such as total emission allowances issued (Cap), free allocation method, carbon leakage list, market stability reserve, and innovation supporting system. In addition, we analyzed the impact of key design elements and their changes during EU ETS Phase 1 to 4 on the design and operation of Korea emission trading system in the future. First of all, the expected impact on the design of Korea emission trading system is to increase three demands: preparing benchmark renewal plans, establishing criteria for selecting free allocation industries that reflect domestic industrial structure and characteristics and introducing two-stage evaluations for free allocation industries, and preparing specific plan to support innovation and industries using allowance auction revenues. The next three impacts on the operation of Korea emission trading system are the increased needs for objective and in-depth impact assessment of plan and amendments, provision of system stability and response opportunities by quickly confirming plan and amendments prior to the implementation, and coordination of the emission trading system governance and stakeholder participation encouragement.

Interest in smart parks has been increasing due to the recent rapid rise of smart cities, but concerns are growing over the development of technology-oriented smart parks. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relative importance of park services through Focus Group Interviews and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to develop user-oriented smart parks in the future. To this end, literature on park functions and services was reviewed, and interviews with experts in the field of landscape architecture and IT were conducted to derive service items. The AHP model consisted of four values, and 15 park services were established and used to survey 38 landscape experts. As a result, services for improving the park's essential functions, such as contact with nature, relaxation, and exercise-walking, were deemed important. Services related to the environment and safety in response to climate change, such as the amelioration of pollution and heatwaves were also high. The importance of social integration services was relatively low, but it was considered an important service to when enhancing community participation. Future smart parks should enhance the health benefits of contact with nature rather than implementing excessive artificial facilities and technology. Additionally, smart technology will need to be applied based on users' needs while reflecting local characteristics. Efforts should be made to enhance user intimacy and improve the understanding of smart parks by strengthening public relations education.

Coastal safety accidents are characterized by a high proportion of human negligence and repeated occurrences of accidents caused by the same factors. The Korea Coast Guard prepares and implements various countermeasures to prevent accidents at coastal safety accident sites. However, there is a shortage of safety facilities and safety management personnel according to the limited budget. In addition, the ability to be proactively and proactively respond is low due to the limitations of the coastal safety accident risk forecasting system, which relies on the meteorological warning of the Korea Meteorological Administration. In this study, as part of preparing the foundation for establishing a preemptive and active coastal safety management system that can manage accident-causing factors, predict and evaluate risk, and implement response and mitigation measures after an accident occurs before coastal safety accidents occur. The establishment of a risk assessment system was proposed. The main evaluation factors and indicators for risk assessment were established through the analysis of the status of coastal safety accidents. The risk assessment methodology was applied to 40 major hazardous areas designated and managed by the Korea Coast Guard.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between importance and satisfaction of beauty contest using IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) by deriving the quality factors of contest for revitalize beauty contest. For the study, a survey was conducted on participants with experience participating in beauty contest, and the collected data were analyzed using a response sample t-test and a PIA matrix. The results are as follows. First, there was a difference in importance and satisfaction as the average of importance was high. Second, in the first quadrant of the IPA matrix, contents related to contest assignment were mainly shown. This was analyzed as an effective factor that can improve the quality of the competition. Third, in the second quadrant, factors related to contest review were distributed. Accordingly, measures are required to increase the expertise and transparency of review. Fourth, in the third quadrant, the contents of the contest operation are mainly shown, and the satisfaction level is low, but supplementing it will have an improvement effect. Fifth, in the fourth quadrant, the satisfaction of the ability improvement item was high, which is analyzed that the contest experience affects the improvement of individual skills. Through this, it is significant to be used as basic data to establish a plan for revitalizing beauty contest.

Ice accretion on the aircraft components, such as wings, fuselage, and empennage, can occur when the aircraft encounters a cloud zone with high humidity and low temperature. The prevention of ice accretion is important because it causes a decrease in the aerodynamic performance and flight stability, thus leading to fatal safety problems. In this study, a shape design optimization of a multi-element airfoil is performed to minimize the amount of ice accretion on the high-lift device including leading-edge slat, main element, and trailing-edge flap. The design optimization framework proposed in this paper consists of four major parts: air flow, droplet impingement and ice accretion simulations and gradient-free optimization algorithm. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) simulation is used to predict the aerodynamic performance and flow field around the multi-element airfoil at the angle of attack 8°. Droplet impingement and ice accretion simulations are conducted using the multi-physics computational analysis tool. The objective function is to minimize the total mass of ice accretion and the design variables are the deflection angle, gap, and overhang of the flap and slat. Kriging surrogate model is used to construct the response surface, providing rapid approximations of time-consuming function evaluation, and genetic algorithm is employed to find the optimal solution. As a result of optimization, the total mass of ice accretion on the optimized multielement airfoil is reduced by about 8% compared to the baseline configuration.

In this study, the antioxidant effect of black sea ginseng containing a large amount of eicosapentaenoic acid, a natural physiologically active substance, was investigated, and its superiority as a functional cosmetic raw material was presented. The ability of the sea cucumber extract to remove active oxygen was evaluated for the inhibitory effect on intracellular nitric oxide (NO) production. The physiologically active substances of sea cucumber have an antioxidant effect that removes free radicals, and as a result of evaluation, it was confirmed that excellent NO production was suppressed. Studies have shown that bioactive substances are involved in antioxidant effects, immune and inflammatory response regulation by showing high antioxidant efficacy even at low concentrations. It is thought that the antioxidant removal ability of sea cucumber greatly contributes to the antioxidant efficacy of phenolic components containing EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) of the sea cucumber extract. It was found to be similar to the report that the antioxidant component of sea cucumber works. In addition, it is excellent for wound healing with the eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) component contained in a large amount of sea cucumber extract, which has been proven to be involved in the inhibitory effect of inflammatory activity. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that the effect of the phenol component contained in the sea cucumber extract had a close causal relationship with the antioxidant activity.

Globally, in accordance with the goals set forth in the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, each country has established and declared a reduction target for carbon neutrality by 2050. The roadmaps for establishing long-term greenhouse gas emissions development strategies and setting reduction targets have been announced. As the international community accelerates the transition to the net-zero society, 128 countries have declared net-zero by the end of 2020, and the net-zero declaration continues to expand around G20 member states. In December 2020, Korea announced the "2050 Net-zero Strategy" to establish a foundation for simultaneously achieving carbon reduction, economic growth, and improved quality of life for the people through active response to the net-zero, and pursuing policy tasks in stages to do this. Comprehensive carbon management is insufficient due to the lack of comprehensive carbon management due to the departure from the areas of mandatory reduction, such as the GHG energy target management system and the GHG emissions trading offset system implemented to reduce greenhouse gases in Korea. Currently, there is no cases for estimation or calculation of carbon dioxide emissions for the Mine Reclamation projects. It is reviewed the standard methods proposed by domestic and foreign carbon emission calculation methods and proposed appropriate carbon emission estimation methods for the Mine Reclamation projects in this study.
