  • This paper compares efficiency results and performance targets for academic departments in a local private college using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Because of an aging society, a smaller school-age population entering colleges, and enhanced accreditation standards by the government, colleges and universities are not recruiting and retaining sufficient students and therefore are struggling for survival. In contrast to popular four-year undergraduate universities concentrated in Seoul and its satellite cities, retaining students is critical for the survival of local private colleges in poor or remote regions. Therefore, it is very important to identify the factors involved in the retention of students in the various departments of a college. However, given the different characteristics of the departments, it is difficult to identify one unique or robust set of standards to evaluate their performance. The purpose of this paper is to maximize student retention capabilities by ensuring that additional resources are assigned to efficient DMUs, while, inefficient DMUs are given benchmarked targets. Based on previous studies and college accreditation standards, this paper presents indices to be used in evaluating the efficiency of academic departments in a college. In evaluating relative efficiency, this paper uses the output-oriented BCC model. To define target levels to be achieved for efficient DMU, a multi-stage DEA procedure is used.

Topic Modeling Analysis of Beauty Industry using BERTopic and LDA

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is identifying the research trends of degree papers related to the beauty industry and providing information which can contribute to the development of the domestic beauty industry and the direction of various research about beauty industry. Research design, data and methodology: This study used 154 academic papers and 189 academic papers with English abstracts out of 299 academic papers. All of these papers were found by searching for the keyword "beauty industry" in ScienceON on August 15, 2022. For the analysis, BERTopic and LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) analysis were conducted using Python 3.7. Also, OLS regression analysis was conducted to understand the annual increase and decrease trend of each topic derived with trend analysis. Results: As a result of word frequency analysis, the frequency of satisfaction, management, behavior, and service was found to be high. In addition, it was found that 'service', 'satisfaction' and 'customer' were frequently associated with program and relationship in the word co-occurrence frequency analysis. As a result of topic modeling, six topics were derived: 'Beauty shop', 'Health education', 'Cosmetics', 'Customer satisfaction', 'Beauty education', and 'Beauty business'. The trend analysis result of each topic confirmed that 'Beauty education' and 'Health education' are getting more attention as time goes by. Conclusions: The future studies must resolve the extreme polarization between the structure of the small beauty industry and beauty stores. Furthermore, the researches have to direct various ways to create the performance of internal personnel. The ways to maximize product capabilities such as competitive cosmetics and brands are also needed attentions.

개선된 Perpendicular Simplification을 사용한 장애물 주변 지형적 경계 생성기법 (Keep-out Geofencing Method using A Modified Perpendicular Simplification)

  • 지형적 경계 (geofence)란 무인기가 침범하거나 또는 벗어나지 말아야 할 영역을 설정해 놓은 가상의 경계로서, 저고도 무인기 교통관리체계(UAS traffic management)의 필수적인 구성요소 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 perpendicular 알고리즘을 개선하여 지형적 경계를 단순화하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법을 실제 건물을 측정하여 얻은 데이터에 적용하여 성능을 평가하였으며, 제안된 방법이 기존 방법에 비해 공간적 낭비를 최소화하면서도 꼭짓점의 개수를 효과적으로 줄임을 확인하였다.

다중에이전트 경로탐색(MAPF) 기반의 실내배송로봇 군집제어 구현 (Implementation of MAPF-based Fleet Management System)

  • Multiple AMRs have been proved to be effective in improving warehouse productivity by eliminating workers' wasteful walking time. Although Multi-agent Path Finding (MAPF)-based solution is an optimal approach for this task, its deployment in practice is challenging mainly due to its imperfect plan-execution capabilities and insufficient computing resources for high-density environments. In this paper, we present a MAPF-based fleet management system architecture that robustly manages multiple robots by re-computing their paths whenever it is necessary. To achieve this, we defined four events that trigger our MAPF solver framework to generate new paths. These paths are then delivered to each AMR through ROS2 message topic. We also optimized a graph structure that effectively captures spatial information of the warehouse. By using this graph structure we can reduce computational burden while keeping its rescheduling functionality. With proposed MAPF-based fleet management system, we can control AMRs without collision or deadlock. We applied our fleet management system to the real logistics warehouse with 10 AMRs and observed that it works without a problem. We also present the usage statistic of adopting AMRs with proposed fleet management system to the warehouse. We show that it is useful over 25% of daily working time.

