A conditional entropy codingscheme for tree structured vector quantization (나무구조 벡터양자화를 위한 조건부 엔트로피 부호화기법)

  • This paper proposes an efficient lossless coding scheme for tree structured vector quantization (TSVQ) system which efficiently exploits inter-block correlation. The TSVQ index of the current block is adaptively arithmeticencoded depending on the indices of the previous blocks. This paper also presents a reductio method, which effectively resolve the memory problem which usually arises in many conditional entropy coding schemes. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides remarkable bitrate reduction by effectively exploiting not only linear but also non-linear inter-block correlation.

  • This paper deals with the tapped time delay circuit with SCF(Switched Capacitor Filters). This filter is composed of lossless discrete integrator and the SCF has 2-phase clocks. Experimental results have shown that telephone signals (0~4kHz) could be delayed in the range of sampling frequency 80kHz. But above the range, operational amplifiers and analog switchs have been difficult in the normal operating condition.

  • A new method is presented for the synthesis of lossy tapered transmission line having presecribed frequency characteristic in the passband. The theory of lossy case extends lossless cases suggested by Klopfenstein and others, and a special optimization process based on the Fourier transfrom pair and generalized Taylor's procedure is proposed for exact designs of frequency-dependent and distance-dependent lossy tapered line. The process is achieved by control of zero points of lobe-like input reflection coefficient. The validity of the suggested method is confirmed by synthesizing a lossy microstrip transformer and analyzing the simulation results.

  • The physical optical solution to the E-polarized diffraction by a composite wedge consisting of perfect conductor and lossless dielectric cannot sayisfy not only the boundary conditions at the wedge interfaces but also the edge condition at the wedge tip. Its diffraction coefficients are extended outside the composite wedge to become the exact solution to the perfectly conducting wedge as its relative dielectric constant increases to infinite or decreases to 1. It is assured that the extended diffraction coefficients approach zero in the arificially complementary region of the composite wedge.

  • 논문에서는 S+P 웨이브릿 변환과 정수 웨이브릿 필터들을 비교 분석하고, 9/7텝 정수 웨이브릿 필터를 이용하여 웨이브릿 변환을 하고, 점진적 전송에 적합 하고, 다중 분해능 구조의 종속성과 방향성에 대한 고려와 예측오차의 피드백을 이용한 컨텍스트 모델링 예측과 적응산술부호화에 의한 엔트로피 코딩 방법을 제안하였다. 다양한 영상들에 대한 실험을 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 무손실 영상 압축알고리즘을 S+P 웨이브릿을 이용한 결과와 비교하였다.

  • In this paper, we present a result of our study on how to construct a pilot MPACS (medical hic lure archiving and communication System) based on X -Window system. The proposed MPACS Is composed of image acquisition units, image archiving and processing units, display units, and all units are Interfaced with a LAN The image management is done according to the TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) , and the dis- play system is built upon generally accepted software packages, namely the X -Window system. Also, lossless and lossy digital image compression methods were implemented and tested with X -ray and CT images.

  • 이산사건 시스템을 기술하는데는 다양한 방법론들이 있으며 event의 관점에서 본다면, event loss 방법론과 event lossless방법론이 있다. event loss방법론의 경우 때때로 원치 않는 event loss가 발생하여 시스템을 deadlock의 상태로 이끌 수가 있으며, 이러한 것을 피하기 위해 본 논문은 event loss방식의 동기식방법론인 DEVS형식론으로 기술된 모델을 본 논문에서 제안하는 TSRG란 방법을 이용하여 event loss의 유무를 해석할 수 있는 기법을 소개하고자 한다. 소개된 해석 기법은 linear programming을 이용하여 해를 구할 수 있으며, DEVS형식론으로 기술된 이산사건 모델들간의 event loss의 유무를 해석함으로써 서로간의 통신 동기화의 가능성 분석을 가능하도록 한다.

  • 본 고는 가장 최근에 개발된 HDRI 포맷인 OpenEXR 파일 포맷에 대하여 살펴본다. 지금까지 HDRI 포맷으로서 사용되었던 Log Luv TIFF나 Radiance RGBE와 같은 FP 타입의 HDRI 포맷은 압축 방식에 있어서 모두 손실 압축(loss compression)이거나 또는 너무 많은 메모리(32bits FP)를 소비하는 단점이 있었다. 그러나 ILM에 의해서 개발된 EXR 영상 포맷은 16bits FP 데이터 타입에 무손실 압축(lossless compression)을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 유연한 확장성을 제공하고 있기 때문에 앞으로 영상 산업에서의 비주얼 이펙트 표현에 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.

  • A design method of lossy interstage networks for broadband microwave amplifiers is presented. A lossy interstage network is assumed as the combination of two lossless networks between which a lossy serial impedance or a lossy parallel admittance is inserted. For the circuit with two transistors and a lossy element, realizable ranges of gain and reflection coefficients are derived. And the relationships between gain and reflection coefficients are derived. Illustrative examples are presented by using the proposed method.

  • In this work, we propose a compression algorithm for depth images, which are obtained from multi-view sequences. The proposed algorithm represents a depth image using a 3-D regular triangular mesh and predictively encodes the mesh vertices using a linear prediction scheme. The prediction errors are encoded with a arithmetic coder. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm provides better performances than the JPEG2000 lossless coder.
