  • In this paper, a new group sampling plan for the lot acceptance is proposed for the time truncated life test, which can be utilized when multi-item testers are implemented. The design parameters are found using the two-point approach such that the producer's and consumer's risks are satisfied simultaneously at the acceptable reliability level and the lot tolerance reliability level, respectively. The case of Weibull distribution is described to illustrate the procedure that can be used when the quality level is expressed by a multiple of the specified life. The advantage of the proposed plan is demonstrated by comparing with the existing plan in terms of the sample size required. The tables are constructed and some examples are given to illustrate the procedure developed here.

  • In IMT-2000 systems, the outer loop dynamically adjusts the target SIR so that adequate performance in terms of the frame error rate(FER) and the true quality measure is achieved. This paper utilizes an analytic model lot outer loop power control(OLPC) adjusting the target SIR in IMT-2000. The analytic model is based on the discrete-time Markov chain as voice traffic SIR. It is described that the model can be used to find the optimum step size in voice traffic for fast fading environments. The optimum step size influences the performance of OLPC: As the step size decreases, the average target SIR increases and average FER decreases.

  • In the Gen-2 Q-algorithm, the values of weight C, which is the parameter for incrementing or decrementing the slot-count size, are not optimized in the standard. However, the standard suggests that the reader uses small values of C when the slot-count is large and larger values of C when the slot-count is small. In this case, if the reader selects an inappropriate weight, there are a lot of empty or collided slots. As a result, the performance will be declined because the frame size does not converge to the optimal point quickly during the query round. In this paper, we propose a scheme to select the weight based on the slot-count size of current query round. Through various computer simulations, it is demonstrated that the proposed scheme achieves more stable performances than Gen-2 Q-algorithm.

  • Q-algorithm is proposed at EPC global Class-1 Generation-2 RFID systems to determine the frame size of next query round. In Q-algorithm, the reader calculates the frame size without estimating the number of tags. But, it uses only the slot conditions: empty, success, or collision. Therefore, it wastes less computational cost and is simpler than other algorithms. However, the constant parameter C value, which is used for calculating the next frame size, is not optimized. In this paper, we propose the optimized C values of Q-algorithm according to the number of tags within the identification range of reader through a lot of computer simulations.

  • This study has been performed to investigate MRR(metal removal rate) surface roughness with various pulse-on duration using the copper and graphite electrode according to the electrode size on the heat treated STD 11 which is extensively used for metallic molding steel in the EDM. The results obtained are as follow ;a)MRR increases a lot when pulse-on duration is 100 $\mu{s}$ or less but MRR has little difference with pulse-on duration of 100 $\mu{s}$ or more b) According to the increase of Pulse-on duration the large the electrode size the more MRR c) Safe discharge is needed to make maximum of MRR and the metallic organization must be complicated for discharge induction. d) Actual machining time is longer than theoretical machining time at the short pulse-on duration because of skin effect of current. e) Graphite electrode needs the larger electric discharge energy than copper electrode to remove remained chips completely.

  • As a series of studies about natural ventilation driven by wind in basement parking lots of apartment, the influence of opening size and surrounding buildings on ventilation rate was analyzed. Natural ventilation in underground parking lots almost rely on wind than temperature difference. To investigate natural ventilation driven by wind, wind tunnel tests by using scale model and tracer gas method were conducted. $CO_2$-gas concentration was measured, natural ventilation rates were calculated. The experimental results showed that the natural ventilation rate is more reliable to wind direction and surrounding building than opening size and distance between buildings. It was verified that surrounding buildings play a principal role in increasing air flow rate by accelerating wind speed, and growing turbulence intensity. And it showed that ventilation performance is able to be increased by oblique wind to entrance ramp than head on wind in underground parking lots with surrounding buildings.

  • Silicon oil in viscous fluid damper has a viscoelastic feature that show stiffness besides damping. These properties depend on frequency and are non-linear. A lot of research has been conducted in order to identify viscoelastic damper with mathematical model. Fractional Derivative Maxwell Model has been widely used, but this model did not explain the effect of damper size change on the damper performance. In this paper, the experimental study was conducted to validate damper's dynamic behaviors when total damper's size is changed while maintaining same aspect ratio and orifice size.

  • PAM-STAMP is a widely used program which deals with press forming analysis. A blanking used in the press process depends on the experience of the workers. Thus it causes some waste material and demands a lot of time and many costs at the manufacturing mold. So we need to optimize of the blanking size. We have studied the optimal blanking size of the Brace Center Pillar using an Inverse module in PAM-STAMP

  • Enterprises are continuously trying management innovation activities for survival. Among representative management innovation activities in domestic manufacture enterprise, which are TPS, 6 sigma, Lean 6 sigma etc. Many enterprises through these reform activity have gotten good result. However, these techniques have merits and demerits according to circumstance of enterprise. Specially, there are a lot of difficulties in medium and small size enterprises. In this research, We introduce Lean-SMAIS Method for medium and small size enterprises that is consists of the merit of lean 6 sigma and software(which is called ProEye). We prove Lean-SMAIS method is useful by applying medium and small size enterprise A company.