경쟁력분석에 따른 국내 북극항로 전진기지 구축방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Competitiveness and Effect Analysis for Developing a Port Specialized in Northern Sea Route)

  • 최근 북극의 해빙이 가속화되면서 북극의 자원개발과 함께 북극항로를 통한 에너지 자원과 화물수송이 가능해 졌다. 이로 인해 북극 연안국들을 중심으로 북극해를 선점하기 위한 갈등이 심화되고 있다. 국내에서도 북극항로 개설에 따른 화물수요와 관련 인프라를 선점하기 위해 각 지자체들이 각축전을 벌이고 있다. 하지만 국내 지자체 간 과도한 경쟁은 국가 항만산업에 부정적인 영향을 미쳐 불필요한 사회적 비용과 경제적 손실을 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 항만 간 경쟁력분석을 바탕으로 북극항로에 특성화된 전진기지를 구축하기 위한 전략을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 대상항만은 각 권역을 대표하는 무역항으로 선정하였으며, 문헌 및 통계 자료 검토, 설문조사를 통해 AHP분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 북극항로 상에서 부산항, 여수 광양항, 울산항, 인천항 순으로 높은 경쟁력을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 이와 함께 추가적으로 고려해야 할 요인들을 검토하여 다양한 해양산업과 연계하는 부산 전진기지 특화형, 북극자원과 석유화학클러스터를 활용한 울산 전진기지 특화형, 그리고 항만 기능을 분담하여 협력하는 혼합형을 가능한 시나리오로 설정하고, 그 추진방향을 개략 제시하였다.

  • 한국의 해운기업에 대한 정책지원이 제한적이고 금융지원 등도 규모적인 면이나 지원시기 등에서도 적합성, 적기성 등에 문제가 해소 되어야 하며, 산업회복 가능성을 높이기 위해서는 이에 대한 종합적인 대책이 필요하며, 선사 스스로도 경쟁력확보를 위해서 부단한 노력이 필요하며, 향후 환경규제 강화에 대비하고, 해운기업의 특성상 탄력적인 대응이 이루어 질수 있도록 함이 필요하다. 조선산업은 극심한 불황속에서 작년 호전되는 시기를 맞았으나, 외부 및 내부 구조적 문제대한 쇄신이 필요하며, 미래 선도적인 산업의 특성을 갖추기 위해서 정부 합동으로 지속적인 R&D 투자를 통해 핵심기술 확보와 경쟁국가간 차별화되고 특화된 산업경쟁력 확보가 이루어지도록 해야 환경 규제 대응 선박 및 경제적 선박 건조 능력을 갖출수 있다. 부산항의 경쟁력은 동아시아의 지정학적 특성을 살리고 지역경제 활성화에 기여하고 국가 중추 기간 허브항만으로서의 위상 발전을 도모하고, 동아시아 물류 선진국가 위치를 확고히 하도록 해야 하며, 이를 위해서는 항만 운영의 질적인 변화와 선진화, 스마트 항만화, 원양 메가캐리어 기항 확대, 항만운영 신속화 및 저비용 창출 항만으로 인한 선주 화주의 경제성도모하고, 선주 화주의 이용성 확대전략 확립이 필요하며, 동북아시아 4개국의 네트워크 구축으로 러시아 랜드브릿지 시스템과 중국 랜드브릿지 시스템을 활용한 유라시아와 구주지역까지의 물류망 구축 등 장기적인 글로벌 연계망 구축도 필요하다.

A Study on the Trade-Economic Effects and Utilization of AEO Mutual Recognition Agreements

  • Purpose: The AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) program, created in 2001 in the United States due to 9.11 terrorist's attack, fundamentally changed the trade environment. Korea, which introduced AEO program in 2009, has become one of the world's top countries in the program by ranking 6th in the number of AEO certified companies and the world's No. 1 in MRA (Mutual Recognition Agreement) conclusions. In this paper, we examined what trade-economic and non-economic effects the AEO program and its MRA have in Korea. Research design, data and methodology: In this study we developed a model to verify the impact between utilization of AEO and trade-economic effects of the AEO and its MRA. After analyzing the validity and reliability of the model through Structural Equation Model we conducted a survey to request AEO companies to respond their experience on the effects of AEO program and MRA. As a result, 196 responses were received from 176 AEO companies and utilized in the analysis. Results: With regard to economic effects, the AEO program and the MRA have not been directly linked to financial performance, such as increased sales, increased export and import volumes, reduced management costs, and increased operating profit margins. However, it was analyzed that the positive effects of supply chain management were evident, such as strengthening self-security, monitoring and evaluating risks regularly, strengthening cooperation with trading companies, enhancing cargo tracking capabilities, and reducing the time required for export and import. Conclusions: When it comes to the trade-economic effects of AEO program and its MRA, AEO companies did not satisfy with direct effects, such as increased sales and volume of imports and exports, reduced logistics costs. However, non-economic effects, such as reduced time in customs clearance, freight tracking capability, enhanced security in supply chain are still appears to be big for them. In a rapidly changing trade environment the AEO and MRA are still useful. Therefore the government needs to encourage non-AEO companies to join the AEO program, expand MRA conclusion with AEO adopted countries especially developing ones and help AEO companies make good use of AEO and MRA.

