A State Space Analysis on the Stability of Periodic Orbit Predicted by Harmonic Balance

  • A closed loop system with a linear plant and nonlinearity in the feedback connection is analyzed for its quasi-static orbital stability by a state-space approach. First a periodic orbit is assumed to exist in the loop which is determined by describing function method for the given nonlinearity. This is possible by selecting a proper nonlinearity and a rigorous justification of the describing function method.[1-3, 18, 20]. Then by introducing residual operator, a linear perturbed model can be formulated. Using various transformations like a modified eigenstructure decomposition, periodic-averaging, charge of variables and coordinate transformation, the stability of the periodic orbit, as a solution of harmonic balance, can be shown by investigating a simple scalar function and result of linear algebra.   • In this paper, we study the pole assignment problem for three-dimensional systems. We transform the denominator of transfer functions of the closed-loop system into the product of three stable one-dimensional polynomials, by performing two-dimensional dynamical feedback and input transformation on the given three-dimensional systems. In the next, we consider the possibility that these two-dimensional dynamic compensators are realizable, thoroughly, and propose the counter-measure in case that they are not realizable. And, we obtain the conditions so that the closed-loop three-dimensional systems are stable. Moreover, we calculate the dynamical dimension which is necessary for the pole assigntmnt, and suggest the pole assignmnt method with the lowest dynamical dimnsion.

  • In this paper, a complete solution to fuzzy-model-based digital redesign problem (IDR) for sampled-data nonlinear systems is presented, The term of intelligent digital redesign (IDR) is to design a digital fuzzy controller such that the sampled-data closed-loop fuzzy system is equivalent to the continuous-time closed-loop fuzzy system using the state matching, Its solution is simply obtained by linear transformation, Under the proposed sampled-data controller, the states of the sampled-data and continuous-time fuzzy system are completely matched at every sampling points.

  • The objective of this research is to develop a measurement error model for sculptured surfaces in On-Machine Measurement (OMM) process based on a closed-loop configuration. The geometric error model of each axis of a vertical CNC Machining center is derived using a 4${\times}$4 homogeneous transformation matrix. The ideal locations of a touch-type probe for the scupltured surface measurement are calculated from the parametric surface representation and X-, Y- directional geometric errors of the machine. Also, the actual coordinates of the probe are calculated by considering the pre-travel variation of a probe and Z-directional geometric errors. Then, the step-by-step measurement error analysis method is suggested based on a closed-loop configuration of the machining center including workpiece and probe errors. The simulation study shows the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed error modeling strategy.

  • In this paper, we propose the bus/bypass synchronization phase lock loop (B-Sync PLL) method using each phase voltage controller of a parallel UPS inverter. The B-Sync PLL included in each phase voltage control system of parallel UPS inverters has the transient response and the phase synchronization error at grid normal or blackout. The validity of this method is verified by simulation and experiment. As a result, the parallel UPS inverters using the proposed method confirmed that the output phase was continuously synchronized when a grid blackout, improving the transient response characteristics for stable load power supply and equal load sharing.

  • A simulation technique, which simulate dynamic motion and communication environments of ship in the lab, is needed in order to reduce the testing cost when we evaluate the transfer alignment performance of shipboard INS. Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) can be used as an effective test method for those system because it can provide flexible and realistic simulation environments, various test scenario, and repeated test environment in the lab without additional cost and person. This paper presents the methods for implementing the real time HILS environment for testing transfer alignment performance of shipboard INS. It includes real time executive for controlling realtime simulation and calculating the ship motion, communication method for interfacing between the systems, and coordinate transformation method for converting real ship coordinate attitude data to lab coordinate attitude data.

  • 본 논문에서는 안정된 진동을 얻기 위한 자동 이득 제어(AGC) 루프를 이용하여 자가 유지 특성을 갖는 공진형 가속도계를 설계하였다. 제안된 가속도계의 기본 원리는 가속도 입력시, 가변 진동의 진폭을 일정하게 유지시키는 방법을 이용한다. 시스템 모델링과 진동의 포락선을 고려한 루프 설계 및 변환를 통하여 다양한 가속도 입력 하에서 진동 신호의 진폭을 일정하게 유지하도록 제어기를 설계하였고, 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 실현가능성을 확인하였다. 따라서 고안된 공진 가속도계는 산업과 민간 응용 분야에 있어서 제어용 등급의 관성 측정 시스템에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

State-Space Analysis on The Stability of Limit Cycle Predicted by Harmonic Balance

  • In this paper, a closed-loop system constructed with a linear plant and nonlinearity in the feedback connection is considered to argue against its planar orbital stability. Through a state space approach, a main result that presents a sufficient stability criterion of the limit cycle predicted by solving the harmonic balance equation is given. Preliminarily, the harmonic balance of the nonlinear feedback loop is assumed to have a solution that determines the characteristics of the limit cycle. Using a state-space approach, the nonlinear loop equation is reformulated into a linear perturbed model through the introduction of a residual operator. By considering a series of transformations, such as a modified eigenstructure decomposition, periodic averaging, change of variables, and coordinate transformation, the stability of the limit cycle can be simply tested via a scalar function and matrix. Finally, the stability criterion is addressed by constructing a composite Lyapunov function of the transformed system.

An Inductance Voltage Vector Control Strategy and Stability Study Based on Proportional Resonant Regulators under the Stationary αβ Frame for PWM Converters

  • The mathematical model of a three phase PWM converter under the stationary αβ reference frame is deduced and constructed based on a Proportional-Resonant (PR) regulator, which can replace trigonometric function calculation, Park transformation, real-time detection of a Phase Locked Loop and feed-forward decoupling with the proposed accurate calculation of the inductance voltage vector. To avoid the parallel resonance of the LCL topology, the active damping method of the proportional capacitor-current feedback is employed. As to current vector error elimination, an optimized PR controller of the inner current loop is proposed with the zero-pole matching (ZPM) and cancellation method to configure the regulator. The impacts on system's characteristics and stability margin caused by the PR controller and control parameter variations in the inner-current loop are analyzed, and the correlations among active damping feedback coefficient, sampling and transport delay, and system robustness have been established. An equivalent model of the inner current loop is studied via the pole-zero locus along with the pole placement method and frequency response characteristics. Then, the parameter values of the control system are chosen according to their decisive roles and performance indicators. Finally, simulation and experimental results obtained while adopting the proposed method illustrated its feasibility and effectiveness, and the inner current loop achieved zero static error tracking with a good dynamic response and steady-state performance.

확장 Born 근사에 의한 소형루프 전자탐사법의 신속한 2.5차원 모델링 (Rapid 2.5D Small-Loop EM Modeling by Extended Born Approximation)

  • 소형루프 전자탐사법은 다양한 현장에 성공적으로 적용되어 온 효과적인 물리탐사법으로 특히 천부 지반조사나 환경오염대의 정성적 조사에 널리 사용되고 있다. 최근 들어, 지하의 지질구조를 보다 정량적으로 파악하고 역산에 근거한 영상화 기법이 도입되면서 소형 루프 전자탐사 자료에 대한 모델링과 역산이 시도되고 있다. 하지만 2.5차원 소형 루프 전자탐사 자료의 모델링은 여러 개의 파수에서 그 해를 구한 다음 다시 공간영역으로 변환하는 과정이 요구되며, 이 경우 적지 않은 계산시간이 소요된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 변환이 필요 없는 확장 Born 근사법에 의한 2.5차원 소형루프 전자탐사 알고리듬을 개발하고 이를 HCP 배열 소형루프 전자탐사에 적용하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다.