제조업체의 유통업체 물류창고 활용 결정 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determining Factors for Manufacturers to Distributors Warehouse in Supply Chain)

  • 본 연구는 대형유통업체와 거래 관계에 있는 제조업체가 대형유통업체가 보유한 물류창고를 활용하는 데에 따른 물류비용의 효율성을 측정하기 위한 요인들을 도출하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 대형유통업체와 거래를 하고 있는 제조업체가 물류 방식을 결정할 때 대형유통업체의 물류창고를 이용하거나 혹은 제조업체가 보유한 자체 물류창고 및 이미 활용하고 있는 외주 물류창고를 이용할 수가 있다. 이 때 제조업체가 어떠한 물류창고를 이용하는가에 따라 물류비용의 효율성은 달라질 것이다. 또한 제조업체가 이용할 물류창고를 결정하게 하는 다양한 요인들이 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 제조업체가 이용할 물류창고 결정 요인으로 제조업체와 유통업체 간의 시장지배력과 같은 영향력 변수로써 사업 환경의 불확실성의 정도, 제조업체가 보유한 역량, 제조업체와 대형유통업체의 거래 특성 요인들을 도출하였으며, 이들 요인은 물류창고 비용효율성을 측정할 수 있는 지표로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

RFID를 활용한 유비쿼터스 컨벤션에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ubiquitous Convention using RFID)

  • We are entering into a era of enterprise computing that is characterized by an emphasis on broadband convergence, knowledge s haring, and calm services. Some people refer to this as the "ubiquitous" computing because its focus is on a high degree of connectivity between a company and its customers, suppliers, and channel partners. Ubiquitous computing technology, "RF" stands for "radio frequency"; the "ID" means "identifer". The tag itself of a computer chip and an antenna. The shortest metaphor is that RFID is like a bar-code but is read with an electromagnetic field rather than by a laser beam. Much has already been written about the use of RFID. But there is no has written about the use of RFID in the convention industry. Therefore this study have specific objectives as follows. 1. To give details on the use of RFID in convention. 2. To introduces the key concepts behind RFID technology. 3. To identify advantage & disadvantage of RFID technology using a BEXCO CASE study. 4. To study on ubiquitous convention using RFID and effective operation methods such as entrance identification system, session management, machine management, CRM management, visitor management, and contents management. This results provide into the current status of ubiquitous computing technology in convention industries. Specific advantages by using ubiquitous computing technology(RFID) are one-stop differentiate service, wireless internet service, use of visitor management system, entrance by tag, and U-logistics. On other side, disadvantages are security, stabilization of RFID system, higher price of RFID tag, and commercial scale. Convention by using of RFID technology is currently at an early stage. Convention company as BEXCO need to have the capabilities to adapt, to customize, to commercialize, and to modify technology to suit our circumstances.

Design and Simulation of a Monorail Network for the Inter-terminal Transport

  • In line with the trend of global transport volume which has increased rapidly over the years, internal transportation in seaports is always conducted with high frequency. Thus, there is always much potential for traffic jams as well as high transportation costs and emissions. Many efforts have been initiated to streamline the inter-terminal container transport (ITT) through the development of automated vehicles and equipment as well as using private transport facilities to overcome these limitations. The purpose of this paper to develop a framework to design, analyze, and validate the efficiency of a new ITT system in a port area based on the monorail network and automatic vehicles. First, the number of shuttles and loaders was determined depending on the transport demand scenario. Next, a simulation model was applied to evaluate the system performance as well as gain more insight into the working process of the ITT system. Finally, by setting goals for the performance indicators, the results showed that the system was highly efficient with 100% of the containers delivered to their destination on time. Besides, a series of other performance tracking was provided to provide insight into the system's capabilities.
